Amazing service! After taking down the original light, the new light Mike noticed the new light was cracked and the cord was cut. They left and did not charge a service fee or anything. When the new light was delivered they came back the next day and installed it. We had them previously install pendadent lights in our kitchen. They told us the install was much easier than expected and charged us less than the estimate. Great honest and responsive service! We will only use Powers for our electrical work!

Mike Powers does not respect your time or your business. I took time off of work to meet him for our appointment and he did not show up. After being 30 minutes late I called him to verify the appointment was still set, left a voicemail and he did not return my call. Do not waste your time.

[Member name], all I can do is apologize. My wife and j have been moving for the past week and a half and my men were supposed to be handling the estimates. I apologize for letting you down. This is not the way we operate. Typically with Angie's List pricing to old work in 6" recessed we charge $120 per can. I would be more than willing to discount these to $85 per can to make up for letting you down. Again, I am so very sorry. Mike Powers

Awesome. They went out of their way to complete the work and even ran to pick up lights on their lunch break.
Description of Work: Mike and Mike hung pendants, lighting, a chandelier, and fans as well as added can lighting and an outlet. Mike Sr determined the least invasive way to add the cans, saving my walls from having numerous holes. They even came back and fixed a switch tripping a breaker (not from their work)

The work was not performed.
Description of Work: The son of the owner came out to do an estimate on March 15th. The electric that runs my pond needs fixed as well as some outdoor outlets. The bid was emailed to me on March 20th. However, the bid seemed very low compared to the other bids I received. I contacted Powers Electric and left a voice mail message to call me regarding their bid. Didn't hear a thing. I followed up later with an email and ask that they contact me if they were interested in doing the work for me. Finally, the owner called me and said he had been out of town and that his son did the estimate bid and may have confused me with someone else. He assured me that he would get back to me later in the day. I heard nothing. I called on Saturday, April 2nd and spoke to the son. He said he would let his dad know that I called. I have come to the conclusion that they just don't want to do the work. I am very disappointed as Powers Electric has good ratings on Angie's List.

The Powers Electric technician was punctual, professional and able to describe the problem and his solution in understandable, non-technical terms. Moreover, because the time required to correct the issue was minimal, he refused to accept even a token payment for his services. His actions reflected the direction of his management team, i.e., negotiating for fee is a secondary issue, and the #1 priority is resolution of all safety and security issues prior to leaving the work site.

Mike and Mike provided exceptional customer service! I had been looking at swapping out the light fixture in my 2-story foyer and had several questions as I was going through the decision-making process. I contacted Mike a few times to ask these questions and he always responded promptly and provided extremely helpful information. He was able to schedule the service as early as my schedule permitted and even came out on a Saturday morning to accommodate this. He arrived promptly and was friendly, courteous and easy to work with. They were patient with me as I tried to determine what height I wanted the chandelier to be hung as well as arm positioning and offered valuable input. They performed the swap out quickly and adeptly with fantastic results! Their estimate for the service was spot on. Mike and his team demonstrate integrity and pride in the results of the work that they do. Thank you for an outstanding experience-- I will definitely call on you again with any electrical needs!

Thanks to Powers Electric again! We made a mistake in where we asked Mike's electrician to move an outdoor electric box for mounting our porch light. When i asked Mike if they could move it again he had someone come out, fix it and did not charge us anything. It was a quick fix but they still had to send someone to the site to do the work. Great customer perspective and very much appreciated!

I messed up. Powers' Electric came through. We urgently needed an outside electrical box moved while we were having our siding replaced. Called Mike Monday and he agreed to have someone there Wednesday. When no one showed up I realized I had texted the address/info to the wrong mobile number. Called Mike and he still had someone there the next day to do the work. Great response, much appreciated.

He arrived early and started immediately. I was asked about which side of the fan blades I wanted showing which was good because I had not opened the box enough to notice that I had a choice of fan blades. The work only took about 40 minutes so it went quickly. He cleaned up well, tested the fixture and offered his service for any additional needs that I had which I appreciated, The only concern I have is that the unit moves when the chains are pulled so I'm not sure that the fan is braced as well as possible.

[Member Name Removed], Thank you for the review. I hope you're enjoying your fan. That is completely normal for the fan to sway a little when you pull the chains. The fan is mounted on a ball bracket which allows the fan to pivot like a pendulum. This is a design characteristic of that style of fan. They do make fixed mount or flush mount fans if you ever want to consider that option Thanks again, Mike Powers Powers Electric 6145546361

Two workers showed up and started the job. I told them I wanted the nine lights we had talked to Mike about and they said that they had used all the lights and nine would be too many. I showed them the unused light and our estimate showed nine lights were to be installed. I called my husband home from work and he told them to put the last light in the kitchen entry. The atmosphere was suddenly hostile, mostly coming from the lead worker The next day I called Mike to tell him one of the switches was upside down he said he would fix it .Later I called him and told him my husband would fix it. I got a referral for a drywall hanger and finisher from him. That was when things went really wrong . The dry wall crew leader promised they could match the pattern in the kitchen. They made a big mess and the ceiling has to be completely sanded down and redone. I spent three days cleaning dry wall dust out of every place you could I paid this crew just to get them out of my house. This was not Mike's fault but do not use a referral from him for dry wall work. . I called Mike to let him know the can light rims could be put in place. He said he was in an attic and would call to set a time when he could install them. I t has been over a month and I have not heard from him. He may still be in that attic. I have had some bad work done in the past but I have never complained or written a bad review. I was totally disappointed in Powers electric and expected better based on the reviews I had read in Angie's list ****UPDATE: He stated that he spoke with my husband and that my husband agreed to install the light covers himself. My husband stated that he did not agree to this. We have already paid them and we think that they spoke with someone else and got us mixed up with them. They thought we only needed 8 lights but I informed them that I wanted 9 lights instead since we always had 9 lights and that was in the estimate. They thought it was going to be too much light and the workers could not install the light covers for us until the drywall was done. I called Mike and he stated that he would call us back but we never heard from him. I learned my lesson by don't pay for something until the work is done. We have moved on from this project.
Description of Work: Installed new can lighting, moved electrical wires, ran a dedicated wire to the microwave, removed old 220 wire in basement. Powers electric was about 700.00 more than the other estimates I received I needed the job done within a certain time. I did get one estimate that was about 600.00 dollars more than Powers electric. Prices seem to vary a lot with electrical workers.

