Generally, this project went well and the quality of the workmanship was excellent. Our project consisted of removing a drop ceiling and lighting and replacing it with a drywall ceiling and improved lighting. Some of the wood trim was also replaced. Crew members introduced themselves on the first day. They were polite and well-mannered and got along well with each other. They worked very hard and diligently while they were here and would always spend the last part of their day cleaning up. The crew also cooperated in moving some larger items that we were unable to move from our basement to our 1st floor. These items were also taken back down once the project was completed. Other larger items remained in the basement and they worked around them. Due to the nature of the work, a significant amount of dust was generated from sanding of the joint compound, however, this was to be expected. The furniture that remained in the basement was covered with plastic while they worked, but this did not fully prevent the dust from settling on the furniture. Despite the cleaning that they performed, there was still some fine dust that we will need to clean ourselves. I am not faulting for them for this as this is just the nature of the work that was performed. The quality of their workmanship was excellent. In addition to the lighting and drywall, we had some door trim that needed replacement. The color matching of the stain was outstanding and the new trim is a huge improvement over the prior trim. The quoted price for this project was competitive with other bids that I had received. The quoted price did not increase due to any unforeseen issues. The original timeline for the project was that it was to be completed in eight days, however, it did end up taking twelve days to complete. This was OK with me since I am more interested in getting the work done in a quality manner, so the extra time that was needed was well worth it, in my opinion. Even though the remodel was in the basement, our garage was being used as a temporary workshop and storage facility while they were here, so we lost the use of our garage for parking our vehicles for the duration of the project. The garage was also cleaned as part of their daily routine. The only real "oops" in the project was that one of our security system sensors in the basement was removed and then misplaced. Doug Danzig reduced the price of the work to reimburse us for the cost of replacing the misplaced sensor. I have not included any photos since we are going to need to do some further cleaning and painting ourselves before we consider the basement to be finished. Overall, I would highly recommend this company for your remodeling needs.

One thing I should point out about the workmanship is that one night there was water all over the kitchen floor. When I opened the cabinet under the sink I found an entire box of dish washing pods floating in the water. I had to have another plumber come out due to the pipes being only barely connected. I also had to have a water damage company come out which cost me a lot of money and took three days to dry out my kitchen. So, you can see it has been one thing after the other. The handles they installed on my cabinets were too big. They also advised me not to use the spice rack they installed stating they would be back to complete the installation. They never returned or called me back in over two years. I called him at least forty or fifty times over a six to nine month period and they never returned my calls. I do not recommend this company.

Danzig did a terrific job planning, installing and finishing our kitchen. They were very easy to work with and responded well to our questions and concerns. Overall we were well pleased with the results and looks of the finished project. We were, however, disappointed by some problems with the kitchen sink after completion of the project. One of the water lines disconnected flooding the kitchen and basement, the garbage disposal fell off, the sink was not secured properly and collapsed and the water spray nozzle wasn't aligned correctly. They responded well to the flood problem and replaced the cork flooring and repaired the damage in the basement. We also had a problem with the refrigerator's ice maker that was purchased from their vendor Jack's Appliance. We had to replace the ice maker and a year later had a water leak that warped the wood siding next to the refrigerator and required another service call. We definitely would not recommend KitchenAid to anybody. If we hadn't had the kitchen sink issues we would give Danzig an A+. The refrigerator issue was just a major irritant and not something we could say was Danzig's fault.
Description of Work: Remodeled entire kitchen and replaced all of the appliances with KitchenAid appliances purchased from Jack's Appliance .

Description of Work: Total remodel of kitchen including flooring, lighting, maple cabinets, marble backsplash, drywall on walls and ceilings, granite countertops, work island seating 4, appliances, window and door. Project had some snags but they always addressed the issues. Very satisfied with end product. Project took an extra month to complete but half of that was due to issues uncovered during demolition. The main workers assigned to our project were punctual and very good. They cleaned up after each days work and tried to keep the rest of the house as clean as possible. Would recommend this contractor to friends and family.

