High Point Cabinets

I downsized from a big house to a 950 sq ft condo and David completely remodeled my 1930's kitchen. He designed the small space to fit as many cabinets as possible and it is really beautiful. I had my cabinets painted, (which he growls at because he is a true craftsman), and I supplied the hardware. I started this process about a year ago and highly recommend you call him now if you want them done at the beginning of the year because he is going into a slow time! I got lucky. He put up with many delays, all on my end, and when it came time to install, it was done perfectly! I'm in love with my kitchen....Call him! The price below does not include the countertops.

The quality of work that High Point Cabinets performed was outstanding. They used very high quality materials and the cabinets and doors came out looking great. I was impressed with their ability to design a custom piece and they really helped in the process of choosing the materials that would be used in the work. The installers were also great, very professional. It was a pleasure to work with them and I would hire them again.

HIgh Point Cabinets built custom solid cherry cabinets with a dark coffee stain and a natural cherry kitchen island natural. The cabinets turned out exceptional! Many contractors came through our home during our kitchen remodel and asked who had built the cabinets, that's how beautiful they are. We just love them! Dave Mast is very particular, with attention to detail and we couldn't love our cabinets more! Dave Mast and Susan were wonderful to work with, offering suggestions on how to get the most cabinet space in our kitchen and being very particular ourselves, I believe this was the first time in our 35+ year marriage that we were blown away by quality, stain, and all the wonderful details that went with these cabinets. Wayne and Kyle installed them and again, the contractors said they did a great job. From beginning to end, a great project and we highly recommend High Point Cabinets! We used them again recently, having Dave build a mudroom bench for our laundry room and again, superior quality. Just a suggestion to all wanting to remodel: Don't settle for big box store cabinets when doing a kitchen remodel. There's nothing worse than seeing beautiful counter tops, tile floors, new lighting, and cheap cabinets. Do it right from the git go! Worth every single penny we spend.

Dave does absolutely flawless work. We hired him to build and install the cabinets for a large remodel that included combining a kitchen and dining room and re configuring the entire space. The quality is superb. We compared prices with a semi-custom store and Dave's prices for custom work were about the same as the store's mid-range, no customization. Our kitchen is perfect because we were not confined by pre-determined cabinet sizes. The installation process went seamlessly and was the least painful step of the entire remodel.

Excellent service. David Mast makes beautiful cabinets and his installers were professional, courteous, and contentious. David coordinated with the countertop company and helped us find just what we wanted. The cost of the project included the cabinets and countertop and was less than what other providers quoted.

Dave Mast from High Point Cabinets walked us through the complete process. He was very professional, punctual, and knowledgeable about the cabinets, options, accessories, and installation. The cabinets were available when promised. The quality of the cabinets is great and they come with an excellent warranty. Overall, it was a great experience.

David was great! He was very thoughtful and pleasant to work with. He spent a lot of time designing and discussing the kitchen with us, thought of all the details that we didn't think about, and gave us lots of great advices. He worked with us more like a friend trying to help out more than a business trying to sell something. His business is about 3 hours away from our house but he drove out to see our kitchen, and talked to us a lot over the phone and emails. It was just a little more expensive than Home Depot, but the quality of the cabinets and the service was so much better! We couldn't be happier!

Dave Mast and his crew were incredible. High Point Cabinets designed, built and installed custom-made character hickory cabinets to create a rustic look in our home. Dave worked with us at every step of the process. Because we moved a wall as part of the remodel job, we had a general contractor in the home for some of the work. After seeing the installed cabinets, that contractor commented that had we worked with other, well know cabinet makers in our area, we would not have gotten the same quality in craftsmanship and attention to detail that High Point Cabinets provides its customers. We received great value, precision wood working, and a finished product that will last for decades. No cut corners, no short cuts -- but a phenomenal finished product that draws oohs and ahhs from everyone who's see the work.