Mrs. [Member Name Removed], I did return your call. I spoke to your husband and he said that he was comfortable just putting a trim and bulb in himself and that it wasn't necessary to make another trip to your home. Maybe there was some miscommunication between the two of you but I would have been happy to come back and install them for you. In regards to the can lights we went over the layout with you again before we installed them. My two guys made a suggestion that 9 lights in the 12x12 kitchen would be way to crowded. You agreed and that is why we proceeded with what we installed. We can easily add more if that is truly what you want. please let me know if I can be of assistance. Mike and his father showed up right on time. They worked quickly and professionally to do the job right. Everything was completed to pour satisfaction. Mike quoted me two hours of work, but he and his father were able to complete it in under an hour and we saved a few bucks. We'd use them again in a heartbeat.

Great service. During the estimate Mike said they may have to make some cuts in the drywall to fish the new line in from the breaker box in the garage. On installation day they found they were able to work things out and avoid cutting any interior drywall. The service was performed in under an hour. Except for the new outlet in the wall, you'd never be able to tell work had been done, nice and clean and professional. Highly recommended. They are good which means they are busy, so he may take a day or so to respond to voicemail, but it's worth it for the service you get!

These guys were subbed to complete a job someone else started but couldn't finish. Their part of the work was completed to code and within the allowable budget and time frame. Scheduling was a little difficult as we went through a couple of adjustments (for them and for me) and it wasn't always easy to get in touch with the head guy. All is well that ends well, I suppose, but there was a lot of communication and miscommunication, much of which was neither my fault nor their fault, but the original contractor.

Mike got back to me quickly on Monday morning after I had left him a voicemail when he was out of town. He and his Dad came over that very same afternoon and looked at my electrically-dead upstairs bathroom. No breakers were tripped in the jbox in the basement, and nobody could detect exactly where in the walls the line had gone bad. Mike's Dad said that he remembers from years of experience that in houses as old as mine (1903) there usually was a small medicine cabinet with a light over it directly above the bathroom sink. BUT my bathroom had been remodeled many years ago and there was now a huge mirror over the sink bolted right directly into the wall. I said what the heck, let's take it down (not all that easy) and look to see what's behind it. Well, lo and behold, there was an old box in the wall that had burned & blackened wires inside it. My old house could have burned down from fire travelling throughout the walls! Thank heavens for Mike and his Dad and all the experience they have between them! (Oh, and they also remembered to give me my Angie's List discount on my final bill, too. That's a win-win for everybody!)

I purchased an Angie's List special deal to have provider switch out a single light fixture in our home. The provider emailed me within two days and was very flexible in scheduling a time to come out and perform the service. I also asked the provider if he would be willing to switch out a second light fixture while he was here and he agreed to do so for a very reasonable additional charge. The provider was scheduled to come to my home at 10 a.m. but called at 9:30 to apologize and explain that his initial call that morning would take longer than he anticipated. He asked me if it would be okay if he was about half an hour late and I said it was. The provider arrived at the home at 10:30 and was very polite and professional. He removed the old light fixtures and replaced them with new fixtures--the new fixtures look beautiful and work perfectly. He worked quickly and quietly and cleaned up after himself before he left. I would definitely recommend this provider to others.

That’s what we’re trying to get. I wasn’t happy with the situation at all. I called, I believe it was a Monday and never received a phone call, I had to leave a message. We had some electrical fixtures that we needed to take down and put new ones in, in the basement, also to take care of the new pole lamp light and garage door lanterns. That was a pretty easy job that just took a little bit of knowledge I would think, but anyway we wanted to have an electrician because we want to make sure that everything was done properly and we weren’t sure that a handyman could do that so we called Powers and I got a voice message and they called back the following Sunday night and spoke with my husband. He apologized that he didn’t got back to us sooner, he said that he was in the middle of a big move, he set up a time for us to come out and give us an estimate, then my husband said he had to take a day off from work in order to do that, so he gave us two options, Tuesday or Wednesday, he said to go with Wednesday because it would give my husband more time to get the time off with work, so the time was set of Wednesday, early afternoon, my husband took the day off and he didn’t show. He stayed here from noon until 5:00 and at that point, that’s when our blinds go down because it’s dark and we figured he wouldn’t be coming, we never received a phone call, never received another phone call apologizing or rescheduling, nothing. So obviously we have not had the work done yet. We’re not happy with it, they had good reviews, but he sure didn’t follow through for it.

{Member's name removed}, I hate to make excuses but life interfered with my work. I have a 8 month old baby on top of my wife and I trying to move.
