Very good to work with

We met Todd and Brian at the Columbus Home Improvement Show. From the very start they were very informative and never pushy. We had delayed our basement remodel mainly because we could not figure out where the best place was to put rooms and other options. When we had an idea we called Todd. He came out and Told us what to put where and why. It made perfect sense! He literally measured right then, went upstairs and offered us a very reasonable price. We made a couple of upgrades here and there and it was no problem. We have a custom built home and they matched the basement to the upper floors perfectly. We recommend Finished Basements Plus without hesitation.

Each team of workers treated our home as if it were their own. During framing, they asked our opinion about a slight change to a wall to insure that persons would be able to have walking clearance between the new wall and pole. Also, they increased the size of the walk-in closet a foot during framing because we had the space. We were able to choose 3 paint colors. We love color and was excited about this option since the upstairs is one shade of beige. The painters asked our opinion about one color choice of the basement after cutting in the color on the wall. We realized that it looked quite different on the walls than on the color chip. We were able to change the color for a small fee because the original color that we chose did not look good for the bath. The electrician added two small lights to the storage area because one part of the area would be dark when the barn door was closed. During the framing stage, Todd, one of the owners allowed us to purchase the wiring and HDMI cable for television or for a projector without additional charge. This made tv installation so much easier for the installers and tv programmers. Todd covered the upstairs wood flooring which was necessary to maintain our floors and reduce the impact of constant traffic leading to the basement. They constantly cleaned up after themselves. They maintained a professional demeanor during the entire construction. The level of quality of the finished basement area matches the quality of the rest of the house. The basement feels like a sanctuary away from home even though it is in our home. Everything works well and we are glad that we refinished half of the basement. If we ever decide to finish the other half of the basement we will certainly use Finished Basements Plus Inc. again. The finished basement area is an asset to our home and we love it!

Todd and Brian were amazing to work with through this entire process. We were looking around for awhile to get our basement completed and lucked into having this company quote us. The work process was very fluid , but Todd kept everyone on schedule and met all of the deadlines. They actually finished the basement a couple of weeks ahead of the quoted schedule. The end product was exactly what we wanted from an all inclusive cost/bidding process. They went through lots of detail to ensure that all of our basement matched the rest of the house. I would strongly suggest to allow this company to quote your business.

We wanted to take this opportunity to express how pleased we are with the experience we had with the entire crew at Finished Basements Plus. From the moment we entered into conversations with the team until the very last day, we found the interaction to be collaborative and ultimately positive in nature. As with any construction project, there were points in time where we needed to work through challenges and/or differences in opinion. As situations arose, while we spent a little time ?debating? the topic, the crew was always willing to work with us without losing momentum or hindering progress. We appreciated the team?s understanding as we made a few minor changes to, for example, paint colors ? they were the first to remind us that it was better to take care of it now versus later. They also spent time studying the way the rest of the house looked so as to ensure there was the same look and feel in the basement. The entire team exhibited a level or professionalism, respect and passion that is rare to see these days. You could clearly see how much the quality of their work meant to them and when they saw our expressions, were clearly motivated to keep a keen eye on every aspect of the job. I think we gave the crew a few things they hadn?t really done before, but they were up to the challenge and executed flawlessly. They were friendly and remembered to clean up after every day?something the family truly appreciated. We will definitely think of Finished Basements Plus for any future work and highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality work from a great team!

The end product was great but I would never use them again.

We decided to contract with Finished Basements Plus ("FBP") for several reasons. The first and foremost reason was that we connected with Todd the owner and we trusted him. He was open, and unguarded and spoke to us as regular people who wanted understandable answers to our questions and not a sales pitch and he delivered. He was also very responsive to our calls and text messages. Every question and concern we had was answered and above all, as time showed, he was honest, a trait found in few who are out to land a sale. The second reason we contracted with FBP was their price. We wanted to add additional living space by converting our basement into a big room for our family to share. We received estimates from other contractors on Angie's List and FBP was at least $2 per square foot less that the others. The 3rd reason we contracted with FBP was due to the fact that other contractors were excluding the cost of flooring and/or painting. Even though we had our children paint the basement so that they had "some skin in the game", it was an added plus that it was something we weren't required to do up front. In addition, the finished basement turned out to be better than expected. We asked Todd to make some changes to the ceiling that I thought would cost extra because it had already been framed, but it didn't. The quality of the drywall finishing was exemplary. The workers were clean, courteous and efficient. I would highly recommend Finished Basements Plus.