The entire experience with Dave Mast and High Point Cabinets was outstanding from the beginning to end! We found Dave on Angie's List and were impressed with the reviews. We had gotten quotes from 2 local kitchen design stores and thought that we should at least find out how much custom made cabinets would cost. I contacted Dave and he described he process (first go to his showroom in Fredericksburg OH and determine what we want, then he comes to your home to take measurements, create preliminary drawings and then he mails you the finalized drawings and bid). The prices Dave quoted were within the ballpark of the quotes we were getting for manufactured cabinets that were not of the same quality of those that Dave custom builds, so we decided to sign on with High Point Cabinets. SInce we were from Cincinnati (3 hours away) we were not certain if he did business this far away, but he was willing to travel to us. The process went smoothly from the beginning. Dave was skilled, knowledgeable, easy to work with and honest. Our cabinets are white with a cornflower blue island and they are beautiful! The craftsmanship is outstanding and it is clear that the cabinets will last and provide an element of beauty in our home for decades. When comparing prices with other companies, it is important to note that the price of installation is included in the quote from Dave. The installation took 2.5 days and the installers were fabulous craftsmen as well. They worked from early morning until the evening and took great care to install perfectly our beautiful cabinets. We were so happy with the outcome that we inquired about who Dave might know that coud build us a kitchen table, chairs and counter stools. We were fortunate to find out that Dave has a brother who owns a furniture store (Maysville Furniture Showcase) and a brother who builds furniture. So we visted the Mast brothers and ended up ordering not only our ktichen table and chairs but also our dining room table and chairs from them. They as well are outstanding craftsmen as well and our ktchen is now beautifully coordinated incluing the table and chairs. If you are looking for outstanding quality, excellent craftmanship along with the personal attributes of honesty and integrity, I would recommend that you go with Dave Mast and High Point Cabinets! The customer service and the quality of the cabinets is excellent. Dave came to my house to measure and made suggestions for what might fit in my space. Very low key sales and very custom solution. Every inch of space was used appropriately. The overall cost was about 30% less than the big box stores however the quality was OUTSTANDING! When the granite vendor came to install my granite I overheard them raving about the quality of the cabinets and saying it was nice to be able to "trust the integrity of the cabinet structure" The cabinet installers were timely, careful and competent. They were also very respectful of my home and cleaned up after themselves. I would certainly use Dave and his crew again BUT I have a warranty included on the cabinets and installation so probably won't need new cabinets.

It went okay. They came out much later and that was part of the problem because we had issues with them actually coming to me and I can show you the email traffic showing all of that. There were additional costs. In total the cost was $500. The quality of their work is good. Their communication and scheduling was awful to me. This just happened while I was moving, I was trying to get a bunch of house work done, I clearly explained that to them and they hid behind the premise of their doing me a favor and I didn't like that either. They said they didn't normally take this scope of work, which all I wanted was a spice cabinet, so not even a big cabinet, just a small cabinet, that was it and I wanted them to build it and they said that they wouldn't even mount it to the wall, I said that was fine too. Then the owner was constantly emailing me back and forth and kept pushing me off and I don't know if their located in your office, that's why I kept telling them I needed to get this done, I needed to get this done. They just kept pushing me further and further back. The quality of work, and again they knew I was moving, so I needed them to get there so and they told me that it would be an extra $300 for whatever it was to build this. So I didn't understand that either, I forget what the coupon was, so I guess a small spice cabinet would be $750 because either that or I felt stuck. I don't think they really honored the coupon. The owner said all of his guys refused to hang the unit, which again I was like aren't you the owner?, can't you tell them to do the work or they get fired?, he said that once again he was doing me a favor, he would do it himself. He did it to a point and I had to finish what he didn't. I cut the hole and the electrical and all that stuff because there was a wire in the background and I framed it. He actually put it in there and drilled it in place. There was a cross beam he cut out of the way. I didn't argue with the guy, I was hurting to get it done and I didn't have time. The quality was good, I mean they did good work. The guy was really nice and polite and all that kind of stuff however I had those issues I told you about earlier. I would shop around and wouldn't rule them out and if I approached them I would say look last time we had a big issue is here going to be an issue this time? I absolutely hate it when companies play the I', doing you a favor card.

