Andy did a great job while he was here. I changed my mind a couple of times on how I would like to vent the new fan. Andy was great about it. He did exactly what I asked him to do even though he had to rework a few of the items he had already completed. He had a great attitude about the rework - he said it was no problem at all. It was a good experience. He did a great job installing the new cable line in the bedroom. Everything looks great. I would use this company again.
Description of Work: They installed a new exhaust fan in a bathroom, replaced an existing exhaust fan in another bathroom, and put a cable outlet in a bedroom.

This was a very difficult job as the wiring had to be run from the attic to two upstairs bedrooms. Two electricians worked an entire day to install the lights and repair the two outlets. It was expensive, but the men worked hard all day and the results were excellent.

Great from getting the estimate to having a working generator. Whole thing took a couple weeks, but most of that was waiting for generator to arrive.
Description of Work: Waibel Electric installed a whole house emergency backup generator. I did not have to do a thing! They pulled the permits and got the city out to inspect. I researched the cost of generators and thought this price was very fair for installation of a 20kw generator. We have used Waibel Electric for various jobs since we bought our house in 1989, I would never use another electrician. Now we have peace of mind and don't have to worry if the weather is hot or cold, our air conditioner, furnace and everything else in the house will work!

Waibel was great on all fronts. I had no problems reaching someone by phone for a verbal estimate and then to set up an appointment for an official estimate once I had the job planned. Scheduling both the estimate with Mark and the actual work date was easy, they had room on their schedule and estimate to work was just a week's time (and could have been sooner but I wasn't free). When Mark was at my house for the estimate he was the one who pointed out that there should be 3 prong plugs in most places, I wouldn't have thought of that and am very glad he suggested it. I felt he was really making sure the job was done the right way, not upselling to add more services and costs. Gary and Don came out to do the job and were on time, professional and pleasant to have around. They obviously knew their stuff and communicated well about what each piece of the job needed. They listened carefully to info about the kitchen remodel and how their work needed to be left to fit in with a few cabinet changes. Gary made sure to ask me what I wanted done with the old switches, etc and he saved everything for me to donate to the Habitat Restore. They made adjustments after they put in each new outlet so it fit just right "like I'd want it in my house" said Gary, which is just what you want to hear from your contractors.
Description of Work: They added a circuit and wiring for a dishwasher and over the stove hood/microwave that will be installed during a kitchen upgrade in a couple of weeks. They also updated 4 outlets in the kitchen, including 3 prong grounded plugs all around, 3 gfis and replaced a switch that was connected to nothing after an original owner remodel with another outlet.

I called the office to set up an appointment for an estimate. The secretary advised us that they would call us back later that day(Monday) to set up an appointment. I received a call back on Tuesday and we set up the appointment for Friday. He was about five minutes late but I think that was mostly because our house is hard to find. He came in and started talking about what needed to be done for the kitchen. He explained we would probably need to rewire the entire kitchen, add circuits, and put in a new circuit breaker box. When we went downstairs to look at the circuit breaker, his phone rang and he began talking to his employee, they were talking about not bringing the right material to the job site and what they needed to get. He talked to them for about five minutes. We went back up to the kitchen, I was talking to him about what I wanted to do with the light switches and also about moving some outlets if we were re-wiring the whole kitchen. Then his phone rang again and he began talking to someone in his family. The phone call did not seem like an emergency and sounded as if it was a conversation about what they were doing that day and for the weekend. The estimate took about 35 minutes however 1/3 of that time was spent on the phone talking to someone else. He stated he would send me an estimate. Estimate was sent in a timely manner as promised. Estimate seemed a little high for the job. Overall impression was that it was unprofessional and that it did not matter whether he got the job or not.

They added a switch on an outside box for heat tape that I had running across the front of the house. The heat tape goes along the edge of the roof on the gutter in case there is ice build-up. It prevents water leaking into your windows. The heat tape is growing in popularity. It certainly saves a headache. The heat tape was plugged into a light socket on the front of the switch. They installed a GFI for the heat tape, and fixed the light socket. They did a good job. I?ve had them out before for other projects. They?re nice and they do a good work.

