Had a 4 foot crack in my poured basement foundation. This crack leaks quite a bit during a good rain. Jaco was prompt and quick. Good work done fast.

Received call from technician with estimated time of arrival and verifying address. He arrived sooner than estimated and began the repair. Nate explained the complete process and answered my questions. He was very pleasant and professional in demeanor. Upon completing the repair, he cleaned the area and explained the curing time. I will gladly call Jaco for any future waterproofing needs.

The employees arrived on time everyday and were very professional. Had to have all the items listed done at different times and they were great about calling and scheduling the work (depending on weather). They had to come back and re-route one of the downspouts because it was not working properly. The guys came back and corrected the work within a couple days and it was no problem at all.

I hired JACO in July of 2013 to slab jack the front porch of my home. The truck and two young men showed up and were very polite. However, after placing the mixture under the cement slabs it became obvious that more mixture would be needed than was brought to the worksite. The two workers left to perform a small job and then returned to my home to place the rest of the mixture under the porch. After one of the workers talked with his superior by phone he notified me they would need more material and would come back after the "salesman" came to look over the job to determine how much more material would be needed. The salesman came two days later. He called me and said I wouldn't like it. He was right. I would need to pay an extra $1,600 plus it would take two additional days and two more trucks of material to complete the job. It was and is obvious that they were trying to recoup money because the salesman did not know how to bid the job correctly. I placed calls to the company twice and my calls were never returned. Is that good business? No, it is not and totally unprofessional. I cannot in good conscience recommend this company. Update as of 09/19/13: 1.) It was clearly identifiable what was required for the job to be properly completed. There isn't an additional area(s). It is all the same slab, which any person can see by looking straight down and viewing the area of that same slab that is not filled in. 2.) A reputable company should keep their word when bidding a job. The company should stand behind their bid. The original bid was $525 and an additional charge of $1,600 was asked. Why would I trust this second bid? I have no confidence that it would stop there-the company may decide to ask for more money, again. In summary, the bottom line is the job was not finished. Again, in good conscience, I would not recommend this company based on their incompletion of the job and their total ineptness in communication.

The original work that was bid was completed for the original bid price. There were additional areas that the customer wanted leveled. These additional areas had excessive damage. When a salesman bids a job it is with the understanding that normal building practices were used. This additional work had an excessive void under the slab which is why the crew stopped and asked for an estimator to take a look after they drilled the holes. It was then determined that the additional work could be done but that it would cost more than originally proposed. Much more since the job was very different from a usual repair. Was the repair completed by someone else? Are you still interested in getting the additional work done?

Had glowing referrals for Jaco from a trusted source who had used them multiple times in the past. Went to BBB and Angie's List to check them out before call. Hmmm, found a 10% off Angie's List coupon. OK, called Jaco. Young lady who took my call would not schedule a technician for a look-see and/or estimate. She said it would be $350 if vertical crack was 8' long or less and 1/4" wide or less. No "estimate" needed. OK, little strange I have to "schedule" the repair before I really even know exactly what they were going to do (young lady could not remember the technical words to tell me!), so I proceeded to schedule the repair based upon the referrals I had . . . and 10% off coupon. When technician arrived as scheduled, I first asked for him to explain the entire process . . . he did . . . very thorough, in a professional manner. I said lets go ahead and showed him my printed AL coupon. "Oh, I'm not allowed to take/honor that AL coupon for this . . . that coupon is for STRUCTURAL and STRESS cracks only, yours is a SHRINKAGE crack." Whuuhh? After discussion, I still had him proceed, but I told him I would probably be writing an AL review. He said "Good, do that and maybe they will change the wording on the coupon." Whuuhh? AL coupon clearly says: [ Angie's list members coupon . . . Coupon for 'Jaco Waterproofing' Coupon 10% off up to $750.00 for Angie's List members ] which I am! There is no asterisks, limitation, fine print, or any restrictions of any kind. Just says 10% off to AL members, which the technician knew I was because I said so and I was showing him the printed coupon. So, Jaco would NOT honor their own AL coupon. Disappointing, and on the verge of dishonest and/or deception, in my opinion. Contrary to another AL review writer, I did get my mailed 10-year warranty and receipt (technician had taken my check but could not leave ANY paperwork or receipt with me at time of service . . . strange process, customer gets no receipt at time of service!) within the promised one week. Bottom line, for the alleged 10% discount, Jaco soured me on an otherwise positive and professional experience. I just hope the foundation repair lasts for the 10-year warranty.

Basement was leaking water during hard rains. They came out and looked at the cracks and said our Foundation was bowed and we needed a structural engineer to look at it. They gave me a card and left. My husband contacted him back and they came back out. This time a different person looked at my walls and he too said I needed more than just my cracks filled in the basement. He did not want to do it. I had him talk to my husband and he went ahead and filled the cracks. He only filled 2 of the 3 that were supposed to be filled. He also had me believing my foundation would be falling down within a year. So I asked him to write up a proposal on what needs to be done and let us look at it. That was never done. So we contacted several more contractors to look at our basement and tell us what they think needs to be done. We ended up going with another company on Angie's list. I would like to add that my cracks that they filled do not leak so far, and we have had several hard rains.

