Just understand before you have these guys come out that whatever your problem is, they have ONE solution that they want you to buy. This is by far the biggest sales pitch (i mean, even down to the "but if you act now, we'll knock off 10%"). I have no doubt that their patented system is a high quality waterproofing system and it does it's job, the question is...is that what you really need and should be dropping thousands of dollars for? This is something they don't even consider. It's a 1 stop shop for their one solution. Do your research beforehand. If you think you want their patented solution and that's what you need, then go for it. If you are just looking for some advice on what your water problem is and several options for fixing, go with someone else (plus, all others are definitely much more affordable). One more thing - don't buy the "you have mold" bit just because they stick a swab in your air vent. If you are concerned about mold, get a professional mold service to test your home.
Description of Work: EverDry came out and just gave us an inspection and estimate for waterproofing our basement and crawl space. We had water issues in the crawl space and needed advice on what we needed to do.

Contacted Everydry and they responded quickly. They looked over my basement and outside foundation. As they walked the foundation outside they pointed out everything to me. I wasn't even aware of all the cracks. I contacted other companies, but Everydry is the one I elected to go with. Might seen pricey at first, but it's well worth it. I had to move everything away from the walls but that is all I had to do. The team was very professional and polite. I was very pleased with them. No mess for me to clean up after they left. Would highly recommend them .

We are very impressed with the company and the service. it was a huge undertaking and took a team of men several days to complete, but they completely dug up outside the house and put a tar base around the outside, then jack hammered all along the basement walls in order to insert a drainage system. within a few days we had a massive rain and the system took an unbelievable amount of water away from our house that would have otherwise been putting pressure on our foundation. The basement has been completely dry and mold free since.
Description of Work: Everdry completely waterproofed our basement along with a guarantee that there would be no leaking due to their system (involving a massive sump pump along with an incredibly efficient dehumidifier).

Everydry took a week to do all the work. They showed up on time and every day until the job was complete which we really appreciated. Outside they dug the trenches around obstacles like decks and steps and kept the mess and disruption to a minimum. They were also neat on the work inside which was hard to do with breaking up concrete. All the workers were polite and helpful with any questions. We had one issue with the sump pump after the job was done and Everdry was out the next day to fix the issue. We have had a completely dry basement ever since and have greatly enjoyed the extra space. We are especially pleases with their guarantee. We highly recommend Everdry.
Description of Work: Seal outside coves, caulk windows, seal foundation, filtered subfloor system, trench drains install e-mail breathe and submersible pressure relief system. In English, they dug a trench outside around the basement and put in gravel and new drainage that leads water away from the house. They sealed the foundation to keep water out and filled the trench back in. Inside they broke up the the concrete flooring along the outer walls, drained any water and put drainage materials and redid the concrete. They installed a air filtration system, a sump pump and backup sump pump.

The crew arrived on time and worked quickly and efficiently. They had their noses to the grindstone and knew what they were doing. The foreman kept me involved and updated on what was being done and what to expect. The only negative was the salesman had said "No sump pump" when giving the sales pitch. They called it some other type of a system, but low and behold it was a sump pump. After they explained it more fully and admited that it was just a problem with semantics it was alright. The system has been working well with no problems and the yard is back to normal. They did have to do some extra excavation to remove a few large tree roots but that was included in the pricing. The manager came to check on them the second day and it seemed like they were under too much pressure to finish the job rather that to be completely committed to doing the job the best way. Their attitudes were less postive after his visit.