Finished Basements Plus did an excellent job. All of the workers were great. They did the job in a timely fashion and even after inspections were delayed Todd made sure that our basement was finished on time. We plan on using them again in the future and I would definitely recommend this company to anyone in need of basement finishing/remodeling.

Great service and outcomes - very reasonable priced and very responsive

We decided to hire them for the job because they seem very knowledgeable with basement finishing. We had several other quotes, theirs was not the least but not the most expensive. FBP is scheduled to start our basement at the end of August. I'll update after the job is complete.

My wife and I scheduled an appointment for an estimate. We rearranged our schedules to be present but unfortunately Finished Basements Plus did not show up. We worked to contact Finished Basements Plus to understand the delay but did not get an answer. About an hour after the scheduled appointment we got a call saying that they, "Had their wired crossed", with the person who was supposed to provide us with the estimate. We decided not to move forward with rescheduling another appointment for an estimate.

Made appointment to have an estimate but provider stood me up. When I called, instead of apologizing, he lied to me and was rude.

Service was scheduled but they were unable to meet the commitment- which was to provide the blueprint of the basement remodeling plan. Since they couldn't meet their commitment & after my review the owner came back and refunded the money - fair & square. With this review I don't want to say that they were bad or lousy because I my first impression of the guy was very professional and decent. However, I can't even say they are excellent hence I am rating them as Good.

Todd and his crew were excellent! We interviewed several contractors and decided to use Finished Basements Plus based on their standard materials used on their projects and how easy they were to work with. From the very first meeting with Bryan, sales and contracts, it was obvious that they had a lot of experience and came with a lot of ideas for our space. We signed a contract with them in early January with a start date of January 26th. They started on time with an estimated 5 weeks to complete the project. Since we have built houses before we knew there would be delays that could not be foreseen and we were able to "roll with it". Total construction time was 8 weeks with some delays due to weather (heavy snow and ice several times during the project), drywall hanging and finishing took a little longer due to the size of the space, and a lot of detail finish work which was 1000% worth it! Todd has a great crew that worked in our house for almost 6 weeks getting the steel stud framing ready, the wiring for all the electrical, cutting the floor and moving the pipes for our bathroom, insulating, and then painting and finish work. Mark, the crew lead, was very friendly and great to ask for feedback on ideas while we were designing and framing. They arrived early each morning and worked until at least 5 PM every day. Each day they cleaned the basement before they left which was very nice. It helped keep our focus on the progress being made and not the clutter. The drywall was sub-contracted out but Todd coordinated the times and the subs so we knew what was going on at all times. I will mention that one of the reasons we chose Finished Basements Plus was they were the only contractor to use steel stud framing and moisture resistant drywall throughout the entire basement for their job. Todd also has a carpet team he works with. There is a standard set of carpet that comes with the package but we chose to upgrade for a small amount more since we liked the color/style of one of the other options. Granite counters were also subbed out to a local fabricator. We had a couple issues with the fabricator not getting certain cuts and holes for the faucet correct. Todd took care of all of this for us and got all of it fixed the same week even having the fabricator create a new counter top when the first one was drilled incorrectly. Todd also coordinated all of the permits with our county and the inspectors for sign off. One of the things we have learned with building houses is you have to stay engaged on the project at all times. Todd was excellent at communicating when he and his team or subs were going to be there and what was going to be worked on. I appreciated the great communication as it took a lot of potential frustration out of the project. I always knew what was going on which was nice. As with the carpet, we decided to upgrade the tile, the lighting, and some other small details. Todd let us pick out the lighting we wanted for the kitchen, bathroom, and theater. He also went with us to the tile store to pick out the Travertine tile and the granite for the counter-tops. We paid the overages from the base package we initially agreed to which was fine. We are VERY happy with the finished product. Todd and Bryan said at the very beginning they would make the basement feel like an extension of the upstairs and they did. I would recommend Finished Basements Plus to anyone looking to have their basement finished. Todd was one of the best contractors we have worked with on projects of this size. Thank you Todd!

