It was very good. The salesman was very helpful. He told me about the dryer and you have a lot of choices. I was pleased with my purchase. They installed it. They came and took my old dryer away so I didn't have to deal with that. It was easy, very fast. The salesman knew about dryers. I'm not sure if the salesman said he had one like that or what but it convinced me to buy it. It was very informative and easy. It didn't take me long to purchase it. The installers were very professional and installed it and took away the old dryer. It was very convenient to have them do it. It was easy.

We had delivery problems. They came by to deliver it and said the door to the kitchen had to come off. We had to re-schedule. The second time they came, there was a problem with the paperwork, and they couldn't bring it in the house. We called Home Depot and they just didn't interpret the paper work right. Finally, the third time we scheduled it, everything worked right, and they were able to bring it in.

They're really close to our house, which is why we use them. But if Lowe's is closer, we'll probably go there.

Purchased a new dishwasher for black Friday last year 2014: First time around the zip code was put in wrong by the sales person in appliances, she replaced one digit in error. They wouldn't deliver even though the driver was 2 miles away. He missed his time slot, really? 2nd time around: Two weeks later (after I initially waited 3 weeks for the delivery and installation) the dishwasher did not fit, that was my fault the dishwasher was to big in the front even though the back fit fine and I solely relied on the measurements on HD's website. So I returned said dishwasher and went to the store (again) and bought the lowest end model which surprisingly is a wonderful little dishwasher. They said that they would give me a the Black Friday discount even though this was about a month later, but never did. Even when I explained it to the store employee, by this time I just gave up and had it installed at full price and called it a day. I need a new refrigerator but I think I'll just buy one at Lowe's and have my nephew install it, I'd rather he get the outrageous price for installation then some big store who really does a shoddy job.

They came out last spring and we signed a contract. They have basically abandoned us. They won't return calls and I haven't heard from them in 2 months. They were supposed to do a master bathroom remodel over the summer and no work has been done. We picked out all new hardware, the granite for the counter tops etc. We asked them to schedule after our vacation in September but we've never heard back from Doug Jenkins about our appointment. We think that he no longer works for Home Depot and have cancelled our contract.

The gentleman who helped was in the plumbing department. He seemed very knowlegable and everything went fine for me later. i would always use Home Depot in future and have.

I had found a Shaw brand carpet I liked and got quotes from two local carpet stores. Then I was in HD and saw a Shaw carpet that looked identical and sounded like the same product from the description and warranty, but it had a different name. I took home 4 color samples in gradient shades and each one was identical to the 4 samples I'd gotten at the other stores in color, look, feel, etc. So I called Shaw to see if these were the same carpet under different names. I found out the Shaw Anso Platinum (carpet store label) and Shaw Expressive II (HD store label) were in fact made of the same BCF nylon material but they are made slightly differently and given different color names to give HD a proprietary product (6 twists vs 6.1 twists per inch) but from my perspective it was the same product. So I was excited to see the HD price was lower per sq. ft. plus they had a great $37 whole house install price (carpet store was charging $280 for install). I expected to order from HD and save over two hundred dollars. WRONG! I paid for the measurement. He came out and kept getting numbers a couple inches bigger than the other carpet stores were using for the various wall lengths. I even laid my tape measure out on the floor and showed him at one point that his measurement wasn't correct and he said his digital measuring was more accurate than my tape measure. HD emailed the estimate. The carpet stores had said I needed to order 360 sq. ft. but HD's estimate was using 411 sq. ft. I called to discuss. The person at the call center who does the measuring estimates was very difficult. I told her I did not want a seam in front of my kitchen door (the other carpet company was not putting it there) and she said that would increase the square footage even more. I asked if I could email or fax a copy of the diagram and measurements the other stores were using so she could tell me why HD needed me to order so much more carpet but she wouldn't allow that. Because HD was overstating the amount required by 50-60 sq. ft. to increase the material cost by about 15% they were also increasing the cost of other items like the pad as well as the carpet , they were $300 more expensive than the store selling the carpet at a higher price and with a higher install charge. I ordered 360 sq. ft. of carpet from the other store (same 12 ft. width HD was selling) and it was installed today. The two people I spoke with at the HD call center both insisted the carpet stores must have measured wrong and it absolutely could not be done for less than 411 sq. ft. Since 360 sq. ft. was installed today, I know HD did inflate their numbers and was not honest in this process. That really surprised me but I can't view it any other way. I've always thought of HD as a trustworthy retailer but I'll be leery dealing with them in the future. I liked the store clerk but the people at the center were horrid. In addition, the people at the HD center told me they would not seam the new carpet to the old carpet in my bedroom but would only put down metal strips. When he store clerk called me (after I'd already told the other store to go ahead) he checked with his installer and said that also was not true and they do seam carpet they way I wanted it installed. Warning: HD's lower prices were fake in this instance so make sure you compare per sq. ft costs multiplied by the measurements any store will be using before deciding to go with HD.
Description of Work: I had an estimate for a carpet install done. The estimate cost was $35. I did not buy the carpet from Home Depot (see below before making mistake of paying them for an estimate).

