SAWMILL LAWN MOWER REPAIR

Work done as advertised, mower returned in time for first mowing of season-- with a full tank of fresh gas...which was above and beyond advertised service. Will use this vendor again.

Very speedy service. Picked up on Thursday and brought back on Friday!

Went great. Was ready to scrap 22-year-old mower and buy another. Called Sawmill Lawn Mower Repair on a chance. Barry asked me to leave it in driveway. He came by that day. Tuned up the engine. And the mower has started and worked great ever since. That was over 6 months ago.

The repairs went great. The cost was discussed ahead of time and did not go up more than was discussed. The repair took longer than promised. Pick-up and drop-off is part of the normal routine, but I arranged to go pick mine up because I really needed it back. They preferred cash or check. They said they had a way to use credit/debit cards but had never used it before. They knew what they were doing and the repair was done well, but the business side of things was a little lacking.

Well! And completed in short order.

When the work was completed, he dropped off the equipment at my house. Both pieces of equipment are working like new. Besides the work, the best part of this was the pick-up and drop-off, highly recommend.

VERY fast service. I called Tuesday afternoon and left a voicemail. He called me back Wednesday and picked it up that afternoon. It was finished Thursday afternoon and he delivered it back to my home Friday. The pick-up and drop-off aspect of the service is very convenient, and he guarantees the work for the season. He tuned my lawn mower last spring, and I expect to do the same this year.

Called Barry in late June early July to schedule service on a snowblower. Told him there was no hurry, and he indicated he would call me back when was planning to be in my area to arrange a pickup. After three weeks or so, I called back to make sure I was still on his list. I wasn't. Not a big deal, paperwork got lost, it happens. I asked him about arranging another pickup. He asked about arranging pickup today, but I would not be able to set it out for him. He said he would call back when he was in the area. I asked him to please remember this time as this arrangement had not worked for me the first attempt. He immediately got very snippy and aggressive with me on the phone...like he was doing me a favor. I told him I would take my business elsewhere. I usually like dealing with small businesses/sole proprietors. They often do good work at a fair price. The trade-off is usually good book-keeping. I get it. But, you still need to at least pretend you care about inconveniencing your customers. And, there's just no reason to be a jerk. Buyer beware.

Very smooth, and quick, response. I was expecting it to take 5-7 days and he turned it around in just 2, which was great since the grass is growing fast this time of year. The fact that he does the pick-up and drop off is fantastic. I moved here from another city where that service would have cost at least 50% more. The amount I paid is comparable to what I paid in my prior city, but I would have needed to do the pick-up and drop-off myself. I was very pleased and will work with him again next year.

I call him and he comes right out and picks it up. He is a very nice man. The price is good.

Barry was great to work with. He was on top of everything and communicated with me frequently. Barry came out and picked up the snowblower on the day we arranged ( a Saturday ) and had it back to me that evening all tuned up and repaired. Just in time for another snow storm. I never dreamed that in the middle of winter and in between snow storms I would get such quick and wonderful service.

Very efficient and personable. Picked up my leaf blower at my home and quickly had it up and running and delivered back to my door. Very reasonable cost. Recommend this company highly!

The service was great! The snowblower worked very well all season, which was important with rough winter season we had in the Midwest this year.

I have used this company many times before. Their charges were somewhat higher than I had expected, but they had been very courteous and professional. This time, however, the mower was returned with the blade not tightened. It could have cause injuries. I called the company and they came back to take the mower. It was returned with the blade tightened, but there was no apology. I was told that things like this can happen, particularly when they are busy. I see this, however, as totally unacceptable. It's a safety issue.

After using Sawmill Services for 18 years I have learned to call early, as they get very busy as the lawn mowing season approaches. I called by mid-February, and Barry was able to pick up my mower in about a week and had it serviced and returned to me a little over a week later. Everything went very smoothly this year. He always does quality work and has been very helpful answering questions for me.

Fast Friendly, Professional. I called to get a repair estimate and he was AT MY HOUSE in 10 mins, fixed my mower and gone in less than 30. I don't care if it was just dumb luck, that's impressive.

Very good. Very friendly, flexible to accomodate time for pick up. They picked up mower when I left it available in front of house and I didn't even have to be there. When I called to see when it might be completed, they were very cordial and flexible to find out the status and then arrange for the product to be dropped off. Everything went very smoothly. Lawnmower works great too. Cost also very reasonable.

They pick the lawn mower up and deliver it when finished. They ask that the check is on the door when they drop the mower off. This last time, they had already picked up the mower, and he said he would call when he was going to bring it by. I was teaching a piano lesson, and he left a message on my machine that he was going to come by that evening, I did not hear the message. That evening, he was standing on my porch. I went to the door and wrote the check. He was very angry When I finished teaching, 15-20 minutes later, I listened to the second message he had left. Apparently he had come to the door expecting a check, and called me from my front porch. He was very angry on the message. He said that I had done this to him for years and he no longer wanted my business. I have always paid him on time, and was home and ready to write the check in this case. I was shocked! I wrote him a letter that I did not know there was any problem, and that I did not mind him knocking on the door. I told him I was shocked and that if he no longer wanted my business I would honor that request. I think this is a terrible way to treat a customer.

Overall it went well. It was convenient as he picked up the snow blower from my front porch, but it took awhile for them to "get to work" on the snow blower as they said they had other things to work on, which was frustrating as it was right before a snow storm. After a few day, I phoned back to see about the progress and he said it was almost done, but wondered if I wanted him to fix the electric starter, which I went ahead and did for an additional cost. When it was finished, they dropped it off on my front porch again. I wasn't keen on leaving a check on the door, but that was the only way I could do it without having to be home to do the exchange.

Barry picked up the snowblower the same day I called and had it back two days later. (He would have had it back within one day, but needed to get tubes for the tires.) He really had to work to get the wheels off the axle and the tires off the rims, but charged only $20 ea to change the tubes. It now runs as well as when it was new - and it's more thn 20 years old!

Very old Lawn Boy mower would not start. Barry picked up the mower, repaired it and timely returned it. It runs like new.

Barry picked up both mowers(one at my mother's house). My mother's mower was done in about a week and returned to her house. My mower needed a replacement battery. Barry put on the new battery and discovered it would start, but would not keep a charge. So he ordered another battery and it works fine. He also replaced my gas tank as it was leaking and also installed the proper parts for the blade assembly. All this took awhile, but would rather it take longer than to get it back and have to have repeat service calls to correct.I feel that Barry took ownership of the repairs and made sure they were done right. Barry is very personable and it shows he cares about doing the job right. This was my first time going with Barry and will continue going using his service in the future.

Was very professional and explained about his services. Explained that he does not do p/u's in our area but recommended someone we could try for the work we needed. That company he referred us to never returned our call. If we have the opportunity to refer this company to anyone I would not hesitate based on his responses on the phone, however, we did not actually use him.

Went well. On the day of a snow storm (of course!) I could not start the snow blower. Barry came out during the storm, found the problem and got it running. He was committed to the quality of his work -- this impressed me. It would have been better to have been right the first time, but his response really impressed me.
