We called these guys to remove 2 trees in our front yard. They removed the one tree with no issues. Then they removed the top of the other tree but when they went to cut down to the stump, he keep burning up chains. After 9 chains and a week later, he used his dump truck to break it off and discovered concrete down the middle of it. Now I'm no arborist, and I know that was common practice to do to a rotting hollow tree to re-enforce it. So he told me that he couldn;t grind out the stump because of the concrete, but they were in the process of getting a bobcat with a jackhammer and when they did he could break it up. I paid him another $100 for his troubles and effort. He said he would be back in a month when he had the equipment. He never showed. Yes he has the bobcat, as I've seen him around town. I must have called him 100 times over the course of the next 3 months. at first it was excuses, or next week, or blah blah blah. then he stop answering my calls. So fast forward to today, I still have this tree stump that is 3 feet above grade. The work he did, he did good, but I don;t think he has much experience, and if theres any difficulties, even if you compensate him, he'll run for the hills.