They subcontracted the job. It was very good. The cabinets looked brand new. They were very timely and they got it done quickly. When they left, there was no mess. Everything was done to our satisfaction. They were very knowledgeable about what they were doing. It was no problem having them in our home or anything like that. It was an A. We were very pleased with it. We thought the pricing was a little bit high but I think we just weren't expecting the cost to be that high. It seemed kind of high for what we had done but in terms of quality, service and everything, they were very good. Everything they did, they did very well. They were very professional. We kept their name in case we do similar things.

We went to order the door and they said it would take like three weeks to come in and we waited and never heard anything from them, so my husband went back to the store and they had never ordered it and we had to start over and they re-order it but didn't give us the sale price that we got on the other door. The guy brought the door out finally after we waited again for about 2 to 3 weeks and took our old door off and we were very clear that it all had to be done the same day because we have same issue with the dog, if we open the front door then he would take off, so he broke the door, opened a new boor and the new door was broken, so he wasn't able to put the new security door on and we had to wait for another couple of weeks with no storm door. Once we finally got the door and run it back, it only took him an hour to put it on and it's a good door. That was comfortable than some of the others we had checked but with the sale price would have been nicer. It was a good door. He showed up when he said he's going to. They did give us a discount on our credit card because the door was broken and we agreed that we're not going to argue with them anymore over anything.

They have independent people to install the water heater. When you walk into the store there is somebody who knows what they are talking about. They were able to help me find the right product. I went in to buy doors that were qualified for the energy tax credit and the doors that I bought did not qualify for the energy tax credit. The installer had an answer for everything, I was reading the installation instructions and they said that when the door was properly installed and balanced you could open it and it would stay put, he said that he couldn't do that to my doors because the walls in my house weren't straight. I said that's why you do the adjustments. Anytime I asked him about something he wasn't going to do it because of some kind of impracticality. I don't think that he was interested in installing them to customer satisfaction.

It went great. Our old washer died and could not be revived. We found a model we liked on-line at Home Depot, then called to order it from our local Home Depot. They recommended another model which was a better value, so we bought that. They delivered and installed it the next day and took away the old machine, leaving us the parts we wanted to use for planter. Very nice, very efficient, very helpful.

We purchased a new entrance door with sidelights and the door that was shipped was defective. The installers brought out the door anyway, and if we hadn't complained, they would have installed it. We asked the installer if it was his house, would he install it?--he admitted that no, he would not. So we ordered a new door and a few weeks later the crew installed it, but did a poor job, with overall second-rate work (e.g. screw heads showing where they should not be, door rubbing in frame). We had to redo the lock because the strike plate didn't line up quite right. Home Depot may use different subcontractors, but we sure weren't happy with this one.

The sub contractor came and installed the new carpets. They did not vacuum the mess and did not install back a two feet long piece of 1/4 round. I asked them to nail back the 1/4 round, they said that they don't have finish nails, I offered the nails because I have them in stock and all they need just two nails, they refused to do it. I called Home Depot to complain, their response was that is not in the contract unless I pay $1 per linear foot which is I could pay the $2 if the sub contractor asked for it. I paid $2500 for new carpets I could afford $2 if they asked for.

The installers were here on time (they were early actually, and waiting for me at my house). The main worker was great (he was also the measurer) and very personable. They did a nice job with the install. All remnants of their work was gone form my yard. They did leave a lot of finger marks all over my new door but it isn't a big deal. The work seems to be well-done and we are very happy.
Description of Work: We ordered a new front door (with two side lights) from Home Depot. The salesmen weren't as knowledgeable as those at Lowe's, but they had a sale, so we went with them. SJ Installers were contracted by Home Depot to install the new door.