We literally interviewed nine (9) companies, most of which wanted us to reface our existing cabinets. We are big fans of Amish furniture and have many pieces throughout the house. We had no idea how to find an Amish vendor until I came across Dave's profile on Angie's List. Dave had someone drive him to the house, and for the next two hours he explained what could be achieved in our kitchen, as it related to our dream list. We obviously spent countless hours, on various websites, looking for the dream kitchen. However, given the age of our house, some of the new features were simply not going to work. Dave's price was much more competitive than those outfits that wanted to reface the old cabinet boxes. Point blank, we paid less to replace the cabinets. It took about four months to get the cabinets and the wait was worth it. The cabinets look amazing but more importantly everything about them looks and feels like the quality you are expecting to get from an Amish builder. We then decided to also redo our home office which is being installed today. Any woodworking project that I will do in the future will clearly go to Dave Mast.

I just read the two previous reviews, and they are right on the money. I really don't need to say anything else, but I will just because I'm so happy with Dave. Dave is exactly the kind of person you want to hire to do work in your home. Most importantly, he is honest, and takes pride in his work. We were probably one of Dave's smaller jobs, and we never felt like just another job he had to get done and off his list. He goes above and beyond making sure everything will be perfect. He's also a super nice guy who is very good about returning calls and answering questions. The cabinets he built for us are extremely high quality and beautiful. He was so good at making design suggestions and upgrade possibilities. He's very honest about what he thinks would be best for your project, and does not try to sell unnecessary upgrades. We have a smaller kitchen, so he actually recommended we didn't go crazy on upgrades because we wouldn't get a good return if we ever sell the house. What's nice right off the bat is that he'll give you a ballpark estimate based on your own measurements. That way, you can decide if you'd like to go further and get serious before wasting his or your time. Most others just want to get in your door and try to sell you. From there, you'll go meet him at his shop once and he'll come out to your house to do official measurements. As far as price goes, I can't imagine you'd get a better deal anywhere considering the quality you get and knowing it'll be done right. We had gotten a few quotes to have our old cabinets refaced, and I stumbled upon Dave on Angie's List while looking for other refacing companies. His price was pretty close to what we were being quoted for re-facing. Considering what we got, it was a no brainer. If you're considering re-facing, give Dave a call first. It will obviously be a more intensive remodel, but it has been so worth it. Installation is just as important, and Wayne and his crew were phenomenal. There will always be some minor issues with a remodel because they're not working with a clean slate, and they went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. They didn't just do something to "make it work." Our laundry room was already painted, and I was amazed that they tore out the old and installed the new and didn't put one scratch on the wall. There were a couple of minor issues that you'd expect, and Dave took care of them immediately. He had to bring one of the cabinets back a couple days later. While he was here, he noticed something on one of the cabinet doors that he didn't like, so he took it back to fix that as well. I don't know if we ever would've seen the imperfection, but he did, and it wasn't acceptable to him. Who else would do that in today's world? We used the counter top company he recommended and so far so good. Dave was also good with communicating with the counter top company as well. I would suggest staying on top of that scheduling, because it's very important to get everything on the calendar as soon as possible so that the counter top company can come out to make their template a couple of days after the cabinets are installed. It's another week before they actually install the counter tops, so you want to make that as short of a window as possible I would recommend a few days between cabinet installation and counter top template just in case there are cabinet issues that need addressed. We had a few days in between and Dave was able to take care of the issues and have everything done before the day our counter template was to be made. I can't say enough good things about this experience. Spending this much money is nerve wracking, but this was so much less stressful knowing we were dealing with someone honest and skilled. If we ever move and need new cabinets, I won't even call anyone else. When our counter tops get installed, I will try to remember to add pictures to this review.

Dave exudes ethics, quality, and honesty in all that he does. I spoke with several other custom (and semi-custom) cabinetmakers before coming to Dave. Dave truly cares about every last detail of your project, and is willing to create something he?s never done before (my custom hood, wine storage, fronts for refrigerator drawers, and pull out liquor bottle storage). I trust him explicitly. In a world where you just don?t know who to trust, you can feel comfort in knowing Dave Mast is one you can. Throughout the design and build process, I could count on Dave to call me with questions on even the most minute details of our project. He went out of his way to explain why he felt something might work better one way or another, but ultimately always left the decision up to me. (For the record, I always trusted his professional judgment). The finished project is breathtaking. The detail and craftsmanship is beyond what we anticipated. As promised, all cabinets are solid wood with soft close hinges/rails that are lifetime guaranteed, two piece crown moulding around the top of the cabinets, furniture feet on most pieces, and generous trim around the bases as well. Installers are equally as important, and his installation crew, Wayne and Caleb are equally as meticulous in their work. We ran into a few unanticipated hiccups due to the design of my home or work done by other contractors. Dave was happy to build and supply anything necessary at no additional cost to me and/or Wayne and Caleb jumped in to remedy what was standing in the way. They truly cared that everyone should look like it was finished with the utmost amount of professionalism. Enduring a renovation doesn?t always provide for such dedication and commitment, and I am so appreciative I found Dave. As I continue to renovate other portions of my home in the coming years, I will undoubtedly use Dave for my cabinetry. His work is fantastic, and his price is well within reason for the finished product.

