MJ Tree Service, Inc

Had to call them multiple times to try to obtain a quote. They will not let their estimator talk to the homeowner - the lady says you have to give specific info of work to be done. So I provided all of the info down to the species of tree and location. I had to provide this info 2 times and she said the guy came out and couldnt figure out which trees. I said thats why I told you to have him call me so I can show him and we are on the same page. She said it takes too much time to have the estimator knock on the door and have the homeowner show what needs done (which is absolutely ridiculous). You had someone come out and waste their time because they can't knock on door to ask which tree work needed done? Have called 3 companies since and all have someone coming to meet me in person and walk the yard. I can't comment on how the actual work performed is by this company but their customer service and estimating process is atrocious and would not recommend anyone to have to deal with them. The sad thing is, I was referred by someone who used them and told them I was referred, and I got treated this poorly. The lady said "we are going to pass on this job" - this after giving them 2 weeks to provide me a quote. They clearly have no consideration for people's time.

I was very pleased with the service provided. The price was very affordable and the service provided was excellent. They were very prompt and professional.

Crew showed on the day and time scheduled. The crew was very professional and had equipment needed to to complete the work. When the job was completed my yard was clean and the work i needed done was complete. I will use MJ Tree for future work and would recommend them to anyone I know that needs tree service.

This company probably does a great job as I got recommendations from NextDoor. However, I have a few trees to cut down and they would not send someone out to give an estimate unless I told them over the phone exactly what I needed. The number of trees I would have cut down would depend on the estimate.. I would like to have as many trees cut down as i could afford, but this is not information I have readily over the phone. There are too many other tree cutting services out there, that I need to argue with the person who answered the phone.

Stop paying for the big names. MJ Tree Service does an incredible job professionally and high quality for a fraction of the price. Called for an estimate and received the next day. Service was scheduled and they were prompt (actually early) and got right down to business. Took the time to protect lawn and landscaping. Had two trees removed, one was dead and dropped quickly the other was close to 100 feet tall and unfortunately diseased. Service was completed efficiently and did a complete clean up (neighbors noticed the pfessionalism and quality). I am a repeat customer and will continue to call for there service and refer everyone I meet.

It went exceedingly well. The crew was courteous, hard working and did an excellent job.

The service of the removal of the trees was very good. They even trimmed trees that were not in the quote. However, I almost did not use them because the person on the phone was trying to scare me about other tree services (not bonded, not having worker's comp, insurance not up to date etc.). Also she asked if I had other quotes and wanted to know what they were. If somebody was to ask me I would say she was the owner's wife and each job helped her vacation plans.

If I had not used this company before I probably would not have used them this time. The reason being I felt the person on the phone was trying to scare me about other tree service companies. I was asked who else I was getting estimates from and that cost should not be the main factor in my choice. It was stated to me several times that just because a company is bonded does not mean I would not have to go through my insurance company if something went wrong. I felt this person was the spouse of the owner and more work meant a better vacation this year.

Great! Showed up when they said they would. Tree was down in no time. Did a good clean up job and stump grinding.

The men were on time, talked to me and we went over what was going to be done and started working right away. They worked till it was completed and cleaned all the debris, everything was completely cleaned up when they were done. Very professional and would use them again when needed and would recommend them highly

MJ Tree Service came out and gave me a quote very promptly. They were recommended to me by my neighbor down the straight who also had an excellent experience. MJ Tree Service was able to remove my trees and grind the stumps without damaging my yard or the other trees. I am beyond happy with the work. So happy I recommended them to a friend who also used them to remove pine trees near his house.

Not good. Female from MJ called to complain about me giving them an F. I explained that this is how Angie's List works and they should have called. Very argumentative. She claimed that their estimator said tree was already down and in a pile. He either went to wrong address or lied. Tree is still up, all 28 feet of it just ten feet from the road. Not coming down till end of the month. Still with all that, they never called about the estimate until they saw an F in Angie's list.

MJ Tree service was fantastic. I contacted them on Tuesday May 30th. They came out to quote the same day. They did the work on Wednesday. Four 30 ft trees in 2 hours with clean up. They had the equipment to do the job efficiently and quick. The team worked in solid concert with professionalism. I would rehire again. Great outfit!

MJ Tree did an excellent job. They were prompt, efficient and did a very good job cleaning up the job site. This is the second time I used them in the last six months and all of the above comments also apply to the first job which was cutting down a large maple tree which was dying.

The crew did an excellent job of cutting down the tree and removing all the dead wood. There were a lot of holes and depressions left by the felling of the tree, and Mike and his crew came a couple of days later and filled the holes, planted grass seed, and put straw over the areas. This was way above and beyond what other tree services do! I highly recommend MJ Tree Service and would definitely hire them again.

BEST CONTRACTOR I HAVE DEALT WITH IN 40 YEARS. Called Mike. Just by coincidence, he happened to be in the area on another job. Was at my home within 15- 20 minutes. Gave an excellent bid. His crew (six+) and three trucks arrived . Work completed in a professional and polite manner. They work well as a team. Completed all work requested. Absolutely delighted with results.

I left a message for Mike about removing 5 dead ash trees and grinding the stumps. He called me back within the day for the details. He surveyed the job and quickly called me back with an estimate. He explained thoroughly what the job would entail and I hired him to do the work. He and is crew were out the same week to complete the task. They were quick, efficient and professional and cleaned up after themselves. I am very happy with the job they did and highly recommend them to anyone needing tree work.

I called and needed a tree trimmed last minute. Mike came out on a Sunday quoted the job and was back first thing in the morning to complete it. The work was wonderful. He cleaned up all of the leaves and twigs and did a fantastic job. I would definately use them again. Everything was done well and exactly what we asked them to do.

Did not hear from them for several weeks. We called in June, he explained it had been too wet to bring in the crane and the yard had to be dry. We understood. Did not hear from them. We called again at the end of August - received a return call on Monday, August 31 saying they could not get the crane in the yard so it would be impossible to remove trees. Now Mike, owner, had been here twice at least, once when he quoted us and once when he said it was too wet. Did he not know of any problem at that point and why hadn't he discussed alternatives? I asked about having them cut down instead of craned, and the person calling really didn't have an answer . Very disappointed in this company. We had an agreement and they never lived up to there part of the agreement. I think the abundance of work available to forestry companies this year due to the Emerald Ash borer issue has made them greedy and he rethought his estimate.

I discovered on May 26th that we needed to remove a tree in front yard prior to moving forward with excavating and replacing sewer line that was causing back up in house. I had used MJ Tree Service about a year ago and called him. I left a voicemail stating the timeliness of a response was essential. He called shortly after and was at my house approximately 30 minutes later. He provided a competitive quote and returned in 1 hr to remove tree and grind stump. His response to my urgency was fantastic. He and his team are fantastic at what they do.
