TLDR: Avoid at ALL costs. We engaged with RamJack to get a quote for the foundation repair at a rental property of ours. We received a quote, and roughly a month later (on 7/25) after having closed on the property, we executed the quote through their online portal. A day or two later, I received a voicemail from Kim at their office asking how I wanted to pay the deposit (just shy of $6,500). After a few rounds of phone tag, we were able to pay the deposit via card with a 1.5% fee for the card transaction. At that time, Kim relayed that they would be in touch "soon" regarding scheduling the work. After a few weeks, I reached back out to their office and was told that the work would begin in "late September or early October" as they had a few larger jobs in the queue that needed to be completed before they could start ours. On October 27 - after unsuccessfully reaching out through their website - I tracked down a personal email address via their dormant company Facebook page and contacted the owner of the company by email. I referenced our contract number and the cancellation clause in the quote turned agreement and requested to cancel our contract and an update on the timeline for returning our deposit. Later that day, the owner responded claiming that he was not aware of our project and requested the address. I shared the contract, the address, and the dates that the contract was signed and when I spoke with his office staff. On 10/28 he called me while I was in the middle of a work meeting, so my husband took the call. The owner (Skip) proceeded to give my husband a song and dance about our contract not matching the name in their system and a disorganized office staff and that was why our project had not been included on their schedule. He concluded by saying he would go to the house "today" and be ready to start the project "on Monday". In fact, he did go to the house on 10/28 because we received a message from our tenant asking why he was there. On the call, my husband reiterated that we were canceling the contract and wanted our funds back. Skip confirmed that he would get us the money "ASAP" and requested we text him our address so he could "drop off the check tomorrow". On 11/1, my husband followed up to receive a timeline for the refund with no response. On 11/2, I followed up and indicated that if we did not receive the funds in a timely manner we would be forced to go through a Legal route. Skip immediately responded in an inappropriate manner and clearly took an aggressive defensive position. Throughout the remainder of the day he sent condescending text messages including stating that his holding our deposit and not refunding it was "your problems are not my problems." We finally received a check in our mailbox - hand delivered - on 11/9. Upon depositing the check at our bank on 11/14 (delayed due to the Veteran's Day holiday bank closure) we assumed that the issue was closed. As of today, 11/16, the check has bounced. Not only do we not have our deposit returned (nor the % fee charged to process it by credit card) but now we will also incur fees with our bank for depositing a bad check. Upon notifying Skip that the check bounced his entire response was "there's money in the account." Clearly, we will end up going the Legal route at this point which will only result in us spending even more money to try to get our money back.

I called Ramjack after a poor experience receiving a quote from another overpriced basement foundation company. First of all, the guy who came to give me a quote on the foundation repair was 45 minutes early without any notification he was on his way. Second, at one point, close to the beginning of the appointment he said, "my guys are really busy right now, so it's not like we need this job." I wish the unprofessionalism ended there. He then proceeded to criticize me, my wife, the previous owners, and the home inspector for letting our foundation issues get as bad as they did and a variety of other "code violations" that weren't even related to the foundation. He claimed he was searching for a "second crack" to indicate which direction our foundation was shifting, claiming he didn't want to oversell me services. Somehow, the two other companies I called were able to tell me what I needed without this mythical "second crack." After about 20 minutes of poking around the entirety of my yard and house and foundation, he said he wanted to come back with a camera to investigate further. He said he wouldn't charge me to come back (because that's what I was really worried about....not). Prior to him leaving I told him to call me when he was ready to come back with the camera. I expected him to come within a month. He then said he would rather come back during the rainy season which would be January or February depending on snow, but realistically it would be April at the earliest. Are you kidding me? Meanwhile, he said our foundation might continue to sink, we would definitely get water into the basement, but we shouldn't worry because "our house wasn't going to collapse." Needless to say, my wife and I decided to use another company for our foundation repair because we wanted our finished basement back to normal so the rest of our house didn't have to act as a glorified storage unit, and any money we would have saved from him not "overselling" us services, would have likely gone toward repairing any water damage we'd receive during the winter months.

There are still wide cracks outside and still a large gap in the living room. Left all our shrubbery and small tree in a big pile on our front yard for us to remove. When they put the dirt back in our front bed it was up to the window until I complained then they took some out. Left our driveway a mud pit. Basically ruined our floors. Had to come back because they smashed our heating ducts. When they came back and fixed them they left two more huge patches of cemented up holes. They even used our trash bags because they forgot to bring some!