The gentleman from Jaco was friendly and professional. He came in and looked around at my basement, asked me what I wanted done, told me what they'd do, asked if I had any questions, and then went out to his truck to write up a written proposal. It was pretty quick. He didn't really try to sell me on anything, he said what they'd do and that was it. Wasn't high pressure at all. Overall, their price was very competitive with the company I chose to do the work, and were a strong contender. They both said they'd do the same thing, for the same price. However, when I learned that someone I knew had the other company do their basement and how happy they were I went with the other company. I believe Jaco would have probably done an equally good job.

Poorly. We had to keep calling back to have them do the job well and it seemed to always be another amount of money.
Description of Work: We had some water leaking into our garage storage room. Jaco came over and assessed the problem as being minor and that we needed to do some crack filling. That was $500. The next rain storm came and water was still coming in. I also had noticed water coming in from a crack in the wall in the garage. They indeed came back and did more crack filling yet (for another $500 since they claimed it was a new area, a new leak) completely forgot the crack in the wall. I had to call back yet again for them to come for another visit. Before the visit took place their filling broke down and water is still in. I cancelled the final appointment. My impression is that they are quick fix folks that just do small amounts but don't really have the team on hand to diagnose the issue.

Overall services performed were good. the biggest issue I had was getting my warranty paperwork from them (which I admit is partially my fault that I didn't keep calling them to confirm that they sent it). There was an issue with the sump pump that they put in and they came back out and swapped it out for a new one. Jay was good about looking over what we could do to keep costs low and compared to the competition he was willing to offer a superior service at a competitive price. I would use them again, and recommend them to anyone that needs them in the future.
Description of Work: • 2 foundation crack injection fixes • digging out and resetting the drainage in part of the basement • digging out and putting into place a new sump pump with battery backup • filling in the old sump pump • minor exterior work by putting in some fill dirt around a low patch and cinder blocks next to the driveway to channel the water away from said low patch

I had this repaired last year by a man who did it on the side. It started leaking again about 9 months later. I called the man to see if he could come and give it another squirt or whatever it was he did. He said he would call me back with a date. After a couple more calls from me it was obvious he didn't want to come back. I got on Angie's List for foundation repair and was satisfied with Jayco's reviews and also their responses. I called them and they were out the next week. They fixed the new leak and also gave me a guarantee for the new work. I could not have been happier with this company! Thank you Jaco and thank you Angie's List.

Overall it went very well. I couldn't have asked for more.
Description of Work: The slab under the corner of my house had sunk about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch and extended several feet in two directions. They drilled four holes through the tile and one hole in the adjacent room about 1 1/2-2 in. in diameter and filled underneath with a mixture of cement, sand and ball diamond dirt. It was fast, clean and brought the slab back up to level with the baseboard. I wanted to watch but they were done before I knew it was happening. They hung plastic tarps to cover doorways from tile dust. They did an excellent job for a very reasonable price.

I was very pleased with the results. The crack in the wall was injected with a foam/epoxy and it sealed the crack. The crack redeveloped in a fairly small area, and it began to leak again. However, they came back out and repaired the new crack at no charge. I was very happy with the new results as well. It has been over a month since the new crack developed, and the floor is bone dry again.

The techs were very professional, listened well and were extremely responsive. They answered all of my questions and did a great job of leveling my floor with out having to tear up the entire section. They saved me a bunch of money in the process by choosing to drill a few wholes and raising the sloping slab with a mud like mixture.

As I noted above, we had a leak that Jaco repaired two years ago that came back recently, just before we were going to close in the walls in a remodel. I found Jaco to be very responsive on both occations, they came quickly and were always on time. I give them strong As on Responsiveness and Punctuality. My concern: I believe that the second visit should be covered under the warranty that they advertise on their web site.http://www.jacowaterproofing.com/home/basement_waterproofing.htmlThe initial work didn't completely solve the problem, and I'm lucky to have seen that before I closed it in. I think they did good work, but I don't think they stood behind what they had performed two years ago, and I am disappointed that I needed to pay them again to complete the job. I'd probably still recommend them, but in the future I'd be very clear up front on what was covered by the work and what their guarantees really are.
Description of Work: Two years ago, we started to have regular leaks in our basement at a foundation corner near our chimney, the water was leaking at the joint between the concrete and brick which was slightly below grade on the outside of the house. Jaco installed a french drain on the exterior of the foundation, and for two years and the wettest year in Cincinnati history, we had no leaks. Cost of that repair was around $1000. Fast forward two years, the basement is being finished and drywall was 3 days away, and a slight rain outside begins to leak through the crack. Jaco responded quickly and within a day had a technician back to inject a sealant into the joint cracks. Cost of that repair was $300.

We received quotes from 5 companies. One company that came but declined to quote actually recommend Jaco due to their guaranteed work. When Jaco's quote was tied for the best price, we selected them. They set up a date within a reasonable time frame and completed the work on time, with minimal mess. At the first heavy rainfall we experienced a small leak connected to one of the cracks they filled so we call them and they came right out the next week to fix it at no charge and no hassle.
