I had 3 quotes for the job and although Finished Basements Plus wasn’t the least expensive quote I chose them based on the fact they have done 6 homes in my 52 house development. I have Brian come out to bid the Job and his knowledge of the business and concerns for my complete satisfaction won them the job. He is a honest man and truely cares about his clients. My basement had a bedroom, playroom, full bath w walk in closet, half bath kitchen, living area, pool table area, and complete bar.

On May 9, 2018 we received as estimate from Brian during a 2-3 hour meeting reviewing details of our basement remodel. We were advised that the estimate he provided was good for 90 days After he left, my wife and I researched flooring alternatives as he suggested. I called Brian back leaving three specific messages requesting some clarification regarding the estimate over the next few days, we received no return call form him On May 16, 2018 I called Todd the owner since my previous calls were not returned. He called back, He advised me that they were no longer doing work in Pickerington and would be removing our area and other areas from their service area / he had lost 2 crews, was experiencing personnel shortage and could not do the work. I am not sure if he apologized or not. The whole call left us "cold" and glad we had not signed a contract with them advancing them 25% down to start the work What I find difficult to understand is why our repeated contacts were not returned. Having a good record for 27 years makes me wonder what happened.

I hired Finished Basements Plus, Inc. to finish my basement. The work was completed on time and they did a great job. I would recommend them to anyone looking to finish their basement.

We received estimates from three companies for our basement remodel. Brian came out to give us the estimate and listened to everything we wanted and even gave us ideas about some things we might want to consider. In the end, they gave us the lowest estimate. The crew assigned to our project was personable and friendly. Todd was friendly and responsive to every question and/or concern raised. He said that he wanted us to be happy with our completed project and was true to his word. He addressed every single issue raised and corrected whatever was needed. Todd went "above and beyond" to help us out with another project going on in our home. In our book, Todd is the best. We would definitely hire him again.

Excellent. Brian drew up the plans and Todd and his crew actually did the work. Everyone who came to our house to complete the work did an excellent job. Plus, they were very nice to work with and very accommodating. The price they charged for what we got was very fair. Although always messy to do a big project like this, Todd and his crew kept the place as clean as possible at the end of every day. A huge plus is that Todd is always accessible by phone. Whenever we called our calls were returned promptly. If the need arrives for another building project we will definitely call Todd to do the work, We highly recommend Finished Basements Plus a

In hindsight it did not take that long to finish 1500 square feet. Todd's team are very detail oriented, creative with changes as they came up, patient and helpful when deciding where canned lights should go, etc. Todd uses the same people for everything and they have been with him for years which I feel says a lot about Todd and Brian and how they treat their employees. In turn, the men that worked in my home for several months did a wonderful job. We love our finished basement which looks like an extension of the rest of our new home.

Finished Basements Plus did an amazing job transforming our basement into a wonderful living area. We had been getting quotes for our job for well over 2 years. We simply could not find the right company to do the job. Our biggest issue was receiving quotes, but being told we needed to pay for granite, cabinets, carpet, etc. which makes it hard knowing an 'all-in' amount. Finished Basements Plus was unique among all of them because they gave us a 'turnkey' price that included all of these items. In addition, they were among the lowest quotes we received. Bryan was great to work with and helped us map out our initial contract. He even agreed to use wood studs instead of metal so we would have the flexibility later to install built-ins, cabinets, or shelving anywhere. Mark's crew was amazing with the framing and finish work. The drywall folks, plumbers, and electrician were all punctual and did a wonderful job. We had a few hiccups along the way, but Todd was always quick to step in and even complete some of the work himself. In the end, it took a long time for us to find the right company and we are so happy how it all turned out.