Dave was outstanding. I really don't do reviews, but Dave was so good I feel compelled to have to write a review on his behalf. His workmanship is outstanding, and he is a perfectionist. In addition, his attention to detail is great, and he has done so many Kitchens, he can really help you avoid a mistake, especially if you are doing the kitchen remodel without any type of designer. His customer service response is terrific too. I bugged him all the time during the process, and received responses the same day. With his help in connecting us to a general contractor & countertop person, we can't be happier with our project. I want to comment about Dave's pricing -- we found Dave's prices to be similar to the middle range products at the big box stores, except Dave's finished product was a much higher quality of cabinet & better quality of stains than you can get from the big box stores... it's like comparing apples to rotten oranges when comparing the quality. I can't reiterate that enough. Dave's quality is vastly superior. In addition, you here custom cabinets tossed around all the time but we had some strange & odd angles wanted, and it was no problem for Dave. He helped us tweak those angles so we could get the most cabinet space out of those angles, and helped avoid any dead space. We could have had a lower price with Dave that what I listed, but we basically decided on many upgrades inside the cabinets. If it weren't for the upgrades, we could have been $12,000 all in. That's another great thing, Dave doesn't push the options. He tells you like it is, and sometimes he does suggest certain upgrades and tells you why, but doesn't mention it again....leaving up to you to decide. On the flipside, he'll tell you when he thinks a certain upgrade is a waste of money. From a sales standpoint, it's like you are talking with a friend about your kitchen and the options, rather than a salesperson, which is one thing I greatly appreciate, because I have a real distaste for salesperson pushing things. If you are considering cabinets and are considering anything about the cheapest cabinets, you should consider Dave. He might be a bit higher, but if he is, he should do everything you can to afford him. He is that good, and that fair, that competent, and that helpful. With Dave's help, our total kitchen overhaul and renovation cost $25,000 less than it would have if we had gone to a general contractor (we got the quote). We did the remodel 6 months ago, and we couldn't be happier with our kitchen, and we constantly get compliments about it. I was impressed enough that I recommended him to my employer to do a custom fitted piece of furniture in our main conference room, and it turned out great as well.

We sent an email through the company's website with dimensions of the kitchen cabinets we would like. Then Dave sent us a detailed quote for new kitchen cabinets. We then talked with him over the phone and decided to meet him at his showroom in his home in Apple Creek, Ohio. We saw various samples of cabinet styles, colors, wood and picked a few choices that we liked and paid $300 deposit. Then Dave came to our home and measured our kitchen and gave us many great suggestions as to increase the storage in the limited amount of space we had in our kitchen and paid half the cabinet cost at this time. Then approximately 8 weeks later our cabinets were installed by two very professional installers who work for Dave and once the cabinets were installed (which took around 9 hours) we paid the balance due. I am so happy with the end result! The cabinets are beautiful, functional and provided so much more storage space than our old kitchen cabinets! Thank you Dave for a job well done!