Todd Seeds and his crew were very careful, considerate and respectful of the rest of our home and always cleaned up after themselves when they finished for the day. Todd communicated with us throughout the project and when special tradesmen came in he monitored them to ensure that everything was done properly. He even discovered a defect in our crawl space air duct system and an exterior window and repaired it for us! They finished on time and on budget and went way beyond the call of duty! Our basement looks amazing and we would not hesitate to use their services again!

He hasn't yet started on finishing the basement. So far I have only had him over for the initial quote, then we met him for a follow up to revise our plans and pay a 30% down payment. He is scheduled to start in March.

Everything went well. The workers were good and professional. They responded on time but the project was delayed. They had several projects simultaneously and that is why it was delayed.

Provider came to the home on 2 occasions to take measurements of the basement space. Apparently, the first set of measurements were somehow lost. Afterwards, I received a rough, hand drawn sketch of the basement space with rough dimensions and markings where lights and HVAC runs might fall along with an estimate to finish the basement. This didn't match up with my expectation from the illustration shown on the deal itself that lead me to believe I would be receiving a CAD drawing. Provider explained that this is what he always provides customers of the deal and was unaware of how it was being illustrated on the Angie's List ad. He was very fair in that he refunded my monies as a result of not meeting my expectations. I contacted Angie's List, which I told the provider that I would, to explain that they should change the illustration and wording to reflect "hand drawn sketch" as opposed to a detailed set of plans. No response from Angie's List as of yet indicating that the deal would be revised.

I saw a response on Jan 3 from the company attached to my original posting that is completely false though, not that it matters now.

As with many projects, there were a couple of minor delays, and dry-walling was very messy, but the finished project turned out great and I would gladly recommend Finished Basements Plus. Their price was considerably less than any other quote. In addition,. when scoping out the work to provide an estimate, Todd uncovered an existing and serious problem, which he corrected. The dryer vent was going through a window into a window well that was covered with a plastic cover, and had about 4 inches of mulch on top of it. The lint had nowhere to go. Todd re positioned the vents. Great job, Todd!

The service was not what I expected. The provider just finishes basements he does not do any design. When it says design you expect a provider to make something out of a blank space. Furniture, colors, layout and presentation are all aspects of a design. This ad was very misleading. I did speak to the provider about this and he was very professional and understood why I canceled my deal.

The entire team at FinishedBasementsPlus did an incredible job! It's rare to find this level of professionalism and passion for quality work. The People: In simple words... "experienced talented professionals". Everyone on their team was respectful, polite and always extremely professional. The partners of the company clearly communicate expectations for each step of process. It starts at the quote portion until the final walk through. We valued the fact they treated the project as "our house" everyday and not just a work site. Quality of work: They stand proudly behind their work. Attention to detail should be a trademark for their team. Quality material plus skill, dedicated craftsmanship garnered a top-notch product. We are fortunate to reside in a quality built home with higher end finishes... they made sure the basement matched the entire house seamlessly. Our Issues: None with the contractor, but the city inspector had an issue with an original design (30 years ago) element. Todd and the team explained our options and together we worked out a feasible solution to complete the project. Time/Budget: They didn't waste anytime to do a top notch professional job. Our only delays were related to the inspectors availability. Again the partners at the firm "clearly communicate expectations" such as timelines, price, days that will be noisy, etc. We were slightly over our original because we choose to upgrade a few elements from our original selection, why? When we saw the level of quality work they performed we upgraded a few of the finishes. We plan on utilizing this team for future work around our house. Highly recommend!

They did electrical, plumbing, painting, flooring, and countertop work. They did some ceiling work. The also knocked down a wall which freed up a lot of space.

Todd and Brian were professional and worked well with us. We were informed all along the way of how the work was progressing and what was next. Any issues or ideas to make things better were shared early and often. The team was trustworthy and any special trades that came to help were monitored to ensure work was handled correctly. They handled all permitting and all inspections were passed. It was just an excellent experience!