My wife and I very much appreciated the end result of all the work that Finished Basements Plus provided us with this summer. We initially received quotes from three companies servicing the Columbus area and this company by far provided the most "bang for your buck" in terms of pricing. As far as I could tell the only difference between this company and the other contractors we received quotes from were that Finished Basement Plus uses metal studs vs wood studs. There are pros/cons to each form which are easy to research through a Google search. After drawing up an initial floor plan, Todd & his lead (Mark) were able to take our sketches and provide suggestions that really improved our vision. My favorite recommendation was to add a built-in shelving unit for our media equipment (picture attached). If I had to pick out an area that could be improved on for this company it would be the communication between the various teams. For example, there were times when our plumber would show up and not be able to do his work because certain things were not complete yet. This caused delays that seemed unnecessary with proper coordination. All in all, we are very satisfied with the end result and love how great our home looks now. We joke that our basement now looks nicer than our upstairs and we definitely spend a lot of time in our downstairs area. Thank you Finished Basements Plus for all your hard work and making our home look fantastic! Some tips I would recommend when finishing your basement: - Make sure your contract is detailed. We ran into an issue where we assumed our shower would come with doors and apparently since it wasn't written in the contract we had to pay an extra $500 to get it added on once we realized no doors were being added. More detail is better than less! - We found it very helpful to review what all needed to be done with the specialized contractors first thing in the mornings (ie reviewing with electrician where outlets should be placed, telling plumber if he was installing a vanity or pedestal sink). I also started placing post-it notes with directions throughout the basements which also proved helpful. - Pick out your own Fixtures. We were able to receive credits for the "stock" fixtures and picked out our own fixtures (vanity, towel rack, lighting, etc...). This guaranteed that we were getting fixtures that we absolutely loved.

We were thrilled. Todd Seeds ordered all supplies needed and this was a huge job. He told us when someone would be there and what they were to be doing and they were there. We had one time where a contractor was not going to be there on a day and he let us know immediately. Workers were courteous and cared about what they were doing. Anytime they questioned what I wanted, I was contacted immediately. The quality of all work was outstanding from framing, drywall, electrical, plumbing, knockdown ceilings, and project managing. I would do it all over again. We absolutely love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Overall the project went well. The company did a good job overall. Original estimate was about 6-8 weeks. But it was upped to 8-10 weeks when the project actually started. It did take complete 10 weeks. It was great working with this company and its staff.

The process went quite well. Crews were on the job just about every day, with the entire job taking approximately two months. The workers were pleasant and careful moving supplies up and down the stairs. The only issue that really came about involved the occasional days that the workers didn't show up when expected or did when not expected. It didn't happen very often, but better communication would have helped. Scheduling to be at home was not a problem for us, but could have been if we were working away from the house. The theater room was soundproofed with insulation which helps keep the subwoofer harder to hear from upstairs. A soffit was constructed to hide the projector and mask its fan noise. Step light were built into a raised platform to guard against tripping. The entry room has a wall-to-wall shelf for snacks and a theater-style popcorn maker, with a mini-fridge underneath. The utility areas were built around with easy access through panel doors, which match our upstairs doors and trim. We decided to upgrade the carpet and are very glad we did, as the basic carpet that came with the package was insufficient quality. The only other upcharge we had was for painting additional colors for a couple of walls and the soffit. I provided the two wall sconces flanking the double doors to the theater room as well as the four steplights in the platform, all available online. We have had several movie parties already and look forward to football parties in the fall. The comments of our guests range from “outstanding” to "awesome.” I'd recommend this company without hesitation.

So far so good. They gave a very fair quote. The sales guy, Bryan, was good at explaining what the situation was. That's all I really have feedback on because this is day 1 of the job. I haven't seen any work yet.

