I don't recommend them. He wanted to do their full platinum plated waterproof extravaganza. After that we called other places. They cleaned our gutters and that fixed it up. their pricing was horrible.
Description of Work: There was some minor leaking in our basement that we got an estimate to fix.

I had a problem with water leaking into my basement every time it rained. My daughter would have to come over the next day and mop it up an clean. This was always a mess. We contacted Everdry and they came out, explained all they would do very clearly. In November 2008 Everdry made the repair including an air flow unit to keep the basement fresh(ez-breathe). Since then there has been no water in my basement and it has a clean smell. The only problem i had was in February 2011, a sump pump problem and Everdry came and corrected the issue. I would definitely recommend Everdry to anyone experiencing water problems in their basement.

Overall, the process was excellent. The workmen arrived on time in the mornings and left promptly at quitting time in the afternoon. There really isn't much to tell. They did their work and did an excellent job. They completed their work in about 3 days.
Description of Work: Everdry waterproofed my basement both inside and outside. They dug trenches around the outside of the house and put in drainage tile. They did the same around perimeter of the basement inside. They then covered the tile and plastered over the trench. On the outside, they replaced the dug up dirt which eventually sunk back into the ground. The workmen were always prompt and always cleaned up their work. They completed their work in record time to make my basement entirely waterproof. Since Everdry completed their work, I have had two service calls; Everdry responded promptly and fixed my problem. My basement has been bone dry ever since. I am thrilled with the work and the company's response to my questions and concerns. When they were finished, they cleaned up everything and left the inside and outside looking great.

They explained everything they were going to do and as the job went along they updated me as to where they were in the process. They were on time every day and all the workers were polite and respectful. We have had several big rains since the job was done and my basement is dry as a bone. They did a great job.
Description of Work: They basically put in the sump system and sump pump to keep water out from under my basement floor. They also repaired cracks in my basement walls from the outside and inside.

It worked and we have a dry basement. It was a very extensive project and we were inconvenienced a little bit more than we thought we would be. Everything had to be moved to the middle of the basement and they covered it with a tarp so it wouldn't get dust. It was expensive. They were very polite and very helpful. They actually dug up and moved plants from around the house. They watered them and they put them back where I wanted. We had to call them back a few times but they said that that happens. They didn't hook up the washer properly and when I went to use it, I almost flooded the basement. They were very quick to come and they were very responsive. They were very understanding. They did whatever we wanted them to do when they came back out. There were probably other people that were cheaper, but we don't know if they would have been as good or thorough. They were very punctual. We would recommend them.
Description of Work: We used Ever-Dry Waterproofing to waterproof our basement because anytime it would rain, it would leak in and we would have cracks. They dug inside and out and put in a drain. They dug all the way down to the foundation bottom.

Very proffesional! I have peace of mind that I didn't waste money on patching a symptom but instead fixed the cause. I was recommended by a friend who had work done by Everdry in New York. Very happy!!!!
Description of Work: They came and gave me a estimate on waterproofing my basement. There were three options I could choose from. I chose the multi-step because I had water in three different areas. He educated me on a lot of things I had no clue about (but it made a lot of sense) which was different then all the other estimates. Most companies did not even look around to find all the problems that I did not realize was connected to my problem.

I would have to be desperate to contact them again.
Description of Work: After some very heavy rain, I had water in the basement. I contacted Ever-Dry for assistance. Their representative was eager to look at my property and provide an estimate. The representative did not look to see the cause of the problem but did recommend their high-priced solution to the symptoms. He walked around the basement, pounding on the concrete floor with a hammer, and told me the floor was now unstable and could cave at any time. He used a "mold meter" and told me my home was unhealthy. I have subsequently had a sump pump installed to handle the water under my foundation. The installers had a difficult time getting through the concrete floor because it was so thick ... tells me that it wasn't ready to cave. As to mold, I still have not seen any and have no illnesses. I can not comment on the quality of their work but was completely turned off by the scare tactics used in their sales approach.

I called to schedule an appointment to give me an estimate on what it would cost for Everdry to fix the leak in my basement. The appointment setter said my husband needed to be there. I told them he did not. He doesn't live in Ohio and that the house was my house. He made the appointment. The representative arrived a bit early and I started to lead him to the basement (all the others wanted to see it first) and he said no, we needed to sit down and go over paperwork first. I found that odd as we hadn't determined what needed to be done or what it was going to cost, paperwork was a bit premature. He asked how many people lived in the house, which I answered, but found the question odd and didn't really see what it had to do with a leaky basement. He asked when my husband would be arriving. I said he wouldn't be as he was out of state and that the house was mine alone. He said it was OHIO LAW that my husband had to be there. Since when does Ohio care if a spouse is present for a bid on a job? I can see the need if there is a financial commitment with a lean against a co-owed property, but this was not the case and financing had not even been discussed at that point. I believe this is their company policy, stated such and he confirmed. I found it offensive that this company would not at the very least give a bid to a woman. I told him if they can't deal with me than I won't be doing business with them. He left.
Description of Work: I contacted Everdry to get an estimate to fix my basement leak. I didn't even get that. They came out but wouldn't give me an estimate because my husband wasn't there.

