They are nice people and very polite. They did the project. They come quickly and leave rather quick. They are more of a demolition crew to get rid of the damage. They also put some of my furniture in storage.
Description of Work: The insurance company sent them out for us.

They were very responsive and they worked with me very well to get the house back to way it was before the fire so that and we could get back in and feel like we were still in our home. They had some subcontractors that had some issues I cannot blame them for that but I am not going to give them a perfect score because they are subs. There weren't always here when they said they would be here but but I kind of expect that with contractors. They at least tried. I have already recommended them to several other people who had flooding and what not.
Description of Work: They did restoration service that rebuilt the house after the fire.

After a recommendation, and careful research of other companies online (BBB, Court Filings and Business Filings through the State of Ohio) we chose ADS to rebuild our home. The foreman assigned to us was Zip Liberatore. He had many years experience in the construction business and we liked him very much. He is very knowledgeable and personable. We had a house fire that pretty much demolished the inside of our entire century home. There was only 1 wall and 1 ceiling standing in the whole house. We relied heavily on Zip to guide us through the process. He always took my phone calls, or responded promptly to messages, and overall we were very pleased with him. Bill B, Edna and Aaron packed up all our things for storage. They were very careful with all our possessions. In fact, I had accidentally left a gemstone ring on the sink in the evening. I called Bill B in the morning and he had noticed it and was holding it for me. What a relief! Also, the crew listed everything that they packed, and everything that was destroyed, which helped so much with the insurance paperwork. The crew that scrubbed and cleaned our house of smoke and soot were very hard-workers, and very professional. They were meticulous and did a great job. Sorry, I don't remember their names. Also, everyone involved looked after our outside dog for us too. We have 4 dogs and had them split between family members, but our outside dog lives in the garage. The painting crew that ADS hired were my favorite of all the crews we dealt with. Roberto, Jacob, Sam, John Roberts (drywall) and the man who painted our doors (can't remember his name) were meticulous, professional, polite and did an AWESOME job! Their attention to detail was amazing. The supervisor, Gordy, and his crew including Mitch and Aaron were very easy to deal with. Always polite and personable and kept me informed of everything. I was in charge of the construction (of which I knew nothing) and everyone took the time to answer my questions and address my concerns. Timmy, the plumber, was very kind. He did a great job and got me into that claw foot tub very quickly! He even came back later to address a leak and a dip in water pressure in the bathroom sink. Paul DeMarco, the initial electrician, was very quick and did a great job, asking me where I would want the outlets, if I was installing fans, etc. We went through a couple more electricians, whose names I cannot recall. The company hired to re-do the floors (I only remember Cedric) did a great job, after somewhat of a difficult start. It all worked out. Mike Zuber, who was in charge of the internal projects, such as carpeting, blinds, baseboard heaters, etc, did a great job! We did hit a few snags, however. The process took almost 10 months, when we were originally quoted 3 months. We were patient, however, because the scope of the job increased during the demo. (There were a few months delay in completion due to the paperwork) There were instances of several weeks at a time where nothing was done. We were patient because we understood that ADS had responded to a school fire, apartment building fire, etc. The crews were stretched a little thin, I think. The drywall crew (sub-contractors) were lousy. There was a 3-week period that nothing happened with the drywall. After family and friends helped us to paint our entire house over Father's Day Weekend, Zip came in on Monday morning and starting circling the many divots and dents, missing areas, and overall uneven texture of the drywall. Remember, the entire house had to be re-walled. The result was that the finishing work on ALL the drywall, walls and ceilings, had to all be re-done and then re-painted. I am very glad that Zip stepped up and insisted it be done correctly, instead of letting it go. Roberto's crew ended up re-doing all the drywall finishing, and it was as perfect as could be expected. Kudos to John Roberts. An exhaust fan was installed in our bathroom, but never vented to the outside. My husband noticed it AFTER the ceiling had been installed. Had this not been seen, the moisture would have been vented into the ceiling! The finishing carpenter, Dave, was only able to work 5 hours a day. There were quite a few days he did not show because he was working elsewhere. Overall, his work was average. Later we found quite a few areas where trim was incorrect, loose, not plumb or square or missing. Our house is almost 100 years old, with oak woodwork throughout, and all the trim was numbered when it was removed. Dave didn't put it back in the correct place on quite a few instances. He was very pleasant, but again, only available for 5 or so hours a day. He (Dave) had opened a wall to install double doors in our Dining Room and not only left it open (my hubby had to install tarps over the gaping hole) but later failed to install the weather strips so that the rain came pouring into our house. I am very organized and submitted to ADS all the replacement items we wanted, where to find them and the cost. However the items were not always ordered in a timely manner. The dining room doors were a big one. The bathroom tile I had chosen was discontinued by the time ADS ordered it (which also resulted in a higher cost). The kitchen tile (we had left a sample for them) was never ordered, resulting in us running out to buy it the night before it was to be installed. Needless to say it was as close as possible, but still noticeably different than the original. I had to run to Lowe's to select a new sink and faucet for the kitchen the day it was supposed to be installed. However, in their defense, ADS did secure the rest of the items in a timely manner, including my claw-foot tub and sink/pedestal, medicine cabinet, bathroom furniture, etc. The biggest disappointment, however, revolved around the money. When we initially sat down with Zip and Bill Mangelluzzi (owner) we had discussed doing some extra projects because the house was gutted. I made it a point to save as much money as possible in order to fund these projects. I re-used door knobs, came under budget on tile and bathroom fixtures and closet systems, re-used doors, etc. However, when I asked (several times, both verbally and in writing) for estimates for the cost on these projects I never received them. After the scope of repairs increased, following an inspection by State Farm's adjustor, ADS never provided a new estimate for us. So, though I kept asking, I never received an updated contract or cost on the extra projects. So I wasn't surprised when the bill came in much higher than we had discussed throughout the entire project. Very disappointing and probably the most stressful part of the whole thing. Finally, after a heated in-office meeting with Zip and Bill we settled it. In fact, I spoke with Zip the other day, and he assured me that if we needed them to fix anything, they would do it for us. I would recommend ADS to folks who were in our situation. There were some bumps along the way, but I can't see how those things can be avoided in such a large construction project. I would recommend that the homeowner keep a tight reign on the money aspect (do NOT let ADS handle the payments with the bank) and be involved in the day-to-day construction to monitor the crews and workmanship. Also, make sure the paperwork is in order. And be sure to see the sub-contractors' estimates. Because of my ignorance I never saw any of them, and feel that I could probably have reduced costs if I had. On the whole, except for the drywall guys (again, a LOUSY job) the crews and sub-contractors were polite, professional and knowledgeable. Having never dealt with anything like this before, I was very thankful for Zip's guidance and experience. I love my home and feel that everyone at ADS treated it like it was their own.

I had a pathetic experience with them. They left the work mid-way and left. They didn?t do any work and the bill was mainly for the machinery they bought. They tried to make up and gave me a little discount. They didn?t come on the first day and the next day they were not on time. I will never use their services in future.
Description of Work: I used the services of All Disaster Services to repair my basement damaged due to snow and rains, sometime in January or February, 2011.