We searched for more than a year at different cabinet providers including the box stores and ready to assemble cabinets. We just could not find nice cabinets to fit our new kitchen. We almost went with one of the box stores but after haggling over the price and dropping many of the amenities due to price we decided to research custom cabinets. We found High Point Cabinets through Angies list and was impressed with theirs rating . After speaking with Dave we felt comfortable with him. He spent several weeks with us just helping us design a beautiful kitchen that was functional and family friendly. He gave us many tips to make our kitchen perfect. His price was good for custom cabinets. It was a little above the box store price but we got way better cabinets. Daves timeline for kitchen cabinets was precise. His installers were very professional and thorough. They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. I was impressed that it only took 3 days to install my kitchen. Overall the project took about 5 months including the design process. It was very easy to contact Dave. He always promptly returned our calls and answered any questions we had. Overall the project went very smooth. There was one major hiccup in the process that I feel needs to be mentioned. Our kitchen island "in my humble opinion" is the most beautiful island I've ever seen. However with it being an 11 foot island, it was difficult to design it to fit my slab of granite so I didn't have a seam. As a result we had the change the measurements of the island and make many adjustments. This is standard I'm sure and would have been okay if it weren't for the next issue. Once my kitchen was fully installed the granite people came out to measure and informed me that I needed supports under my island or else my granite would crack. Well I already had chunky posts in both sides and was upset that the granite installers waited until measuring to tell me this. If they would have pointed this out sooner it could have been easy to change the design of the island at nobody's expense. Dave was very helpful. He made us three columns to fit under our island and had the paint matched. We picked them up and my husband installed them with no problem. My only tip for you as a consumer is to be sure your granite installer speaks with Dave through the process with the drawings to prevent this type of mishap. It would have saved us a lot of worry. Overall I would definitely hire Dave again. He's an honest man and went above and beyond to give me my dream kitchen.

I cannot say enough kind words about David and his company. They made beautiful custom stained maple cabinets for a home we needed to sell quickly. His work came in within 8 weeks and is of utmost quality. I'm convinced it sold our home as quickly as it did.

Dave Mast is a highly skilled craftsman who is genuinely interested in exceeding customer expectations. He takes great pride in all project elements from design, to wood working, creating beautiful cabinets with furniture grade finishes. His commitment to producing high quality cabinetry and expert installation combined with a very honest approach to doing business is truly refreshing. Dave built our custom kitchen with many features including custom crown molding, an appliance garage, pull out drawers, hidden trash bins, lazy susan, soft close drawers & doors, and a kitchen island. He also built our fireplace mantle, a center piece seen by all who visit our home, which is truly an exceptional piece and compliments 14' of stone work. Dave built all laundry room cabinets including a custom cabinet with cat access for food & liter, and a matching custom shelf incorporating a decorative clothes rod as well. Cabinets for all 3 bathrooms with matching mirror frames and a whirlpool tub surround were also completed and look stunning. He also built our entire wet bar complete with bubble glass and lights in our new Weaver Custom Home. I would highly recommend Dave if you're looking for superior workmanship at a fair price. Our cabinets are beautifully finished and he went out of his way to make sure the fit and function were perfect! We love them!

It went great! We couldn't be happier. Dave went above and beyond. His shop unfortunately burnt down in the middle of our project and was still able to meet our timeline for installation. We just happened to find Dave and his shop as we were picking up some furniture in Amish Country and we are glad we did. We found that we ended up with cabinets that are much higher quality and fit our spaces much better than stock cabinets from a big box store for about the same price. Check with Dave before buying any of the inferior quality cabinets at a big box store. We are currently having High Point build a locker type cabinet for our entryway.

My wife and I searched long and hard to find the right person to help us finish our kitchen remodeling project. The total project took us three years to complete. The final phase was getting custom cabinets along one wall of our kitchen and adding a large island in our kitchen/eating area. After searching high and low, we found Dave Mast from High Point Cabinets on Angie's List. Dave came to our home and measured the room, discussed ideas, and put together some preliminary drawings. Once we decided to move forward we visited his home/workshop in Apple Creek, OH. Dave was very helpful giving his opinion, offering ideas and suggestions, and helping us make good decisions all around. Dave was very accommodating and easy to work with. We were able to make all of our final decisions during this one meeting at his home. After the meeting at his home we put down our deposit and work began. Everything was delivered and installed in January '14. The craftsmanship is excellent, the installers did a great job, and we love our kitchen. We found Dave to be very skilled as a craftsman, and very honest as a business man. Everything was done with financial transparency and integrity. We got to meet Dave's family and spend a little time in his home during the project. We felt very comfortable working with Dave throughout the entire process. We would highly recommend High Point Cabinets and hope to work with them again.