We had discussions with one of the major Columbus remodeling companies for a major redo of our master bathroom. The price that we received for the remodeling was much higher than what we had budgeted for and consequently we sought some other contractors. We contacted several contractors who came out and looked at the job but didn’t follow up with plans or price quotes. We then received a recommendation from a bathroom shower supplier who recommended we talk with Danzig Construction. It turned out to be a great recommendation. When we called Danzig, Mike Bullock , their design consultant, came out immediately and met with us to discuss the potential remodeling. We had originally included in our design a stand alone tub and expanded shower. Mike explored with us what we really wanted in our bathroom remodeling. After some probing by Michael, we came to the conclusion that we didn’t really need a tub as we had a tub in another part of the house. Danzig provided us with their license, workers compensation and liability insurance and a list of homeowners with phone numbers and addresses we could contact for their experience with Danzig. We contacted three of them and got glowing reports. Danzig came back with an attractive and usable design and detailed cost estimates. We worked with them on finalizing the design and then signed the contract. Mike Bullock immediately set up a meeting with us. He then drove us around using his own car to several suppliers, including a tile supplier, bathroom fixture supplier, bathroom shower supplier, window supplier, and cabinet and granite supplier so we could start the process of picking out the product we needed for the remodeling. During this phase with Mike, he was always positive in seeking solutions to what we needed. As an example, because our master bathroom backs up to a wooded area we wanted to be available to view the woods but still have privacy. Mike came up with a innovative solution using glazed bottom half double hung windows while having the top half clear glass. Mike came up with this solution, which worked perfectly for us, by researching potential solutions with window suppliers. We never felt pressure into making a quick decision. An example of how well this Company worked with us was with floor tiles. We had originally picked out some tile with Mike at a tile floor. When we brought some of the tile home and laid some on the floor, we found that the tile clashed with the existing granite. Doug Danzig suggested an alternative tile supplier where we found some tile that worked for us. The tile was less expensive than what was included in the original contract and Doug Danzig credited us the difference. We ran into another problem with matching the cabinets. We provided the cabinet maker with a door so he could duplicate the color on the new cabinets that were being ordered. When they came out with the cabinet doors, the color did not match. Doug immediately worked with the cabinet supplier who subsequently came back with cabinets that matched. Again an example of how Doug and Mike work to ensure we were happy with the end result. Another amazing thing --when they said they would start at 8:30 and work till four, they were there at 8:30 and they worked non stop. They laid down floor rugs to ensure damage was not done to the floor and removed them everyday. The workmen were clean, courteous and friendly. They made several suggestions that resulted in improvements to the final product. In summary, 1. We received a fair price on the job 2. We worked with a contractor who was innovative and creative with solutions and 3. Had a great crew that were dependable, on time and helpful and 4. Resulted in an end product that we are very happy with. We would give this contractor a gold star and would recommend them to anyone.

I like him very much and really liked the people we worked with. He did a variety of projects at our house. As he finished one project we would ask him if he could do another so it turned into an 18 month project. I will use him again in our project.
Description of Work: I used Danzig Construction to build a bathroom in my basement and a laundry room. The owner, Doug Danzig, also put in a skylight, two windows and replaced the plumbing in our house.

WHAT IMPRESSED US THE MOST WAS HIS PUNCTUALITY. HE SHOWED UP AT 7 IN THE MORNING SO WE COULD SHOW HIM WHAT NEEDED TO BE DONE BEFORE WE WENT TO WORK. SINCE HE WORKED WHILE WE WERE NOT HOME HE HAS PROVEN TO BE VERY TRUSTWORTHY.
Description of Work: THEY REPAIRED THE CEILING. WE HAD A WATER LEAK FROM THE BATHROOM ABOVE. THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE DRYWALL AND PAINT. THEN THEY ALSO INSTALLED A CERAMIC TILE FLOOR IN THE BATHROOM. THEY ALSO FIXED A SMALL AREA OF DRYWALL UNDER THE KITCHEN SINK.
