Terminix - Fairfield -Termite & Pest Control

We have a contract for termites. It is an annual contract and I was able to get a discount rate of $200 for the year. They have improved on their customer service. It was horrible initially but they have greatly improved on that.

The price is part of our annual agreement we have with them. I'm comfortable with their service. They're pretty thorough when they have to do anything. They're very responsive. They're here when they say they will be here and they do what they say they will do and they're out of here.

The tech came out to the house, examined the issue and provided a quote which thoroughly described the problems. That is where the good part ended. The technician did not describe at all any of the actual work that would be done. I called Terminex, twice and was put on hold for what seemed like a long time. Long enough that I hung up the first time and called back. After calling the main number, I was told that they would connect me to the Liaison. The Liaison said they would contact the tech and leave him a message to call me back. I waited for hours, no call. I called the next morning and was told it could take anywhere from 24-48 hours for the tech to call me back. Ridiculous. No description of the work to be done, slow response time-fired before they even did any work.

We've been using them for years. I've had the same worker for two years. He's prompt. He does what he needs to do.

On Sat 9/20 I went online to both Terminix and Orkin requesting more info on their services. Within 30 inutes I had a call from Terminix. They thanked me for the inquiry and told me a local rep would call Monday. On Mon I was contacted by Matt and we set up an appt for Tuesday. In the meantime I got an email back from Orkin - they emailed me a phone # to call... I emailed them back a 'no thank-you' Matt arrived on time. He inspected the fence where I found termites and inspected the entire house. He wrote up the treatment proposal including a second year ($349 yr) for an additional 10% reduction on top of the 10% off coupon from Angie's list. Matt took great care to explain everything in detail. The treatment was scheduled for the next day. Two very professional technicians arrived and went promptly to work spraying the foundation outside (2 ft up and 2 ft out) and installing bait stations every 8'. I chose Terminix for their service (in business 85 yrs) and their guarantee = Unlimited damage repair for as long as I keep my plan. ---------------- Update: On Sunday Oct 19th I requested that terminix re-install some of the bait stations. Some of them were a just a bit higher than ground level and I was concerned that they may pose a trip hazard in the Spring. The technicians came out on Thursday Oct 23rd and checked all of the stations. They reinstalled as needed so they are all flush with the ground. Great Service!

This was single family rental unit. Tenants did not adequately treat pets for fleas. The Terminix treatment worked so I'm a satisfied customer. However, there was a hard sell to get a yearly contract for reapplication. Since there is high turnover in this unit (renting to students) I didn't feel it was necessary and opted out of an automatic retreatment. Yet, another application was made and I was billed. I called the office and made it clear that I was did not want a yearly contract. Lesson learned -- don't tell the person who comes to your home you don't want a contract. Apparently he gets paid more if he sells that renewal to you! Contact the office to assure another treatment isn't applied automatically.

We've been using them for over 10 years. They come out quarterly and then whenever we want and we pay an annual fee of $300. Any additional services are already covered in the annual fee. They are consistent in sending out the same person for every job so we've developed a relationship. He comes and explains everything to us.

The service was good. They were on time and their work is effective. I would recommend them.

We just used Terminix and they were fine. We got our house treated and I was quite happy. They definitely earned an "A" in all of your categories. I thought they were very good. They explained what they were going to do. They answered some questions that I had. This is the first time I have used Terminix services in this area and I believe they came from Dayton, but when I lived in another house in Coshocton, Ohio, I had a great deal of trouble with termites in a house being built in the 1890s and they were wonderful. I used their services there for about 20 years.

They recommended insulation work after the inspection. I think that they over stated the need and it was a hard sell. I wish I would have shopped around before making a decision.

I have yet to compare them to other providers in their field. They are constantly trying to sell me termite services. They do keep the pests away 99% of the time. Occassionaly, there is a problem. They are very prompt and effecticve at taking care of the problem at no additional charge.

Terminix rep came to home same day as we called for an estimate for service to get rid of bugs in the home. Service done several days later. Technician, Joe, was on time and explained what he would do. I was to leave, he would call and give me a time to return. Returned at agreed time and hardwood floors leading to treatment area had slick, slippery covering with footprints in it. I called the service number and was asked if I tried to wipe it up.....no, not knowing what it was, was it dangerous to touch, would it harm the wood finish. Office person had technician call back, who insisted he did not track anything into house and couldn't come clean it up until the next day. This substance was slippery and in our main traffic pattern so we cleaned it up, hoping not to make it worse. No one from customer service ever contacted us regarding same.technician returned for a follow up visit while we were on vacation. He had security codes for entrance and did not use them so alarm company called us and police showed up. Why he kept going and did not call us or a supervisor from his company is beyond me. So far, treatment has worked but would never renew contract or call Terminix again

They price is high but they provide a good service.

We've used them since 2006. The person they send out is very professional. He has been with us since 2006. They try to send out the same person. We even moved to a new area and they kept him with us.

They were very good and answered all of our questions. They told us things we could do to get rid of them. The offered to come back out. They offered coverage for a year but It was a lot more expensive.

I like that the treatments seem to be effective and that the pest control works. They don’t let me know that they are coming until a day before so that is poor communication.

They come and do an outside inspection when I'm not even home.

Sometimes it is hard to be at home when they come. They do give us either a morning or afternoon time thing. In terms of responsiveness, I had one experience where all of a sudden, I had an infestation of flies in the house and they could not seem to get out and take care of it. I had to take care of it myself by getting a bomb. I almost quit them at that time. Actually, I think we were out of town and somebody was staying here watching the house and freaked out by all these flies and trying to handle it at a distance. I was not satisfied with the way they handled it.

They gave us good service. We felt that we got rid of the termites, the ants and insects and we felt good about it.

If I have nay complaints about anything, they will tend to that. They have come out here at different times and have taken care of some wasps we had boring into the house. They have also put out bait for ants. I have been happy with them.

They are okay, neither terrible nor great. We have a dog and with mild winter and summer we don’t if the insects are going to be a problem so we kept them on. The service guy that comes out is very good. He is always knocks on the door, and he doesn’t just come by and treat because a lot of things he does is outside, so that’s good. They are a full service company when I have a contract with them. They always call before they are going to be there.

They notify me when they are coming. We walk aroudn with them if we are home. They email and mail a copy of the report afterwards.

They come out and spray our home inside and outside as needed. We have a contract with them.

The pest control seemed fine, but they are supposed to follow up every 3 months or quarterly and we have not heard from them so we are going to call them. So far everything seems to be fine, we had carpenter ants and we found one recently in the house so we've got to get them back out. It was expensive for what they did. We will continue using them for a while.

The annual contract costs 230 dollars but for the termite baiting system installation they charged around 900 dollars. I have had them do a treatment little over ten years ago and I thought their service was fine, so, I had them come back out this time again. They did a good job first time so I stuck with them after that.