Mr. Jack Klein was personable, knowledgeable about his product/service, punctual, etc. But after other estimates and expert professional advice, I did not need 3 sides of my home mudjacked/tiered/ anchored. I would have spent $12K and the problem still would not have been remedied. My foundation is solid. The problem lied elsewhere. Was he professional in his demeanor? Absolutely. Was he professional in his assessment of the actual work my home needed and his recommendation? I'd say not. It's so important to get multiple professional opinions and estimates. He came in the same price range as a competitor, but this was not the work I needed.

It went terrible, absolutely poor experience. I have never dealt with anyone like that before on the list.
Description of Work: He did not show up for an estimate and he did not call. The first time he called and said he couldn't make it for the appointment because he had a flat tire and he would call tomorrow. He never ended up calling so I had to call him. The receptionist said she would have him call me. He calls me back while I'm at work, I asked him to hold and he hung up on me. He was not reliable at all.

Arrived as scheduled and reviewed the work I wanted done as part of the deal. That work was performed expeditiously. He also looked at another problem in the basement wall and advised on it. Told me what I could do and what not to do; also gave me a price quote on his doing the work. I was most pleased with the service provided and the advice.

I have a small leak in my basement when it rains really hard so I called for the foundation inspection. The rep showed up on time and was very professional and informative. Because of the harsh winter and especially heavy snow loads, our home suffered from a sunken foundation beneath a load-bearing wall in the interior of our home. This condition manifested itself with cracked drywall, sloping floors, and interior doors that would not close. We invited 5 contractors to provide an assessment and estimate. Two of the 5 contractors declined to provide an estimate, because they didn't feel the work aligned with their capabilities. For the other 3 contractors, we obtained estimates. Since these estimates were all surprisingly close to each other (within $1000), because of both good reviews on Angie's List, and an extremely professional/knowledgeable Sales Rep (Jack Kline), we selected "Ram Jack Ohio" to do the work for us. Before I continue with the review, let me state up front that if you find yourself needing to have your foundation re-leveled and reinforced in a home that has a slab foundation, that you should expect the job (regardless of who is doing it) to be dirty, noisy, and very expensive. Prepare for this mentally ahead of time, and the experience might be less stressful on you and your family. Now for the review. As already mentioned, the "Ram Jack Ohio" Sales Rep was extremely professional and knowledgeable. I can't say enough good things about him, and I definitely can't say the same for all the other contractors that provided us with an assessment/estimate (one in particular was a disgrace to the sales profession). The "Ram Jack Ohio" Sales Rep made 2 visits to our home before we signed the contract, and both times he was punctual and clearly explained what was going to be involved in the process. He visited a 3rd time when it was time for the work to begin, so that he could share his assessment with the contractors. Despite this being a noisy, dirty job, the "Ram Jack Ohio" contractors did a very thorough job of keeping the dust & dirt contained to the work area, and they cleaned up at the end of each day. My strong suggestion to you as a homeowner, is to cover any belongings that remain in or near the work area as thoroughly as possible, because concrete dust has a way of getting onto any surface that isn't covered, or into any drawer that isn't sealed. The contractors were very polite, friendly, hard-working, and professional throughout the job. The only negative comment I have is that start/end times seem to be rather arbitrary, and workdays were anywhere between 3 hours to 8 hours. I suspect they were working on other jobs at the same time as mine, and if I could do this over again I would have stipulated a full crew working full time until my job was done. As it was, I was quoted a 1-week job that actually took a full 3-week to complete. Some of the delay was due to unexpected job conditions, but I feel the majority of the delay was within their control. The end result is that "Ram Jack Ohio" successfully fixed our problem - everything is level now, and we now have a foundation that will maintain its integrity for many years. Though I hated spending my money on something like this, I feel that it was spent wisely given our circumstances, and that the future generations of owners who live in our home will benefit from us taking care of this problem "the right way".
Description of Work: Slab leveling, which involved core drilling into the slab, installing slab piers and associated brackets, lifting until level, filling cores with concrete, and then back-filling the slab void that was created from the lift.

He came out on time and walked around the foundation inside and out. I was suppose to receive a report of some kind that describe what issue he saw and option available for addressing them.
