Mid-Valley Chimney Repair & Sweep

They were careful not to track dirt and mud inside the house. The chimney works great.

Called Mid-Valley, who I found on Angie's List. The picture had a powerful impact. The price was more reasonable than the other two suppliers. That,coupled with the picture, made the selection an easy choice. He was also willing to allow a cash discount in lieu of my using a credit card. Also, important to me was the 30 year transferable warranty. The work was done on time and professionally. Due to the chimney height, I have conducted a ground inspection, which indicates good work. I would recommend Mid-Valley and Matthew Simpson to those needing quality chimney work.

They were on-time, clean, and didn't waste time. Told us how to treat what they had done for best results. I would recommend them to anyone.

Chimney sweep. I was advied by an HVAC tech that the furnace in a rental property was blowing back CO and he suggested a chimney sweep. Naturally, the tenant and I were very concerned because of the potential health hazard. I called Mid-Valley and explained the situation and Matt worked it in for the next morning, which was oustanding as this was during a very busy season for these guys. Mid-Valley is now my go-to for any chimney related services.

Mid-Valley team called ahead to alert us they were coming. They were on time. They put down tarps to contain the dust and soot, and cleaned up after themselves. They also inspected the chimney inside (optical scope) and out. They didn't try to generate unnecessary work. I intend to use them in the future.

Matt was prompt, very polite and finished in a timely fashion. He was very good about answering my questions, letting me look at the video inspection as it was happening, and giving me information for future care. He was meticulous in cleaning up after himself; other than the clean fireplaces, there was no evidence he had even been there!

Our 23 year old chimney had several bricks that were flaking off due to moisture entering via a deteriorated crown, poor quality of some of the mortar work and probably some faulty bricks. The freezing and thawing over the years resulted in dozens of bricks spalling and deteriorating. Fortunately, we experienced no water leakage damage, but it was just a matter of time. I chose Mid-Valley Chimney Repair & Sweep based on my assessment of Matt Simpson's knowledge of the problem and recommended repairs, the quoted cost and the consistent high reviews of the quality of his Company's work. They removed and replaced 29 courses of bricks, added a 5" cement crown, a new stainless steel cap and sealed the entire chimney. I am completely satisfied with the job as completed. The crew was professional, the job was completed expeditiously (including some Saturday work) and the cleanup was just fine. With the quality of the new bricks and mortar along with a 5" crown, I'm confident this chimney will be standing tall long after I'm gone.

The provider showed up as agreed. He was more interested in selling me a new fireplace insert and when I said the cost was to much($3,500 and up) he said my chimney was unsafe and I shouldn't use it. He didn't even inspect the chimney, he then gave me some literature and left. So I am still looking for someone to inspect my chimney...

I felt provider was not concerned with my schedule, only his schedule. We both work during the day, my husband left work early to be home when provider was suppose to be there, and provider wanted to reschedule to tne next morning. Will not contact provider again.

The service was great - very prompt response and professional. We appreciated the time that was taken to explain the problem to us and the variety of solutions presented to help us understand all the options available within our budget. We would absolutely use them again.

Excellent! I called to make an appointment (no issues reaching Matt), we agreed on a date and Matt gave me a 1 hour window of when he would arrive. When the agreed date arrived, Matt called and confirmed the time and arrived within the time frame he had stated. He explained what he would be doing before starting then covered the area with clean ground cloths before starting. He moved equipment in/out of the house and cleaned as he went. Cracks in the firebox were repaired without additional cost. The internal inspection showed the inside of the chimney was in good shape but the external mortar between the bricks was wearing and recommended a sealant to slow the process. I had him applied the sealant. I felt that I received excellent service for a fair price and would recommend Mid-Valley Chimney Repair and Service to anyone.

Matt was the technician. He was a nice guy and did a great job on cleaning and inspecting my chimney. He let me know that my chimney cap was getting worn and I had him replace that. I was very impressed with him.

Did a great job. Matched the bricks very well, owner was easy to contact and discuss the job, workers were great. I had four quotes, all were within a few hundred dollars, I felt that the owner was very careful to make sure my chimney blended with my house that it was safe to use, and was willing to work around my schedule. Mine was a big job and I needed to make sure it was done correctly. The owner cleaned my chimney and fixed some minor repairs that were found inside my chimney.

Matt was very courteous and professional in setting up the appointment. We were under a time crunch because of a contingency on the home. Matt fitted us in to his busy schedule. He arrived promptly when scheduled and got to work. He detected serious problems with the exterior chimney and documented those problems complete with photos. The chimney had not been swept for quite a while. At the time, we were definitely buying the home, so I asked Matt if he could do the sweep (which wasn't part of his busy schedule). He said he could come back at another time which was fine. Later, he told me that he would go ahead and do the sweep as well. I really appreciated his efforts. He also gave me a detailed estimate of the repairs which I needed to give to the sellers of the property. And, he did an excellent job of explaining the severe problems with the chimney. Overall, an excellent performance that went beyond what I expected.

Matt showed up exactly when he said he would and his cost was right on target with the estimate. The people who work for Matt were pleasant (no swearing or smoking) even when the job seemed extremely hard, hot and frustrating. I was so impressed I made cookies for them and they were very appreciative. When you have work performed on a chimney, you need to get it righ the first time, especially given the cost and extent of repairs we were facing. I'm glad we chose Mid-Valley CHimney and I would definitely use them again.

Matthew the owner came out himself to look at what we needed. He explained everything. His crew showed up at 8:30 sharp both days, and worked nonstop. They were pleasant and answered questions. They cleaned up after themselves . Overall I was pleased and would hire them again. We thought the price was a little high, but after doing some comparisons, it really is about right. They are great !!

They are absolutly excellent. They are one of the best service company that i have worked with. This company is very very impressive. It is hard to find good people in dayton ohio to do work, but this company is great and very impressive. They also went out of their way to make sure my new roof was not damaged. They cleaned up very well.

The first phase (2 days) was removal of old fireplace inerts and installingng the new stone over the existing fireplace brick. The masons were very professional and extremely neat! Very polite individuals. When they were finished they cleaned everything - even blew off the deck. Third day was the installation of the direct-vent unit (which included piping up the existing chimney and a new chimney topper. Again very professional and neat. Matt was great to work with, punctual, accommodating and extremely professional. A job well. We were so happy with the end result.

Mid-Valley came early, due to a cancellation. The job was completed in two days according to contract. I was at work and would not have known that anyone had been there, each day, as all areas were very clean. My husband was home ..... the crew went about their work, quickly, quietly and efficiently, as possible. All questions were answered at the free inspection, completed by the owner, himself. We put up a sign for about a week. One of my neighbors is now having Mid-Valley do some work for them. I will certainly recommend Mid-Valley to anyone needing chimney work.

They were so good! We had two people working for four days. They worked just as hard at the end of the day as they did in the beginning of the day. They cleaned up after themselves, they were very professional and worked extra hard.

Mid Valley was great the whole way through the process, from getting an estimate through doing the actual job. Our chimney was crumbling in so many places that we opted to replace the entire thing. The quote was reasonable and Mid Valley did the job on time and efficiently, and cleaned up completely, including removal of all the old bricks and debris. All I had to do was pick out the brick for the new chimney. Highly recommended.
