I don't buy jewelry very often. There are so many places available to purchase jewelry ... from various chain department stores, the internet, to mall locations and professional, fine jewelry retailers. For me, it was confusing and overwhelming. I was looking for really nice ring. It's an investment and one wants to be sure you are getting quality for an appropriate and good price. I did some homework before hand, but ultimately landed on visiting The Diamond Cellar. I was worried that they would be far from my price point, but was quite pleased they offer a good range for fine jewelry at varying price points. I learned a lot through the process and have fun doing it. I like that Diamond Cellar is a family owned business. I was even more impressed after reading about their company culture and local community commitment. Every time I have visited, I was greeted by their receptionist who has been helpful. She directed me to what I was looking for. The personnel here work as a team, offering assistance without being overbearing and frequently offered something to drink while I was waiting. I felt like a valued customer from the onset. They spent time answering all my questions and made me aware of things to consider about the jewelry that was choosing between. They were clear and helpful in understanding custom options and policies on resizing and returns. As the ring was a gift, I did need to have it resized later. The process went quite smoothly and happened quicker than I anticipated. I am quite pleased with my overall experience and the ring.

For our first anniversary, I wanted to buy a unique watch for my husband. After searching online and going to a couple of stores, I stopped into the Diamond Cellar on a whim. I spoke with Daniel Gordon and explained what I was looking for. He was fantastic to work with - walked me around the store to show me the watches that met my criteria, explained the different features and the pros / cons of each brand. Above all, he didn't try to and quot;upselland quot; me - I told him what my budget was and he helped me find watches that were within my price range. I found the watch I liked, but being price-conscious, I decided to keep looking. After a week of looking further, and going to a few other stores, I realized the price and the service I got from Daniel wasn't going to be matched anywhere. My husband LOVED the watch and had to go back to the store to get it fitted properly. He came home and told me what a fabulous experience he had even though he was just going in for some free service work. Daniel and the team at Diamond Cellar made this important purchase so easy and I will definitely consider them for future jewelry selections.

I expected to leave both earrings for repair. Kim took both earrings to a repair area and returned both in 5-10 min, no chg. !!! I expected a complicated repair bec of the small area and it appeared to be simple, quick and most importantly, the earring locks and I do not expect it to fall out now. Thank you Kim!
Description of Work: i have a pair of saphire/diamond earrings that needed a repair to prevent the post from falling out of my ear. (the post would not lock or click into place). I took both earrings in today for repair on the 1 earring and make sure the other one was ok (and estimated cost. )

I have been going to them for about six years now. They are just a quality place. Their customer service is wonderful. They do repairs, appraisals and have designer jewelers come in and they have Christmas time special time to come in and get better off prices. As far as I know it is just once a year that they back up everything, they check it for you at no charge. If you have a repair they will charge you. They are just great. You can trust them. I would continue to use them.
Description of Work: I used Diamond Cellar for my jewellery and appraisal and repairs. I also bought two pair of earrings this summer from them as well.

I was warmly greeted upon entering the beautiful store. It was explained to me exactly what was going to be done and when to expect to pick them up.
Description of Work: I had an 18" strand of Mikimoto pearls restrung. They did an excellent job and the pearls were ready when they told me they would be. I would use them again. I went to the Easton store.

The customer service at the Easton location was great at first. I gave the salesman my budget of under $1,500. My first tip off should have been the salesman did not take notes on what I wanted. I asked for my family names to be engraved in script on the inside of the band. We went to the case and I picked a band with side diamonds. They would then take my two diamonds and the additional one I purchased from them, place them in the band, engrave the names and add a decorative edge to match my wedding band. I was so excited to be creating a family heirloom. A couple of weeks later I got a call from the salesman and he said the diamonds were too big to fit in the band and it would only be about $100 more for a custom band. I said "okay", because I wanted my ring made one way or another. He said he would call when it was all finished. He called and said that the ring was in but they forgot to add the decorative edge to match my wedding ring. I thin asked it they added the names and he said no. So, I gave him all three family names again and he said it wouldn't be too long for it to get done. Not a problem, I understand things get missed and I wasn't in a huge rush to get the ring. I was just excited! When I went to pick up the ring on April 27th (about 6 weeks after I placed the order) I was paying the balance and checking out the ring. Several things did not look right. The side edge didn't match my wedding band at all, the side diamonds were spaced unevenly and one was taller then the other three. Plus, the engraving was in Times New Roman and crocked on the inside of the ring. My original salesman was helping another client, so the woman who was completing the order took my ring over to the jeweler to see if anything could be done. While the customer service person was checking with the jeweler on how it could be fixed, my disappointment brought me to tears. I was embarrassed that I was so upset, and angry that my sentimental ring appeared to be ruined and not to the standards Diamond Cellar promotes. After I left without being offered much but, “what would you like to do?” all I wanted was to leave out of embarrassment and frustration. I should have been given options and explained how The Diamond Cellar was going to make this right for me. I should have been better taken care of as a customer. I then called my husband so he could go with me to the Sawmill store to get the ring corrected. The Sawmill location manager was very nice to me, agreed with the mistakes, fixed the errors and I now have a beautiful ring to show for it. He also noted that the ring had been "rushed through a couple of times" Long story short, just go to the Sawmill location if you are going to use them.
Description of Work: I had my engagement ring, my great grandmother’s diamond engagement ring and an additional diamond placed into one ring. I asked them to put all of the diamonds into a setting they had at the store with side diamonds and engrave the family names on the inside of the band. I also had the ring appraised.

