We received three bids to have our driveway work done. Dixon Concrete was not the lowest bid, however, because we are in their neighborhood, they matched the lowest bidder and we awarded them the job after looking at a few other driveways nearby they completed. Overall, we were not happy with the quality of the work completed for the following reasons: 1. The removal of the old driveway, garage floor and walkway went smooth enough until they took out our front step and broke the window on our storm door. They sent the door in to have the window replaced, paid for the repair and re-installed it a few days after the entire job was completed. If this was the only problem, it would have been minor and not a big deal. 2. We requested that the front step by the house be slightly angled away from the house so water would drain away. This was a simple request that should be standard operating procedure with concrete companies yet this was not done. 3. The finishing of the concrete in the garage was not smooth. There is no reason that a professional concrete company can't make a garage floor smooth but for some reason Dixon Concrete crew left many trowel marks in their work on the garage floor. I mentioned this to the owner and he didn't know what to say about the quality of their work on the garage floor. 4. The biggest issue with the entire project is that the driveway started to crack less than 6 months after the work was completed. We believe that this was due either to Dixon Concrete using a lower amount of concrete that was needed (and originally in thier bid) because they lowered their pricing or because they didn't properly compact the soil before the concrete was poured. Other contractors we have had working at our home have commented that there seems to be only 3" of concrete on the main driveway and this is too thin for driving cars over it not to crack. Now, three years later, there are many cracks in the driveway in all four major sections of it. We have not complained directly to Dixon Concrete but the owner has seen our driveway many times because he walks his dog by our house and has not once called or approached us about the problem. He tells prospective customers about other driveways he has done in and around our neighborhood but not about ours! I would not recommend using Dixon Concrete for your driveway work or you may experience cracking of the concrete starting several months after the job has been completed. If you'd like to see the quality of thier work you can drive by our home at 2370 Sonnington Drive in Dublin.
Description of Work: Dixon Concrete removed our old driveway, walkway to the house, front step to the house and entire two car garage concrete, poured and finished all of the above.

The first day, the workers were only there a few hours. They left trash (empty bottles and trash bag) in the yard. After the work was complete, the workers left two wheelbarrows with left over concrete. They tipped one over in the side yard causing cement and rocks to go in the yard. Our neighbors witnessed the workers cleaning out the wheelbarrows in our front yard causing cement to spray all over the plants, and there was cement and rocks in the plant beds. They were suppose to make the slab flush with the house, it sticks out about 1/2 inch. They left a "ledge" or lip of concrete at the bottom of the slab overlapping our patio pavers. From the sides of the slab, there are large holes where the cement wasn't blended in correctly. When the owner came to check on the job, I mentioned the rocks in the flower beds and the wheelbarrows. They were cleaned up a day later.
Description of Work: Removed old concrete patio slab and poured new slab reinforced with wire mesh.