Called for an estimate on installing two ceiling fans which required running wiring to the ceiling where none existed. Mark arrived on time and gathered the information needed for the estimate. He left stating he would email us the estimate. Unfortunately, the power outages occurred and delayed the process. Once power was restored several days later the estimate was received and agreed upon and the signed acceptance was faxed back to him.He then called and scheduled a service date. The two workman, Pat and Thomas, arrived 15 minutes early and went about their work in a very professional manner. Due to the high temperatures working in the attic was not very pleasant but they never complained. They were polite and we felt comfortable having them in our home. They completed their job in a very timely manner and cleaned and vacuumed their work areas. The next day we discovered that the bottom portion of one of the wall outlets was not working. I called the office and Mark came out and replaced the outlet the next day.
Description of Work: Install two ceiling fans in rooms with no previous ceiling outlets. Included running the wires for each unit through attic and properly installing the fans and required switches.

.Mark Waibel came out and spend over an hour going through the home making sure he understood the work I wanted done and made suggestions on bringing the home up to code. His estimate was not the cheapest nor the most expensive but was very detailed, listing each room and the work to be done in that particular room. His crew arrived as scheduled and they were very professional. My dog even liked them. Each day the cleaned and vacuumed before leaving the job site. They installed 26 circuits, 28 recepticals, 9 light fixtures and bath fan. They also installed 9 interconnected smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Even the Reynoldsburg building inspector seemed impressed with their work as it passed inspection with no corrections needed. When the job was completed they went over the home to make sure they had completely cleaned up which made my wife very happy. The crew, Andy and Tom,,we a pleasure to have in our home. I would highly recommend Waibel Electric and will differently use them for my next electrical job.
Description of Work: My home was built in 1927 and still had the original 2 wire, cloth insulated wiring in BX cable. It's a 2 1/2 story, 3 bedroom 2 bath home and only had six total circuits for the whole house. Waibel came in and installed at 300 amp panel and emergency generator panel then completely rewired the house and garage.

Mark returned my call promptly and gave me an estimate over the phone based on my description of work needed. I called back the following Monday and was able to get appointment to get work done on Wednesday. Technician was on time and very careful to not track dirt into house. It was extremely hot that day and working in the attic was difficult but Gary kept right with it and when it got too hot in the attic to work he came down to cool off and worked putting the fans together - no time was wasted at all. He did a great job and I will call Waibel in future for any electrical work that I need done. The final price was under the estimate and I felt it was a fair price for the work performed.

When I was first looking at buying the house my housing inspector suggested I get a upgrade to the eletrical service, as the current one was overloaded.. The people contacted Waibel Electric to get an estimate.. I ended up buying the house and after talking to a few friends and family, decided to go with Waibel Electric, as they have a good rep... The service was good and communication was great... The work was done within two days, the inspector came out too early the second day.. So he came out the next day, while I was home getting the house ready to move into.
Description of Work: They upgraded my electrical box from 100 amp to 200 amp, replaced several outlets with GFI and ran line to a new drop box.. Plus other various things.

Good experience overall. Have used Waibel several times in past for similar smaller projects. Called Waibel and was able to get appointment within a day or two. Technician arrived early, was polite and courteous. Job took a little longer then expected and I helped the guy fish the line from the basement to the kitchen. It was an unusually tricky path to drill because of our basement floor joists. In the end, it all came out fine. The hole drilled on the basement end was a bit big and could've been a little neater, but nothing I can't live with. I gave a B for price, feeling it was a little pricey compared to past service calls. Will call again.

I didn't know how much to expect the above services would cost, so when I called originally, I asked if they could give me a rough estimate over the phone. It took a bit of phone tag to catch up to Mark. His conservative "worst case" scenario was in the $800 range. We decided to go ahead with the work. On the scheduled day, they were supposed to start around 9am, but didn't arrive until after 10:30. (We did receive a phone call around 9:20 letting us know the start time had been delayed about an hour) which was much appreciated; however, I had thought we were first on their list that day, didn't expect a delay, and was a bit disappointed I could have, but then was unable to get some other things taken care of that morning... Not that big of a deal -- just a minor bother. The technician was courteous and personable. We showed him what we wanted and he got right to work. I think they thought we wanted ceiling fans installed -- we just wanted the rough-ins. So that went quicker time-wise and reduced the cost. Other things that I think helped the overall time spent on the job: Prior to the technician's arrival, we had cleared out the closet access to the attic crawl space. We also cleared out the areas he needed to work in the bathroom, the bedrooms, and the garage. The technician was prompt and efficient. He confirmed with me the exact location of the ceiling fans, the number of switches to add for the ceiling fans, and the exact location of the new outlet in the bathroom. That extra attention to detail and ensuring customer satisfaction is much appreciated! He also did a very nice job cleaning up once done. Oh -- and that garage outlet that we needed checked? My spouse had switched out the plug for it a couple weeks ago, but still was unable to get it to work again. When the technician checked it, he said it was now working! (We now think switching out the plug did the trick, but somewhere along the way the gfi that controlled it must have gotten triggered, so we didn't realize we had fixed the problem). We definitely appreciated that honesty as opposed to charging us for a bunch of unnecessary repairs on that. So -- overall, we were pleased with the results and very pleased with the final cost!