My husband and I special ordered his wedding ring in 7/09 at the Easton location. In 9/09 I received a call stating the ring was ready to be picked up. When my husband and I went to the store to pick it up, the woman at the store spent about 20 minutes looking for it, to no avail. She finally figured out it was not there and that the ring had been sent to the Sawmill location. She said we could go to Sawmill to pick it up. I didn't think that was much of a solution, as we live in Gahanna. I had to tell her they needed to have the ring delivered to Easton, because it was their mistake to have sent it to the wrong store and I was not going to drive across town to get it. A couple of days later we got a call stating the ring had arrived at the Easton location. By this time, it was pretty close to our wedding date. We returned to the Easton location only to see that the ring they had was not the ring we ordered. We had special ordered a palladium band with a certain type of finish, as my husband did not want a "shiny" band. The ring they tried to give us was a palladium band but it was very shiny. They didn't even acknowledge the mistake - my husband and I had to point it out to them. They told us they could order another one, but it would take several weeks. We didn't have that amount of time because our wedding was about two weeks away by that time. They wound up using a machine to make the ring look less shiny, but now, five months later, the ring is completely scratched up. We will not be shopping at the Diamond Cellar ever again.

A necklace I had purchased in Belize had broken and I did not want to get rid of it. The style of necklace is nothing like what they sell at Diamond Cellar, but we thought we'd at least try stopping by there to see if they could fix it. They quoted us a price and gave us a date to expect it to be ready and said they should be able to fix it. It's fixed, perfectly, and I think it might even be in better quality than when I first bought it! Unfortunately, since it wasn't a very expensive piece of jewelry, the cost of repair was right around the cost to purchase it in the first place, but since the memories of a wonderful vacation are attached to it, it was worth it to get it fixed. Staff was very helpful in fixing something that was not purchased there-they've earned my business, I would gladly go back there again.

They did the repair in the week they said it would take, charged exactly what they quoted and were very pleasant about the entire process. Although they do not sell this brand of watch any more, they told me that they can still send it back to the factory for any needed extensive repairs or can do in house the small repairs as mentioned. I shall certainly go back there when my watch needs further attention, such as battery replacement.
Description of Work: The Diamond Cellar repaired the bracelet on my stainless steel Movado watch, a brand which they no longer sell. They fixed the watch bracelet for the quoted price, plus they polished off a small scratch on the crystal, something I didn't ask for, but which I appreciated their doing.

We had an engagement ring made for us by another jewelery company, but the ring was never sized correctly. After being told by them that there was nothing they could do to get my ring to stop spinning around my finger, we went to The Diamond Cellar. They looked at the ring and the shape of my finger and proposed a solution. I left the ring with them to fix. A few days later they called to say that there was an issue with how the stone was set that they discovered as they were working on it. They fixed the issue at a reasonable price and they successfully sized my ring. It no longer spins! When I got it back, it looked and fit better than when I first go it.

ORIGINALLY WENT JUST TO REPLACE BATTERY BECAUSE THEY ARE ONE OF THE FEW WHO REPLACED SWISS ARMY BATTERIES. SALESMAN SUGGESTED FOR SOME EXTRA COST HAVING IT WATER SAFETY TESTED AS IT IS AN UNDER WATER WATCH. WELL WORTH THE FEW EXTRA DOLLARS AS I DID NOT BEFORE AND IT ENDED UP GETTING MOISTURE IN AND RUINING MY WATCH. THE PREVIOUS PLACE I WENT DID NOT EVEN SUGGEST IT. WILL GO BACK TO DIAMOND CELLAR. MY ONLY SMALL COMPLAINT WAS THAT HE TOLD ME THEY WOULD CALL WHEN DONE (ABOUT THREE DAYS). THEY NEVER DID.
