Fabricworks opened for business in 1992. What sets us apart from other fabric store chains: we are an actual fabric warehouse with hundreds of bolts on the floor available for immediate purchase - all priced below other fabric stores. Our most notable difference is the drapery and upholstery knowledge of our staff and most importantly, our respect and personal attention given to each customer. Since we are independently owned and one-of-kind, we are able to give individualized, customer service for any size job.

The recliner went very well. The work was done to perfection. The cost was too much. 700 for the chair. I could have bought a new chair for that cost. It took a very long time to get it completed as the man that did the work was very good and had a back load of work. They hired a new person to help and that person did my 2nd project: 2 wingback chairs and two small chairs. Those were not done as well and took a very long time. The cost was over 1400. I still do not have my seat back. The zipper was broken when we picked the chairs up and they had to replace it. That was 2 months ago.
Description of Work: They re-upholstered a recliner and later, 2 wingback chairs and two small chairs.

I am the new owner of fabricworks Deborah Birmingham. On Dec. 7 th.2007 I took ownership.I did work at Fabricworks a few weeks before I took ownership.I was the person who booked the member's job.I 'm supprised to see the member was unhappy with our service. The member had picked out a plaid fabric for the chair and decided she was not happy with her choice and we did exchange it for her. There was a differance in the price of the fabrics we returned the original of $35.91 to the new at $161.91 and the member approved the difference. There was a charge for extra fiber wrap that the chair needed in the back. The member was call and she approved the $20.00 repair . We tell every customer when they book that we never know untill we open a piece if there are any repairs needed .We always will call the customer for them to ok the extra for repairs. The member did approve the repair. On the member's second order the only extra charge was the UPS on shipping her special ordered fabric. On the zipper we did replace it for her at no charge and it was picked up by the member and her husband a week later. We book every job in the order they come in and each customer at the time of booking is told when their project will start.In order to book we need a deposit of 1/2 down. We book out up to 6 weeks or more and we tell each customer this information so they know what happens in the process. After the job is started it takes about 2 weeks to complete.

We were updating some things at our showroom at work, and I needed someone to recover some seats on 2 different sets of barstools. I showed up on a Monday morning at 9:30 at the store, and realized that they opened at 10. I was waiting patiently outside in my car, and Tom from the store saw me, came out to my car, and said "come on in!" Debbie, who is the owner, was there and willing to help right away. I told her what I needed, and we started looking for some fabrics that we could use. It is very rare that I can explain to someone the look that I am going for, and they instantly understand, but Debbie was excellent! It took about 25 minutes to select all of the fabrics (which look so wonderful) and I was out the door by the time they actually opened! I had her do one set of seats first, then I brought the other seats in a few days later. The first set, which was 4, were finished by Thursday. I then dropped the others off, and they were done on Saturday! I just had the feeling when I was dealing with them, that I had known these people for years. I am very pleased not only with their work and talent, but with speediness that everything happened.
Description of Work: Fabricworks recovered 7 bar stool seats, a valance, and custom made 2 round cushions.

The staff is friendly and honest when helping choose the right fabric for the right piece. They exhibited great patience with my inability to make a decision and fear of mixing the wrong colors. The quality of their work is excellent. One of my pieces had a snag, due to the nature of the material and they replaced it without being asked to do so. The variety of fabrics sets them apart from the average fabric store.
Description of Work: Three pieces were reupholstered: one antique platform rocker, one footstool and one hope chest.
