Sherriff-Goslin Roofing

They have done several projects at my house. They were professional, fast, competent and their cost was quite reasonable. I got their phone number from one of my employees and went with them because of his high recommendation. There is only one roofing company I would use in the future and it is Sherriff-Goslin. One added note, Tom (who runs the place) and Justin Janszen (who is one of his managers) are incredible people to work with.

Justin and his crew did a great job!! They arrived on time, did a great job, and cleaned the area. I would highly recommend this group.

This company installed our new roof several years ago. We recently found shingles in our yard. Have called them 3 times to get an inspection, left message, and no one calls back. Makes me wonder how they treat new customers now. We have scheduled with a competitor.

We had Justin, the field supervisor, out for 2 separate water leak issues. The first of these issues had been a window water leak where the roof line and an odd placed window meets. This leak was ongoing for 4+ years and 4 other separate roofing/siding/window companies had tried their 'fix' without fixing the issue. Justin easily spotted the trouble area and repaired a 4+ year long ordeal within an hour. We have had multiple hard rains since and no more leak! We called him a second time for a different roof leak. He found an issue with how the shingles were laid down where 2 roof lines meet. He did a simple repair to the roof shingles and we are hopeful that this will solve the issue. We will definitely be using Sherriff-Goslin Roofing for any future roofing needs. And we will definitely be recommending them to our friends and family.

Provider said roof actually looked fine but there was a pipe seal issue and he repaired it for free.

I asked several roofing companies to contact me when I attended the Cincinnati Home and Garden Show in March 2017. Tom and his group were the only ones that called. They made a long trip to examine my roof, only to tell me that it did not yet need to be replaced. Both reps that came to my house were very polite and professional. They did find several shingle tabs broken off, repaired them on the spot, and would not even take a payment when I offered. In a few more years when my roof does need to be replaced, they will be the company I will call.

We used Sherriff-Goslin when we were in need of a new roof on our old house. They were reasonably priced and did an excellent job in a very timely manner. When we moved and had issues with our roof on our new house, they came out and were able to quickly and effectively fix the issue. When we need a new roof on our new house, we will definitely have them back out.

The field supervisor, Justin Janszen, came on the appointed day. He attached the downspout piece that had come loose. He then inspected the gutters and pronounced them ok. When I asked for the bill, Justin simply said there was no need to pay for such a small effort on his part, especially when he had been in the vicinity for other work anyway. I had expected at least a trip charge and asked him if he was sure. Justin reaffirmed that he did not want payment. He simply asked me to keep their outfit in mind for future jobs including upgrading the gutter guards in the future. I found their behavior courteous - while making the appointment for service and while delivering the service. I will definitely use them for future needs.

First and only roofer I would call because I trust their professional field supervisors opinion and estimates on what needs to be repaired, replaced or redone. In this particular case it was Justin who came out and gave his professional advice on one leaking skylight. The roof was new ( from a previous owner) but they never replaced the aging skylights when done. Justin's advice was not what I wanted to hear but was the right one. Replace both. Turns out the crew came out the next day and did the job in a few hours. They did a excellent job, cleaned up after and Justin came out at the end to make sure the job was done right. There are many roofing contractors out their today but Sherriff Goslin Roofing is the only one I trust and would call mainly for one reason: I feel that they are honest and not trying to rip me off by giving me bad advice just to get my business.

I was not happy with them at all. I got a quote from them but it took me forever. They didn’t give me a proper estimate until I insisted and then the estimate was several thousand dollars higher than expected. I will give them a low rating. They came out several times and wanted to do the work but I said: “No quote, no work.” So basically it took me kind of a push to get a written quote from them and then the quote was not anything like what we have discussed. I had too much trouble having them comply to my request. They were professional but they were not responsive in providing what they should have provided. I din't use them and I will not use them in the future.

Working with the folks at Sherriff Goslin roofing was a great experience. Justin came out and spent a good 3 hours reviewing my roof and taking notes on what I wanted done. We sat down and discussed all my options, and what Sherriff Goslin had to offer. Justin explained how Sherriff Goslin came to be and why they are here now. He went over all the materials they use for the roof as well as the internal components of the shingles by providing samples of everything including the underlayment, moisture barrier, and samples of the shingles I wanted to use on my house. The crew came out to my house at the time they said they would be there and work diligently to get the work done while keeping up with quality workmanship. Justin was working along side the crew as well as Tom the manager (don't always see that with other companies these days). My thanks to Tom, Justin, and the crew that worked on my roofing project.

