HOOVER CO

Had a gift certificate for $100 which we planned to use to general tune-up of two Hoover vacs. Gift certificate had no restrictions printed on it except that it had to be used in 6 months and no change would be given if the purchase was less than $100. Went to pick up vacs. company refused to honor gift certificate. Said that we could only use it to purchase new products. Faced with the ultimatum of wasting the certificate or purchase a new product we opted for product purchase. Found out after making purchase they did not have product in stock. Said we could take floor model and they would order new one which would take 2 days. Have not received new product after 3 weeks. Also found out the price charged was $10 higher than msrp (checked manufacture web site) and $20 higher than another company. Service charge was $30 higher than quote from another top rated Angie's List Company. Used this company because of the gift certificate.

Awesome! Turns out that Hoover has come out with a bunch of new models and the shop had some overstock. Instead of fixing our old vacuum, he gave us a new one for the price of the repair or maintenance! The clerk could have just tried to up sell us into buying a new vacuum, but didn't. We ended up getting a great deal.

I brought my vacuum cleaner in to the store to be checked. Apparently the jostling to get the vacuum into the car and store ''fixed'' the problem because it worked when I got there. The technician still gave the vacuum a quick look over for any obvious problems. He did not find any problems, did not charge any thing for the quick check, and offered to take the vacuum back to my car.
