. I upgraded to Windows 10 and it didn't work right. They told me to go back to 7 and they would have to charge me $ 100 over and above my7 existing service contract for a back up first. After 4-5 days the gave me the computer back swaying that they couldn't load the Windows 7. when asked about the $ 100 they said that they did the back up so I won't get the money back. The worst part is the only problem with the computer wad a bad DVD drive and they couldn't figure that out. Now, lets talk about the Geek Squad telephone support. It's that best money I ever spent. Great folks(they even speak English) that are very sharp.They will spend hours on the phone with you until the problem is solved. I can't say enough good things about them.

They have a good selection and competitive prices but service and sales care various tremendously based on the employee.
Description of Work: I have had mixed results with this store. Greatly depends on the luck of the draw with who you get as a service person. I had a laptop repaired there and was very satisfied. I went in with a second one and the service rep. was a total tool. Did not know as much as I did and acted like he knew more.

Very good experience. They installed a new radio in my wife's Honda Civic. They noted that replacing Civic radios is common for them so they have keep the parts they need constantly in stock. They were able to install the radio the same day when I purchased it. In fact, I had to call the wife to bring her car into the store since the appointment was within 30 minutes and I was still shopping. Installation was quick. We live about 15 minutes from the store and by the time we got home they called to let us know the car was ready for pick up. They were done. Back at the store they walked my wife through the functions of her new radio and treated her no differently than if they would have been talking to a guy. We have used the Geek Squad to install a radio in the past and that is why we returned. A++ experience.

We went there to replace a "lemon" front loading machine. We have had it for 3.5 years and have had 5 service calls and they are unable to fix it. We are also at the end of completing an extensive laundry room remodel. We designed the laundry room to use the space efficiently and wanted to stack our W/D. Our contractor lined up the dryer vent perfectly and we had a custom made pan to fit the space. After our contractor hooked up the existing W/D it leaked 2 more times and we decided that we better just buy a new W/D to ensure the problem didn't happen again. We did lots of research prior to going to Best Buy. The sales person told us the the dimensions of the Samsung were identical to the LG that we had at home so they would fit fine. When they were delivered, they did not fit. First the stacking kit mounts to the back of the machine! Anyone who has ever stacked knows that if you are stacking it is to save space. First you set the washer in place. Then put the dryer on and secure it in place with the stacking kit. You can not do this with Samsung. You have to mount them together and then move BOTH in place together - a rather impossible task for almost anyone to lift both at the same time. Then, to make matters worse, because of their design, they are stacked in a waterfall design (dryer sits back about 4-5 inches further than the washer). This took up precious space so they didn't fit. The sales person should have known this. So, delivery #1 was refused. We went back to the store and ordered a dreaded LG as we were running out of time and we knew the LG would fit in our space. By this time we had to delay the install of our custom cabinets. Two days later the delivery people came. Prior to delivery they took all packaging off of the W/D and loaded it on the truck. However, the Washer was severely damaged. The entire side and top was smashed. The top of the washer would not even stay on. So, they couldn't be stacked. The delivery people should have and probably did notice this when the truck was loaded - it would have been impossible to miss. Delivery #2 refused and failed. Went back to the store, spoke to a manager. They said they would try to get it delivered again. The next open delivery day was Monday (same day as custom cabinet install). However, I needed them delivered earlier. So, the store manager made several calls and they promised to have them delivered today (Saturday) which is a regular delivery day for them. At 8:00 this morning we received a call that our washer and dryer did not make it on the truck from Cleveland (where the Best Buy warehouse is located) and that it would be impossible for the W/D to be delivered. Delivery would be almost impossible on Monday because they were full and we'd have to go back into the store. Delivery attempt #3 FAILED. We went back into the store. The manager was apologetic and sympathetic and said they were frustrated because they use a third party vendor for deliveries and this happens frequently. They are trying to change but it is a slow process and they claim it is hurting their appliance sales. They suggested we go elsewhere to get the washer and dryer because they were not certain they could ever get them delivered correctly. HH Greg and Sears both had next day (Sunday delivery). Sears was out of Stock and HH Greg had everything in stock and had a better price. The store employees at Best Buy were professional, but the Delivery Company was beyond terrible. They don't care about the customers and don't even attempt to make things right. I would not purchase an appliance at Best Buy until the change delivery vendors. Beware!