Everything went well. Tom visited and explained everything beforehand. It looks great. They cleaned up great. It continues to look and function great.

I called Sheriff Goslin on Monday after I discovered a wet spot on my ceiling. I had used them just about this time last year on our previous house and knew what a good job they had done. Justin told me he would check his schedule and would call me back the next day. He did and arrived shortly before I had to go pick my son up from school. Justin inspected the roof and quickly discovered plywood exposed near a roof vent. He stayed while I left to pick my son up and when I returned, he had not only fixed the exposed area by reworking the shingles, but he had also hammered down some loose nails and sealed them on the ridgeline. He took pictures before and after so I could see what he had done and emailed them to me so I was able to show my husband when he returned. I won't mention what Justin charged for coming out and helping us, but let's just say it was a wonderful blessing! Justin showed me how many of my builder's grade shingles were already loose on the edges and he let me know how much life we probably had left on the roof. Let's just say, when we do need a new roof, I know who I will be calling. I have already let some of my neighbors know since they too have already had some previous problems.

They did a really good job. I thought it was a reasonable price and they did it quick. They worked with the insurance company to get it settled. It was after a hail storm. Everything went smoothly.

Immediately after the work, a hurricane blew through Cincinnati and did prove that it was good installation because not a single shingle came off. They also were good for servicing things after the installation. A few years later, they helped us with some other things that weren't necessarily part of the original estimate.

Installed roof, gutter guards. Completed in 1 day, had 6 or 7 men working on it. When complete they cleaned up the mess completely. The only way you knew they were there is the beautiful roof.

They were awesome. They came in, they did their job, they cleaned up, and they left. They did a great job and the roof looks really nice. It only took them less than a week to do the work. The only thing I would have liked for them to mention up front was to suggest to me to cover or move my lawn ornaments/plants from the perimeter of the house. We had a lawn ornament get bent in the process.

Justin Janszen and his crew were here 2 and 1/2 days. They removed old shingles, laid down a water barrier and applied new shingles. Also replaced all of the old gutter guards. One area was rotted through so they replaced plywood and facia and painted to match. They arrived when they said they would and cleaned up after themselves. Justin did a complete walk-through with us both before and after the project. He took the time to explain all the work beforehand and thoroughly answered all our questions. The crew was very professional. I would highly recommend them. The roof came with a 10 year guarantee, labor and materials.

They did a wonderful job. The price was worth it. They were very professional. They sent out a team of 6-8 guys with up-to-date equipment. They started at 8 in the morning and ended at 5. I didn't have to worry about anything. There was no debris in the yard. I was impressed. They did everything as promised. The salesman was awesome and straightforward. They followed up to make sure everything that they did was promised.

We really appreciate the help and will definitely keep this company in mind when we have any future needs.

They arrived at the set time with all the materials and workers and started working. Each person knew what to do, cleaned up the mess as they went and made sure they had us protect in case it rained working past the 5 o'clock quitting time on Friday afternoon. When they finished on Saturday we could not tell anyone had been here until we looked up at the roof because the area around the house was as clean or better than when they started.

Excellent. Showed up as scheduled. Completed in two days. Kept yard clean.

I had these folks and two others come out and check my roof for hail damage. The gentlemen didn't think that there was hail damage, instead he thought that there were defective shingles on the roof. He did provide me with an estimate to replace the roof. The other two roofing companies thought that it may be hail damage, and suggested I turn in a claim. after running a Hail Map report I found that there was good sized hail in the area of my home twice over the last 2 years.

This review comes 11 years since our experience with Sherriff-Goslin. Consider it a long-term report card. The initial service was very good; they were friendly and explained clearly what our roofing choices were. We went with the Art-Loc shingles since they had such a distinctive look and looked like they might stand up to wind well. Distinctive- I have yet to see another home in our area with such a nice-looking roof! In 11 years the shingles have not faded or stained. The've made it through the remnants of at least 3 major hurricanes in that time without a single piece broken or displaced (very, very few of the homes in this neighborhood can say that!) The installation: They came in with a crew that stripped off the old roof in a whirl-wind of activity; I was blown away how fast they stripped the roof, hauled away the old materials, and magnetically found all the nails in the yard. They really left no nails to be found! A different crew then came in to install the new roof and seal around the flashing. The job was done faster than I ever would have believed. I will definitely use them again and recommend to anyone.