The salesman from Everdry was friendly but very high-pressure. I am a single mother and live in a nice home in a well to do neighborhood so I am not sure if that was the reason for the ridiculous bid he gave me or if they do that to everyone. My residence is 40 years old and it has a poured foundation. First the Everdry salesman quoted me about $22,000 to install an interior drain in my basement and to put another drainage system outside the foundation of my house. This was not to dig down to the foundation outside, but to hand dig down a few feet. He said if i signed up today he would take it down to $17,500, but I would have to be on a standby list. I knew how many linear feet I had in my basement (172) and I had already researched what I needed done and how much it should cost a foot. When I told him what I thought the job should cost and that I did not need anything done on the outside he told me I was wrong. He also walked around with this moisture detector and told me how wet my basement walls were and how much mold I was going to get. I just sort of bit my tongue during this whole charade. He was friendly enough and it was an educational experience for me. The unfortunate thing is that I think they probably could have done the job well and could have gotten my business if their sales tactics were not so goofy and their estimates triple what they should be. I ultimately had the job done for $7,000 by Sohan and they did an excellent job. Everdry had their salesmen call me several times after they came to give me the initial estimate and since I had not yet retained Sohan I told them if they wanted to lower their bid I would listen, but they refused to talk to me about price unless I let them come back to my house, which I declined to do.

I bought my house 15 years ago. The previous owners used Everdry to seal the basement and the warranty transferred to me when I purchased the house. I've had only 2 issues in the past 15 years and when I called for help they were very friendly and fixed the problems with no hassles and no questions. The low yearly maintenance warranty fee is well worth the piece of mind.

My impression is that this company might do a good waterproofing job, but I did not choose to get involved with them. I felt like I was being manipulated, and that is a total red flag. My house is a 60s ranch, about 1100 sq. ft. Everdry estimated 150 lineal feet. Had a 1 1/2 hour initial appointment during which moisture meter testing of my basement warned of alarming problems. Test of dust from air vent revealed mold, which is probably present everywhere in the environment. Quotes were given for 3 types of remediation, the most expensive being $26,000. Final price quoted was $20,622, but if I could help them fill a possible scheduling gap on a 24-hour notice, the price would drop to $17,412. This price to be good for 3 days only. This sounded very odd. A month later I got a call requesting another appointment to discuss a lower price. This couldn't be done over the phone. I am suspicious of a company that seemingly plays games with customers.

They were to provide an estimate of repairs and never performed the estimate nor did they call to say that they would not be performing the estimate. When I called them to find out why they didn't arrive at the scheduled time today the rep said that the appointment was not confirmed and the he personally called me to confirm the appointment on Saturday 08/03/13. I advised that I did not receive this call. I checked my phone log while he was on the phone with me and again advised him that I didn't receive his call. His response was that he also left a voice message to which I again replied I didn't receive a call or voice message from him. His response was that I could confirm an appointment for 08/06/13 to which I said no thank you and that I was call another company to which he responded "perfect". How very rude of him. I will never have any positive feedback for this company at all.

Response from Everdry Waterproofing of Cincinnati
I have personally written a formal letter of apology to(Member name removed) for the situation he experienced with our company. I also explained that it is our policy to call and confirm appointments to remind homeowners we will be there for the free inspection. Appointments are sometimes scheduled up to a week out and homeowners may forget the day or time. When we took (Member name removed)information from his cal to Everdry, the phone number was written incorrectly on the lead card by our employee. If we cannot contact the homeowners, we will not send out one of our inspectors until we are able to confirm that someone will be there. We didn't realize that we had the wrong number until I personally tried to call (Member name removed) on Wednesday, August 7th, 2013, and spoke with a person that explained that no one by that name lived there. At that time I immediately wrote and mailed the letter of apology to(Member name removed). Sincerely, Charles M. Begley General Manager Everdry Waterproofing of Cincinnati

They did the job in two days, that was good. They made a mess, but I can't say that was totally unexpected. Just that it emded up being a lot more mess than we thought it would be. If it stays dry, I am happy.
Description of Work: Crew was here two full days. Dug a trench outside and inside around the living space. Put in drainage pipes, sump pump w/ battery back up as well as discharge line from sump pump to the rear of my property. If I have any complaints they would be that even after they cleaned up, we had to mop the floor many times to get up all the dirt. They had to tear out half of the shower in the downstairs bathroom to do proper waterproofing so I will have to tear the rest of the out and put in something new. The floor tile was taken out along the edges of the room in order to install the inside drainage system so I will have to remove the rest of the old tile and redo the floor. They connected the sump pump by using n extention cord. I thought that for the money, this should have been hard wired. Bottom line for me is if the job they did keeps my house dry, I will be pleased. it has rained twice since they finished and so far, so good. I can finish up everything else as time goes by.