When my wife and I were looking to remodel our kitchen, I looked on Angie's list to find a cabinet maker. High Point Cabinets' profile showed very positive reviews, so we set up a meeting with Dave. My first impression was this guy "will get the job done". My instincts were correct. Dave is truly a master and "artist" at his profession. I would recommend him to anyone without hesitation. The cabinets turned out absolutely beautiful and better than expected. The quality cannot be beat. Dave is very responsive and professional with any questions that we had about the process and is a joy to work with. Also, his installation team (Wayne and company) were amazing. For example, our new refrigerator came the same day the team were installing the cabinets, and Wayne helped us install the water source to the fridge as a coutesy. They were great. Conclusion: Dave is the best at what he does and you will not be disappointed.

The David Mast family is a pleasure to know and be associated with. David is someone you can take at face value, and that's always refreshing these days. He makes it a low stress, pleasurable experience by meaning what he says, letting you know what your options are and what you can expect from him, and by honoring his commitments in a timely fashion. Add to that his woodworking artistry and his installer, Wayne and his team who helped make it all come to life, and you have a very satisfying experience. David stayed reasonably accessable by phone and responded to messages usually the same day when he wasn't able to answer the phone when I called. I never felt ignored or put off. My wife and I were invited down to his home and shop to see some cabinets he had built for another customer so he could get a feel for exactly what we were after, because hickory, as a species, can range from mild to wild where knots and color verigation are concerned, and his priority was to be able to present us with exactly what we were after. The installation happened in two days, and don't think that because the installation is complete that you will never see him again. Minor issues after the fact were dealt with to fruition and I never felt abandonded. I also appreciated being able to keep the cost down because he was willing to work with me in letting me take care of the demo and prep work needed prior to the cabinet installation. He was also instrumental in helping me procure a countertop provider who included custom finishing work, over and obove what I would've procured on my own, and at a cost that was lower than other estimates I had attained thus far. This was just David being David, because our business agreement included nothing concerning countertops. He had just garnered a sense of what I was after and called me with a possible opportunity, that had paid off in spades. My wife Kathy and I are constantly finding ourselves standing in our kitchen and admiring our new cabinets, they are beautiful. I would look forward to working with David at any point in the future if the opportunity arises and we will be forever grateful for working with him thus far. I chose High Point Cabinets because it was highly rated and had a Super Service Award, which I believe should stand on it's merits and continue to be in effect. Overall, the process with Dave was excellent. I met Dave at the Columbus Home and Garden Show in the Spring of 2013. Out of the 10-15 custom cabinet makers, cabinet salespeople selling pre-made cabinets, and cabinet re-facers, Dave was the only person who would give me a ballpark quote on the spot with the drawing I had. I really appreciated that. Dave then took my drawing and send he would get in touch with me in a week or two (since the Home Show was ongoing for several more days) with a more precise quote. About a week and a half later, Dave sent me a fairly detailed quote/estimate. I continued my cabinet search for a little while, but realized that Dave had a good price, and in fact, an unbelievably good price considering that these are completely custom cabinets. Accordingly, I got in touch with Dave several weeks later and arranged a time to come to his showroom and make some wood selections and customization selections, etc. I went to the showroom a little while later and made all of my selections. I talked with Dave about everything several times over and felt that I understood the process. We then set up a time for him to come measure and view the actual kitchen. Dave came and measured everything precisely. At that time we also went over the plans again to finalize all the details and customization. Dave also had some CAD drawings prepared of the projected final product. After that meeting with Dave, I set up a time for his installers to come. When they came they worked very efficiently and were very precise with their work, which I greatly appreciate. Unfortunately, a few of the drawers had the wrong design on them. When I came home the first evening of installation and saw the drawers, I was about to call Dave when Dave actually called me before I could call him. I was pleased that he called to discuss the mix-up, and I had confidence that it was minor and that Dave would rectify it. The installers finished the job on a second day, and Dave came back a few weeks later to fix the drawer faces. It took a little while for Dave to come back, as the drawer faces had to be built. At that point, the project was complete. Dave was always very good about explaining whatever needed explained over the phone, and was pretty easy to get ahold of. We actually talked fairly frequently, just to stay in touch about the process. Also, the initial quote was very good, and even with pretty much total customization, I walked away with a final price that was about half as much as what some contractors selling pre-fabricated cabinets quoted me, and those quotes were with minimal customization. I now have unbelievably nice cabinets that probably add $20,000 of value to my house, but only cost about $9,000.