I think that they were a national company. They were excellent. They gave a life time guarantee and even if the house was sold, the warranty would continue.
Description of Work: I have used the services of Ever-Dry Waterproofing in early May 2011. I had some trouble as an area in my basement was leaking. They got the cement on all the basement walls and the outside. They also put in a drainage system so that my basement would not flood.

I had them out twice, once last fall, and all they did was fill in some cracks around the drain. They were back this spring and the man looked at it and cleaned out the drain. It is shallow and doesn't want to drain right and he said that all we should do is get a humidifier for the basement. That doesn't work so when I called back and spoke to the supervisor he said that's all that they would do. I said that I was going to report them to Angie's List and he was nasty and said be sure to give them the contract #.
Description of Work: They dug around the foundations on the outside and also on the inside of the house and down the sides. There's a garage and underneath the garage that's where I'm having trouble with the paint peeling off and it's damp all the time. They put a drain in across the front and that seems to be what needs to be replaced. I think that would help a lot.

Pushy, high pressure, misleading and tricky from beginning to end
Description of Work: I have never been so appalled by such blatant tricky high pressure tactics in my life. This is a large company and may well do competent work but this sales person was down right sleazy in every regard. Their estimate was $17,000 for the repair. I don't have enough time or space to share all of the ridiculous antics this company tried on us. We had a leak in our finished basement and called Everdry because we had heard good things about them from their radio spokesman. The office call center was responsive and professional. The sales visit was at night (8:30 pm) when it was dark out, which we thought odd given that we thought the representative would want to review the outer foundation when he could actually see it. Their guy was late, but did call to inform us. Now it gets interesting: Greg from Everdry arrived when it was DARK. We asked him immediately if wanted to survey the outside foundation because we suspected a visible crack in the foundation might be the culprit. He didn't even want to look at it and asked to look inside the basement. He then began taking pictures of the basement floor, beams, and walls inside the basement, and checking the area with a moisture meter that went bizerk wherever he placed it. He ripped up the carpet in one area not even close to the leak (with our permission) and didn't even attempt to tuck it back into it's place. He asked questions like, "do you ever see spiders or mice?" "Anyone have headaches or allergies?" Do you see this white stuff on the concrete?" These questions all come in to play later in the presentation when he describes the effects of moisture, mold, and pressure, and how the Everdry system solves it all. (Oh, but we do live in the woods (spiders and mice), it's spring (allergies) and the white stuff was already identified by our home inspector when we bought the house). Anyway, after this, we went upstairs where he uncorks a mold meter and holds it in our register. While he begins his 2.5 hour presention, the mold meter became eerily dark purple. I asked him exactly what this measure indicates; his reply, "that's bad, that's bad" but would not elaborate further. He also got out a portable printer and began printing the pictures of our basement that he took (which look like crime scene photos when they print out). By 11:30 at night, I asked him to please skip to the end of this presention and just give us a cost. To my surprise, he refused! "Just let me finish this up," he said. It was as though he were a robot and could not deviate from the canned presentation or he would blow up. I also asked him for references with a name and phone number so that I could ask about others' experience from beginning to end and follow up -- he said he could not provide me with any. What? At the beginning of the presentation he told me they have repaired thousands of basements in our area. Surely someone other than a famous radio personality has had a positive experience they might wish to share with me. After finishing his presentation he offered us $26,000 to fix the basement. I asked him to break that out so that I can understand the costs: labor, materials, equipment, etc. He refused saying the quote is simply based on square footage of my basement. By the end of the evening he had reduced his price from $26K to $23K to $21K if we agreed to be on "standby" (another tactic you can read about on google reviews of this company). He also was insistent that we borrow money from our equity line to pay for his product! We don't borrow money, and we don't make $26,000 decisions on the spot! The bottom line is, Everdry's representative never told us the cause of our basement leak. He only used canned sales material applied to our basement to arrive at his over-the-top solution. And along the way, he used fear tactics. BTW .. It was 11:45 pm when he left. We are so glad we did not hire this company for our particular basement issue.
Description of Work: We did not hire Everdry based on their extremely slimy sales practices and absurd estimates. They may very well have have a quality product, but after interacting with their man on the street, I felt dirty about hiring these people. They quoted us $26,000 (no mistake, that's three zeros) to fix our basement leak, even thought their guy could not articulate the cause of the leak in the first place. In the end, we hired an unbiased structural engineer who suggested another company who solved the problem for $340! Again, their overall product may be reputable, but it might also be more than you need to solve your problem. Also you will have to endure the stereotypical "used carsalesman or timeshare guy" on steroids, rather than a basement expert.