Our overall experience with Finished Basements Plus was positive. We got a total of three quotes on finishing our basement and they came in the lowest. We did not choose them simply because of their price, we also read all of the reviews on Angie's List and looked at their portfolio of finished photos on their website. We also liked their approach with using metal studs as opposed to wood studs and their willingness to keep the cost down by creatively working around some obstructions (aka pipes) instead of moving them. We initially met with Brian who came out and looked at our space and made suggestions on the layout and talked through their process. He then was able to give us a quote on the stop, which included finishing the larger space of 790 sq feet, 45 sq ft full bath and a large built in storage unit. The other two quotes from contractors took well over 5 days to get. They have a standard finishing package that includes metal studs, dry wall ceiling, basic carpet, light switches, recessed lights, doors, etc. Along the way you have the option to upgrade certain things and they were relatively easy to work with doing those. Todd (co-owner & project manager) is a nice guy, he sometimes challenged us on some of our upgrade asks and could be difficult at times, but in the end helped us achieve those. For example, we upgraded our vanity in our bathroom and picked it out ourselves and brought it home. They then installed it and deducted the price from our final payment. They also installed a few ceiling plugs for us and ran the HDMI cords for us, at no additional cost. They have approximately 6 different crews that come into the home. Framing, dry wall hanging, dry wall finishing, ceiling finishing, plumbing, carpet and final finishes (finishing crew is the same as the framing crew). The carpet wholesaler they use is great to work with too. He is not your typical carpet salesman, he doesn't try to get you to upgrade. He lays out the facts and the prices and lets you choose. Every crew was respectful, polite and timely. We have small children, so we were concerned about having so many strangers in our house. We didn't even hear any inappropriate language. They also have a guy who comes around a few times a week and picks up the trash and cleans up. He is very nice and helpful. They got all of the proper city inspections and they are present for all of them. Overall they are a great value and do great work. Their only weakness that we are bit disappointed in were the finishing touches and the built ins. The built ins we paid extra for included shelves and a storage box (for toys). It was no where near the quality that Brian originally described and showed pictures of. The painting was a bit sloppy in spots, access door near water shut off is not the best carpentry work, a couple spots where trim came together isn't very smooth and we are noticing painting on the doors is not of the best quality. Thankfully these are minor things that can be easily fixed with the exception of the built in. Overall construction and important things like plumbing, electrical and HVAC are perfect! We highly recommend them.

Brian came out to estimate. He was very nice and very easy to communicate what we wanted, and answered my calls every time I have follow up questions until we signed the contract. Todd then brought his teams to do the work also impressed us. They were very friendly, and they cleaned up at the end of each day. They were very easy to deal with minor changes which best fit our needs. At the end they did an excellent job. I have already referenced them to our friends.

We had a great experience with Finished Basements Plus. Everyone was friendly and professional throughout the process. The work done was quick and smooth. Todd and Brian were great to work with. Prior to signing the contract we had estimates from 3 other companies and Finished Basements Plus was always lower and had more to offer.

Very well. Prior to signing the contract, Brian very honestly told me that he discouraged the work unless we had a professional basement drying company add a sump drainage system. After we signed with the dry basement company, Finished Basements Plus completed a very rapid (but professional) demo of the old basement. Upon completion of the drainage work, Finished Basements Plus worked quickly and professionally to refinish the basement, including adding sheetrock, carpet, closet shelves, new paint, new electrical and new lighting. Their team was friendly, hard working and courteous. The finished product was very nice. Shortly after the work was complete, we put our house on the market. The new basement rec-room was a frequent source of positive feedback, and a differentiator in Upper Arlington. With great workmanship, friendly contractors and an unbeatable price, I would definitely hire this team again if I still lived in Columbus.