Everdry came in when they said would and completed the perimeter drain in the amount of time they said it would take to complete the job.The outside foundation drain was completed in a way to minimise ground and plant damage. The work crew cleaned up good after the work was completed. The company is rather high on there pricing but they do have a good reputation and I know of two other people they did work for and they are happy with Everdry's work also.

We had Everdry come out to quote us repairs on a crack we had in our basement wall. After first sitting us down to ask some questions, the salesman went into our basement and began taking all kinds of measurements and pictures. BY the time he was finished (nearly an hour), we went upstairs to review the 3 options of what we could do to "fix" our problem. The first one he quoted was 29,000! This was to dig up everything with a backhoe and install a system. The next one (their patented system) would be only $22K. And last, but not least they could do another floor system for the bargain price of only 12K! Mind you we wanted 1 crack in a wall fixed...we do not have any foundation issues (certified per a structural engineer prior to this visit from Everdry). These systems are overly elaborate and unnecessary for what the problem was. He continued to push us with trying to scare us about health issues (mold test) and other issues that could occur). After his pitch, which was FAR TOO LONG, we told him that we would seek other estimates as we would not make that sort of commitment right then. He asked me who I was going to call, to which I responded that is my business. He then told me they would be within $500 of any other company. I found this odd, since he had just offered me a system that he said was something only they did, so not sure how another company could quote it. At this point, as he was packing up, he told us that if we signed right then, he could knock the price down to only 18K for the second, patented system he had quoted (originally 22K, 20 minutes earlier). This is when I knew that this was a SCAM and was not necessary. Everydry should be absolutely ashamed of themselves for promoting these kinds of tactics. There are folks that have fallen for this and wasted thousands of dollars. We have another company that is addressing the real issue and not selling us unnecessary systems for a FRACTION of the price. Awful...just Awful. Not only will I not recommend this company to anyone, I will spread the word to everyone I know that this is a terrible company! To note - we have had another company come out and fix the issue (no leakage at all) and we are very satisfied with the work. I have told everyone I know NOT TO USE EVERDRY.

The salesmen was great. We signed a contract and were willing to be put on their "on-call" list. We would be ready for the work to be performed at a moments notice. This gave us a 10% discount. The crew came and put the system in about 3 days. Their mop broke during the clean up the last day, so they left mud all over the basement floor. They also didn't cover my hardwood floors on the first floor adequately, so I was left with mud all over those also. It rained the whole 3 days they were there installing. I called and complained and they were willing to return that next Monday to clean up. It was Friday and I wasn't waiting all weekend. They didn't cover up my carpeted basement steps at all. So they did return the next week to scrub and clean the carpet. Several weeks went by, and we continued to smell sewage throughout the house. I made a few phone calls and was reassured that this was because the house was so old, and if there had ever been a break in the pipes and water had leaked under the house, it was now being gathered by the new sump pump and would dissipate over time. We also noticed that our backyard was a swamp! The discharge pipe was placed in the yard. They came back out and dug a well to help hold some of the water. It continued to be extremely wet all summer. We ended up with another overflow well and they pulled my downspouts out of the ground and redirected. Their impression was that the ground just couldn't take all the water. We continued to smell sewage. It's now August and we have had HVAC and plumbers out to inspect for the smell. Everything was fine. Someone suggested to us that Everdry may have busted the clay pipes under the floor when installing the system and we should dye the bathtub water and see if it emptied into the sump pump. So we did this. As soon as we released the bathtub, we could hear the water pouring into the sump pump crock. And it was the bright red color we had just dyed. All the sewage from the house, including the tub, toilet, dishwasher, sinks and washing machine had been emptying into the sump pump for 6 months. Which also explained why the 2 wells in the yard weren't working and our backyard was a swamp. We called Everdry and after way too many angry phone calls, BBB complaints and angry calls from my father, they agreed to come out and replace pipes. They had to dig up around 2 vertical stacks on each side of the house and around the main that goes out of the house to the street. They weren't convinced that it was actually their fault. Two different plumbers were at the house and agreed that the jack hammering to the floor was likely the culprit. You could actually see on one pipe a very clean cut, not the typical crumbling of clay pipes. We had several managers out to inspect the work. We then began negotiating a compensation package. So the initial work was completed in March 2012 and it was September 2012 before my basement was dry and clean. We finally came to agreement on the compensation money and they mailed me a check. And then the check bounced. Yes, the refund didn't clear, and it was the day before Christmas. So the day after Christmas, I had to drive to their office, 25 minutes away, and get the refund check, plus a check to then cover the returned check fees and overdraft fees from my bank. The entire experience was awful. At least when it rained, I knew where the water would be and just didn't leave things on the floor.