Our neighbor hired a contractor to install a fence and the contractor cut the power line to our house when digging the post holes. The contractor disappeared (that is a whole different story) and AEP said that because our line is buried underground, that our line is a private line that is our responsibility. So we were left with the task of having find a contractor that would take on such a job. The fence contractor finished the fence and was long gone, so not only did the electrical repairs have to be made, but the fence had to be removed and replaced. We had several electrical contractors come out. Most didn't even want to estimate on the job- like they weren't sure they could even handle it. Other's came in way high. I called Waibel and they gave me a quote for $1,600 which seemed reasonable. They came in and made the repair in record time doing minimal damage to the neighbor's yard and fence. They got done so quick that they even lowered the price down to $1,124. They also took the time to come get me when they had the broken wire exposed so I could take pictures. Finally, they saved the broken wire for me to keep as evidence. I would totally go with this company again. They were honest, fair and professional.

It would be my suggestion that Waibel supply their employees with slip-on boot protectors to prevent this from happening again in the future. And to also have the man who is taking the calls and arranging the appointment to treat ALL their customers with respect even if we're asking things the wrong way, not having the technical know-how and jargon that an electrician does.
Description of Work: I contacted Waibel after a power outage since the uninterruptible power supply (UPS) for my computer was showing a Building Wiring Fault. Also, my television could no longer be plugged into the UPS upstairs without blowing the circuit. I gave Waibel a glowing report after the installation of my generator. However, I think that was due to who I dealt with. Karl was nothing but courteous, customer-oriented and conscientious. For this call, a man was sent out the next day after I called. He installed ground wires in both outlets. I have had a problem with one of those outlets since the work, but after plugging the television in another outlet for a few days the outlet seemed to return to working okay. However, because of the substance tracked in on the worker's boots, I am still working on getting the spots out of my carpet. It appears I will need to get the carpet cleaners back out again to re-clean the areas where the stains are (living room and stairwell to the basement). Hopefully, they have a cleaning agent that will work better than the materials I've been trying. Thinking back on it, I should have asked him to remove his shoes, but usually companies will have thought ahead to provide their employees with slip-on boot protectors so homeowners don't have to ask a worker to do something that might possibly offend them. Now, I am faced with dealing with an additional expense of cleaning, if the stains can even be removed.

We are very pleased with the work performed. We have NO complaints or negatives. They quoted the job in detail as it should be done, completed the work as they promised and charged exactly what they quoted us. We are so happy to live in a safe and conveniently wired home again. We had 2 other electrical companies quote on this job, but neither were as detailed, straight-forward, or as helpful as Mark from Waibel. We are happy that we chose to go with Waibel Electric.
Description of Work: Completely re-wired old (1832) 2 story home that had much electrical wiring left over from the 1930's and added lights, ceiling fans, many new outlets, whole house surge suppressor and new 200 amp service electrical panel. Also re-wired garage and chicken house including security lights on both. This is was a tough job since outer walls were constructed on 14" thick brick that had to be drilled through or wiremold boxes used in some instances. They also had to crawl under the house in the crawlspace to snake the new wire up from the basement and through the walls. Most of the time, there were two men working together. They were both very professional, courteous, and accomodating. They asked us before they worked on each room to confirm exactly what we expected to be done. They advised us on how best to accomplish our goals and listened to our input also------in the end, the job they did was excellent. Andy's (the main electrician on the job) father, Mark came out and gave us the estimate and started the project by developing the overall plan of action. We were very impressed with Mark. He was extremely knowledgeable and we felt very comfortable that he was honest and direct. It was because of Mark's straight forward and impressive approach that we chose Waibel Electric to do this major project. The son, Andy led the project on site and he and his associates did an excellent job. We were also impressed that they quoted the price and it did not change.

We are very pleased with all the work involved with this project. Mark Waibel came out promptly upon our request to survery to prospective job and followed up in a timely fashion with an estimate which we accepted. Andy Waibel was the electrician on our two day job. We found Andy very easy to work with; he was skilled and professional. We called to set up the appointment about 10 days in advance and confirmed the day before. They estimated an arrival time at 8 - 8:30 A.M., and the electrician arrived just a few minutes later than that, which I still consider excellent for a service like this.
