INTERSTATE GAS COMPANY (IGS)

We subcontracted with IGS to provide natural gas to our house. We were told that all we had to do was pay our regular gas company as we had always done. When we moved in February of 08, we did not sign up with then again as it became apparent that we were not saving as much as they had indicated. We received a bill from IGS about a month later. We called and were assured that our gas company would pay the bill from our budget account which had a balance of about $400. We received another bill from IGS and letters asking us to sign up with them. We refused. Recently we went to refinance our house. We found out that the $154 bill had been sent to collections. We were unable to refinance because of a low credit score that had been over 700. After many calls to our gas company and IGS, our gas company told us that we had to request that we send them the money. We were unaware of this and contacted IGS again. We told them that we would be glad to pay the bill and requested that they take the collection agency report off our credit report. Their records indicate that their Representative did tell us that the gas company would pay this. Jennifer Webb stated that she could not take the report off, but would send a letter explaining the situation. She lied. After talking to the ICC, we were told that the company could take off. Furthermore, after paying the bill, Jennifer Webb did not send the letter. This report will stay on our credit for seven years. This company lied and lied to cover up their mistakes. I will never do business with them again and will tell anyone I meet not to do business with them. Customer service, apparently, is at the bottom of list of priorities. CEO Scott White are you listening to this? I hope so.