Overall- I am just glad we didn't go with Everydry.
Description of Work: No services performed...they came out- shot us a quote of $15K to take care of our two leaks in our basement walls. Two separate salespeople- one was a "manager" who offered to cut the quote by $3K only if I made up my mind in the next day. In the end we got a crack repair from another company and a drain put in for 1/10th of the cost. Problem solved- we are as dry as a bone at a fraction of the cost. You may need their big "system", they said we "needed it" or our home would cave in...our walls are in good shape, two cracks from service lines coming in.

They did a good job. They stick by their warranty. I have a sump pump and I have had to have it replaced, like 2 times. They come out the same day. There are no excuses. I had a company years ago, that would help with water around the basement and they dug around the foundation in the yard to prevent the water, but they did not do a good job at all. Everdry’s expense was normal; I didn’t feel like they gauged me. I have been very pleased.

They were very thorough in explaining what they were going to do, and why they needed to do it. They were quick in getting to our job even though they were very booked. Any problems or questions we've had since the work was done, they haven't hesitated in answering, and will come out and check the problem. I also recommended them to a friend, who had many other bids for her basement. She also chose Everdry and has been as pleased with them as I am. They don't hesitate to do what is needed if something isn't working well after the job, they come out and take care of it right away. I don't think you can go wrong with Everdry.

Time between order and completion of the installation of the unit took from April 3 to June 6th. The salesman was not knowledgeable enough to realize the location planned for installation of the unit would not work. So on the day of installation we had to decide whether to cancel the installation or find an alternative location. An alternative location was found, but the location was not as desirable as the initial location. The original installation was unsatisfactory. The exhaust vent would not open and close properly and caused problems with the system. A different workman returned and attempted to replace the outside vent and discovered the original work had not been done properly. After repairing the install and putting a new outside vent on, it became apparent that the standard outside vent was not going to work in this location because the wind blew back through this vent. We live near a lake so a fish smell was coming back into the house. It was agreed that a hooded vent with a flapper valve should solve the problem and it was agreed that one would be installed as soon as one could be found. Eventually a hooded unit was located and despite some difficulty, Norm, the repairman was able to get it installed. The unit itself is of a lesser quality than we expected for the price. It is made of light weight plastic. After the initial installation we discovered it made a vibration noise that we could hear in the bedroom above. We have made some adjustments, including some cushioning under the feet and the noise was reduced. On the positive side, it was immediately apparent that it did a fair job of improving the air quality in the basement area. Because of the distance from where it is located and the access to upstairs, it has had minimal affect on lowering the humidity, but the air is significantly fresher in that room.