I hated to spend money on my leaky basement, but I was getting more water leak through my ~100 year old block foundation, even in light rains. So once it became evident that the walls were not going to fix themselves, I decided to hire the best company with the best reputation and the best warratny. Noone could touch Everdry, with their tranferable warranty. They showed up on Monday as scheduled on a cold January. I met with the supervisor every morning and he told what their plan was for that day. They encountered a few problems but they were able to stay mostly on track and finish on Friday of that same week. They did a few extras that I was not expecting, and they did not charge me a single penny more than the estimate. We had snow twice that week but the entire crew showed up on time every day-- heck, they even shoveled my driveway & sidewalk when we got about 2" of snow during the day. In short, the job was done professionally with the utmost competence. Sure I could have gotten the job done for less by hiring a lesser known company. But will they be around in 5, 10 or 20 years, in case I sell the house or encounter a leak? I doubt it. But with EverDry's impeccable reputation, I have everry confidence that they will be there in the future if I need them.
Description of Work: The parameter around the exterior was dug up and drainage tile/plastic/pea gravel were put in before refilling the dirt; the concrete floor along the inside of these same walls were jackhammered to the soil level. Drainage tile and sump pump were installed to keep all water out of the basement.

Contacted for an estimate, scheduling was quick & easy, he arrived on time and spent about 2 hours at our home. First, I want to say Albert was a very nice guy. He gave us a lot of information and overall I understand the problems we are having much more than I did prior to our appointment. I have recieved a total of 4 estimates on our basement and Everdry was our first. He described the way they would address our problems which included outside work as well as inside. As far as cost we had 2 bids lower than his and 1 bid considerably higher than his bid. We have not decided what work we are going to have done but we have decided not to use Everdry. They may do great work however I think their sales tactics turned us off. They frightened us about mold and when he left I thought my house might just collapse based on things he said about our foundation. Concerning mold, he actually swabbed a vent upstairs and said the air wasn't healthy in our house. He said that all other companies would tell us the same things but his company had the best way to fix it. I felt as if he would prefer us not get other estimates which I think cost him his credibility. Like I said, very nice guy but heavy on sales. I will be using one of the other companies who encouraged us to get other estimates and make the decision based on what fits our needs specifically.

EVERDRY's rep showed up on time, but within two minutes I felt uncomfortable. Once in the basement, he examined the leaks from the foundation and performed what appeared to be a well rehearsed skit which (apart from the scare tactics) was eminently worthy of SNL. If EVERDRY sends this man to your place, be prepared to be blinded by "science". For some reason, he needed to photograph most of the leaks. Then he pulled out a sort of hand-held moisture meter and showed me how the needle went bananas whenever he placed the device on the foundation. Near the end of the performance he reported some ominous inward movement along a foundation wall that anyone can see is essentially vertical and stable. Moving upstairs, he insisted that I listen to a "45-minute" presentation before he could give me a written estimate. When I declined politely and asked that he (instead) prepare an estimate and send it to me, he left. More than a week later, no estimate had arrived, so I phoned EVERDRY, explained the situation and (again) asked that a cost estimate be mailed to me. None ever arrived and I have since had the basement waterproofed by another contractor. For all I know, EVERDRY does fantastic work for the lowest price imaginable, but after my dismal experience with this company I certainly wouldn't bet on it.

1) They pursued me repeatedly for a second appointment for this ?big discount? then told me the prices had gone UP. 2) They apparently LOST my file from the first appointment (or at least said they did). 3) The salesman told me repeatedly how doing just the inside treatment was not a real solution to the problem, then offered to do it since that was all the money I would commit to at that moment. 4) After making an offer that was disappointingly not that much off and tied to a bunch of conditions, the salesman used that old HIGH PRESSURE sales trick of refusing me anytime to discuss it with my husbandl saying that the offer would not be honored in that case. 5) I told this guy ?Good bye? several times before he actually left I am actually glad it turned out this way because I found out that in Hamilton County, they are apparently tied to a bunch of home FORECLOSURES! In addition, the BBB lists 17 recent issues.

They did a tear up in the basement and I had a finished basement. They ripped up the tanking system inside and out. They put all the downspouts in, put sump pumps in and also put gravel in there. It was amazing, as they had to dig up in my basement and I had water in my basement. They were professional and they worked really hard. They were young guys and they were here for about 3 or 4 days during winter time. It was cold, but they never stopped. It's one of the best things I ever did with them and there has been a big improvement in our house. I wish I had done this 4 years ago. I felt that their price was a little high, but I also realized that it was worth for the work that they did. I had peace of mind, as they did exactly what they said they would do. I had some issues with some shrubbery and so, they dug out and replaced it. I called them and they took care of it. They stood behind what they said and it's like a life time guarantee as well. I would use their services in the future too.

I called Everdry because they are pretty popular. They were punctual and friendly, but considering it was the salesmen that were sent out they didn't really seem to be able to answer questions as well as I'd like. They just kept giving analogies that didn't make sense given the actual problem in my basement (seepage) and I felt like I was being patronized. On top of that, they were by far the most expensive. Plus, rather than giving the best price in the first place, they wasted my time and gave a made-up story about a "new" price reduction and sent another salesman out to my house on a different day. Would not recommend.
