Elliott Schaffer inspected our trees for disease and provided advice. He spent about 45 minutes walking our property, providing lots of info. Highly recommend and would use again.

Elliott Schaefer, I believe the sole proprietor of Environmental Horticultural Services, is a very knowledgeable horticulturist. We have a yard full of ash trees and we asked him to assess them for the emerald ash borer (EAB). Elliott explained that because our trees appeared to not have been previously treated for the EAB and showed many telltale signs of infestation (we just purchased our home last fall), that he would not recommend treatment, that the EAB is near the top of the infestation bell curve and that even if treated there was no guarantee that the trees would survive. We appreciated his honest advice as he could have suggested treatment, at considerable cost, but he was very honest with us. To validate his recommendation, a neighbor recently told me that it looked like he was going to have to cut down a number of his ash trees next year. And this is after several years of treatment for the EAB. We would highly recommend Elliott's knowledge and advice.

he came promptly to look at the tree. He left an estimate. I pre-paid and he offers a discount for this. He'll begin the treatment in May. It is a single treatment. He notifies you once a year annually as a reminder to re-apply the treatment.

I wasn?t there when they did the work. Now, my tree has 14 plugs and they have also put the shots in. They were fine.

The owners name is Elliott Schaffer. He is extremely knowledgeable and works with the researchers. He is talented in his field. I would give him a high recommendation.
