They emailed appropriate information that I requested and answered all of my questions in a professional manner. The three men who moved us were no nice and very fast! They look great care with all of our stuff and nothing at was damaged. If we ever move again, it will be with Moving Ahead! They are fantastic!

Description of Work: We moved my mom from a large split level she lived in for 30 years. There were steps, and many items and boxes. My mom lived 3 hours from me and a few of my sisters so I was constantly e-mailing Spensir about the details of the move up until the days before the move. My brother lives where she did, and he did a photo inventory to let Moving Ahead, and 3 of my sisters what was in the house-this was a HUGE help, because, Spensir said we could have a 16 ft. truck on stand by, if the 26 ft. truck did not hold everything. 3 young men worked swiftly moving things while my siblings packed some things in our own vehicles and helped relatives load up their vehicles with items and memories. My mom is 85 and my dad passed away in July. They have 6 kids and lots of things that collected over the years. The sofas were wrapped with plastic, the truck was packed so well and with such experience....I dubbed these guys the Jenga masters...it was like watching someone piece a puzzle together. We got everything into the 26 ft truck...we did pay a $150 dollar stand by fee for the unused truck-but it was worth it since the new owners would be in the house within 4 days and we had to leave when the moves did, and we could not leave anything on the premises. God Bless anybody who has to load furniture for a living-it hard work...and that morning, the temp. dropped into he 20's and the wind picked up-it was bone cold. My mom was so pleased. This was such an emotional move. I am glad it is over...she is snug as a bug in her new smaller house, living with my youngest sister. I would use this company again in a heartbeat. They even moved a cabinet up the steps and outside so my nephew and his new wife, could put it into the van they rented and take it to their new home...it was quite the "party"...all 3 men were cordial, and clean looking, no nasty language or attitude, they paid attention to detail and brought things to our attention. Thank you so much Moving Ahead for getting our mom down here for what we are calling her "new adventure" Susan Edwards Marysville Ohio

 + -1 moreJered and Joe arrived promptly for the appointed time. They methodically and efficiently removed all items from the apartment into their moving truck. They drove to the location of the condo and proceeded to unload the contents of the truck into the condo. There were no issues with any damaged goods and they were very accommodating in placing the furniture as desired.

 + 0 moreI called Moving Ahead Services after another mover had to cancel. Luckily they'd had a cancellation on my moving day. I described my move and they determined that I needed two trucks and six movers to get the job done. They arrived at 9 a.m. as scheduled and each of the movers introduced themselves to my family and got to work. At one point they had the entire garage staged with furnishings to go on the trucks and could not work any faster, so they called for a third truck to head to the storage unit to get that loaded while the rest of the guys worked at the house. They were very careful with my things, and disassembled and reassembled as necessary, and correctly, including our piano. They were professional, friendly, and cheerful, even while dealing with stairs to three floors. The whole process took about eight hours of the guys working non-stop. When it was time to leave each of the movers said goodbye to each family member. They did a great job and we really liked them.
Description of Work: Moved one large house full of furnishings plus the contents of a storage unit.

 + 0 morepThe process went better than I could possibly have imagined. It was the kind of experience that takes the fear and loathing out of the moving process. We'd had a horrible experience with another provider in loading the PODs, getting extra items to our storage units, etc. Thus we looked for another provider for the unloading. Friends with whom we were staying between houses used their Angie's List subscription to find Moving Ahead Services. I called them, was impressed with that conversation, and purchased a service package consisting of 2 26' trucks and 3 movers for 8 hours. The morning of the move, they called to say that another move had been cancelled and they could give us a 4th mover for a very favorable price ($150 for the 8 hours). Given the problems we'd had with loading, I wanted every opportunity for this to go well, and it worked out significantly better to have 4 movers vs. 3. Their recommendation of using 2 trucks instead of 1 also worked out well. The content of both storage units could have fit into 1, but it would have had to have been packed very carefully, and it would have been time-consuming to do it that way. The 2nd truck was $125 for the day. I also recommend going that route. Overall, we filled 2,800 sq ft of finished space and probably another 1,000 sq ft of unfinished space with all of our belongings. The whole time, from arrival at the storage facility, to completion of the unloading and furniture assembly, took 7:15, which included the 10 minute drive from storage unit to home. The movers were very professional, obviously very experienced, but also outgoing and basically a pleasure to work with for the day. They arrived exactly on time. They showed great attention to detail and care for our belongings. They were patient as we had to make decisions about where to put items. As I said, a fantastic experience overall. I won't think twice to use them in the future if occasion calls for it.
Description of Work: 1. Loaded the content of 2 storage units into 2 26' trucks. 2. Unloaded those trucks as well as 2 PODs into our new home. 3. Assembled bed frames, mirrors, etc.

 + -1 moreI couldn't be more pleased with Moving Ahead Services. I was able to book them on short notice (on a Sunday) after having second thoughts on the company I had hired off of Craigslist. I had heard horror stories about moving companies and Moving Ahead put my worries to rest. They asked me a lot of questions over the phone about the contents I would be moving. They outlined their exact fee schedule (hourly for the move out, flat rate for the drive, and hourly for the move in). They gave me a quote which they emailed me along with their insurance information. On the day of the move, the three movers showed up promptly with an ample size truck. They were courteous, professional and pleasant. They were very careful with my belongings, wrapping furniture and doorways. They worked efficiently. The move in was a breeze, even though there are a lot more stairs in my new home. They positioned everything exactly where it needed to be, and even tightened furniture that was loose to begin with. By the time they left, it looked like I had been there for days, not hours. I would highly recommend this moving company. The final price was exactly what they quoted me with no hidden fees or charges. (This was my first experience with Angie's list, and I don't normally write reviews, but I will be going forward.)

 + -1 moreMoving Ahead was responsive to our request for an estimate and to schedule the move. Team of three men who arrived were friendly, couteous, and exceptionally hard workers. Arriving on time, they were to work in minutes, hauling things out of the basement. Worked without stopping until 5:00 p.m. when they had the final item unloaded. They were great about taking care with our possessions - not a single things was damaged or broken; and took great care to try and put everything where it should go in the ne house. So appreciated their hard work and care. Would recommend highly!

 + -1 moreThey were prompt. The biggest things I liked were the price, they were very reasonable, and they loaded and unloaded me in the same day. I requested they lay cardboard on my hardwood floors and they did that. We have 2 dogs here and they were very respectful to them, our property, and us. They were very polite. Before they loaded my things they brought all scratches or dings to my attention so I would know they did not do it. It was a very good experience. They made the move and transition very comfortable for us. Alan the guy that came to do the estimate even came out with the crew to help load. They were also very flexible. We were originally scheduled on 9/25 but we had to push that back because the buyers of our home still had to work out the mortgage processing. I would highly recommend them.