The finished product is very nice and we are pleased with how everything looks in the end. However....Todd was difficult to work with. Our requests and inquiries during the finishing process were often met with comments such as "what would you want to do that for?" instead of working with us. For example, we asked them to build a bar area/desk between 2 posts (in an effort to make better use of the space since the posts are positioned right in the middle of a main space). We met with quite a bit of resistance from Todd, apparently because he didn't want to have to run electrical to the area. Later, when it was time to have countertops installed in that area, he told my husband that we would likely be able to have only 12" of countertop for the desk because the structure wouldn't be able to support a greater depth. This was very frustrating since we explained what we wanted in the beginning......it turned out that the installers were able to brace the countertop and install as we had wished. During the finishing process, we provided Todd with a garage code so that his crew could enter our house to work while we were not home during the week. He and his workers used the code and entered our house without knocking or announcing themselves on a regular basis. Maybe this is typical of contractors, but from a customer service standpoint I would think ringing the doorbell first should be routine. I was very upset one Saturday near the end of the project when Todd let himself into my garage when I was home with our children (and certainly not expecting him on a Saturday!) to come in and take some measurements. During this visit he attempted to leave flooring samples for the 1/2 bath that we were to choose from. When I explained that we were already in the process of choosing tile from Home Depot, he started to argue with me that I had to choose from his samples. Our contract clearly stated that we had a per-square-foot allowance for both carpet and tile. Had I not been very assertive with him, he would have bullied me into choosing from the samples (which were not what we wanted....vinyl I think). Various other issues occurred during the project....his crew drywalled over a heat vent in the ceiling of the basement. Instead of correcting it right away, he waited until the ceiling was stamped and drywall finished and painted. They cut into the soffit beside the vent to figure out where the vent was, then put a plastic cover over the large hole that was made rather than fix the drywall. It looks rather silly. Same issue with the refrigerator water shutoff valve in the ceiling....they waited until everything was finished instead of cutting out an access when they should have, so now the access point is in the wrong place and the valve is very difficult to reach. Near the end of the project, the plumbing inspector arrived to our home for the final plumbing inspection, but the crew wasn't there. The inspector left a notice on the front door which stated "DO NOT REMOVE" and that the inspection must be rescheduled and there would be a $50 fine. My husband and I were at work, but my MIL was here with one of our kids and had seen the notice on the door. Todd removed the notice, and so my MIL questioned him about it. He told her WE would need to reschedule the inspection & pay the $50. Knowing how this project had been going, she (thankfully) told him that we weren't responsible since HIS workers were not present when they should have been. Again, we are very pleased with the end product, and I would like to point out that most of the actual workers who worked in our home were friendly and did a good job. Unfortunately working with Todd was not an overly pleasant experience, but we do appreciate that the job was completed to our liking in the end.

Todd and Brian did a fantastic job finishing our basement. We met them at the Columbus Home and Garden Show 2016. Brian came out and did the estimate. He listened to our ideas and then was able to offer suggestions to make the basement into the room that we wanted. All of the contractors were very pleasant to work with. They were respectful of my home and cleaned up each evening. They even made friends with my dogs. They also did great work. Todd was at our house quite a bit during the process. He was always willing to answer my questions and keep me up to date on the next step. The basement turned out great. We did a 1/2 bath, egress window, bar/cabinets, built in shelving and general living space. The project took a bit longer than expected, but the quality of the work was excellent. I would definitely recommend Todd and Brian and their crew!

We decided to have our basement finished after having been in our house for a little over four years. We received a competitive quote from Todd and Brian, and we decided to go with them. From the beginning, we knew we had made the right choice. Everything (framing, drywall, electrical, plumbing, tile, carpet, various customizations) - all of it was done with expert craftsmanship and looks terrific. Todd and Brian were a pleasure to work with, as were almost all the crew members. We are very pleased with the work performed and the value we received.

We had a fantastic experience with Finished Basements Plus. Everyone who we worked with during the process was friendly and professional. The work was done very well, each step inspected along the way and overseen by Todd who pays very close attention to detail. Also, the work area was neat and clean every day before they left. The job was completed quickly, exceeding our expectation on the finish date. We would highly recommend this company and have already given their information to friends & neighbors considering finishing their basements.

It went great! We got five estimates and Todd came in with the best price. Even though the cost is important, we also wanted someone who did great work. Todd and his team were here on time and they finished the basement in about four weeks. They were very courteous, and cleaned up at the end of the day. We were exceptionally happy with him and his team. I would highly recommend him.

We initially met with Brian who listened closely to our wants. He put together tentative plans and we finalized them shortly thereafter. His ideas and craftsmen ship were amazing. We are thrilled with the finished project.