Not great. When the person at the front of the store informed me I was unable to make my payment in store, I asked to speak to a manager. I waited 5 minutes and then had to ask if this was an acceptable amount of time to be waiting to speak with a manager. It took another 3 minutes for a manager to approach me and tell me that he could not help me with my situation. I called Best Buy customer service to tell them about my situation and to inform them I will no longer patronize their company. The representative offered me a $15.00. Best Buy gift card for me to reconsider. I declined. I informed her that I would not use it or pass it along. It would go in the shredder if I received it. She did honestly seem dismayed.
Description of Work: Thought I had experienced a pleasant purchase of a computer. Did the 12 months same as cash deal. Still happy with my purchase, however, when I went to pay my first monthly bill in store I was not happy. They do not take in store payments. The associate that I dealt with during my purchase informed that they did. I show up two days prior to my payment being due and was informed of this. Too late to pay by mail or on line banking. Had to make my payment over the phone at an additional cost of $15.00. I went ahead and paid it off. I do not want to deal with this business again.

When I special ordered the Sharp Microwave (R-1870) originally, Best Buy matched a competitors price. At the time I felt this would be a pleasant experience. Since this situation another competitor has agreed to order me the upgraded stainless model (R-1874) for roughly the same price.
Description of Work: This situation concerned a large appliance special order with Best Buy. Initially, I received lousy and conflicting information from Best Buy on my order status. After much frustration I contacted Angie's List. Eventually, thanks to Angie's List I received a response from Best Buy. Even though their response addressed my concerns I am reluctant to shop there for any future major appliances or special orders.

I was disappointed in both cases. First of all, they had no compact dryers for sale. They offered to order something, but did not have any information on quality, function, etc. Second, the sales people did not know their products when I shopped for refrigerators. They could not tell me clearance between the wall and door, wall and back, top, etc.

The Lamp went out under warranty of HDTV. Best Buy could not send out a technician for a week. After speaking to the manager I was able to get someone to come in 3 days. Installed new lamp in TV to my satisfaction.

Employees at the store were friendly and helpful both when I dropped off and picked up camcorder. When I picked the camera up, the work summary sheet stated that standard yearly maintenance had been performed on the camcorder. It also stated that to prevent video from being washed out, I should turn off the "BACK LIGHT" feature. No repair was done to correct auto-exposure feature. The "BACK LIGHT" feature was not the cause of the auto-exposure problems. I have never used the feature, and I have verified that the auto-exposure problem still exists, both with the "BACK LIGHT" feature on and off. I will have to take the camcorder in for additional service to see if I can get the auto-exposure repaired.
Description of Work: Digital camcorder was taken in for repair, as the auto-exposure feature was washing out video in any kind of natural light. Camcorder was still under service plan, so there was no charge.

WE HAD VISITED MANY APPLIANCE STORES, INCLUDING ANOTHER BEST BUY. WE FOUND VARYING AMOUNTS OF MISINFORMATION AS WELL AS SOME ANNOYING SALES PEOPLE. SALES STAFF VARIED FROM INCREDIBLY CLINGY AND PUSHY TO INVISIBLE. HOWEVER, DAVID AT BEST BUY DUBLIN WAS AWESOME. HE HELPED US FIND THE EXACT GAS RANGE WE WANTED, EVEN THOUGH HIS STORE DID NOT CARRY IT. HE SPECIAL ORDERED IT, AND EVEN SAVED US A LITTLE MONEY. HE WAS HELPFUL, BUT DID NOT SUFFOCATE US. GREAT JOB. THE ONLY GLITCH WAS THE DELIVERY. EVEN THOUGH DAVID SET IT UP FOR THREE WEEKS LATER, IT ARRIVED EARLY. THE YOUNG GIRL WHO RE-SCHEDULED THE DELIVERY NEGLECTED TO ENTER THE DATA IN THE COMPUTER AND THUS, OUR RANGE DID NOT ARRIVE THE DAY IT WAS EXPECTED. HOWEVER, TIM WAS ABLE TO FIX THE SITUATION BY MAKING US THE FIRST DELIVERY THE NEXT DAY. AGAIN, GREAT EFFORT.
