The roofing material is good quality and attractive. However, many nails were left on the ground. We had to replace a mower tire and repair a car tire and continued to find nails for a long time. Also, the contractor had to repair the flashing following a storm. Now, as of 9/2/19 we have hail damage to the roof and siding. We contacted American Dream to learn what warranties might apply, but had no desire use them again. Since our call they have hounded us in an attempt to get an inside track on talking with our insurance adjustor. Advise avoiding this company completely!

[Member Name Removed], we sincerely apologize for any debris leftover after the build. There are thousands of nails that are used in a roof and we apologize our crews failed to properly clean up. Our Teams are equipped to assist homeowners in this situation as it occurs. We do provide a lifetime workmanship warranty on our projects, but unfortunately, new damage to the roof that is caused by a new hail storm is not covered in our warranty or any in the industry that we are aware of. If our team was aware of this, they were potentially following up to get details on moving forward with a new project. A member of our team will follow up with you regarding this.

Very disappointed in this company so far. They have no communication and i have been having issues with no resolution. Maybe its the man they sent to my house to correspond that is the issue but he refuses to give me any answers and i cant seem to get anyone from corporate to call me back. Still waiting to hear back and becoming very annoyed. No one is giving me a straight answer and they keep walking on me as if i do not matter. I am starting to search for another roofing company that wants and appreciates my business.

Salesperson (Michael F, I won't give out last name) came to door and asked to do a free roof inspection with no obligation. I confirmed no obligation a second time. Michael said some hail damage to roof and gutters and wanted to call my insurance agent. I told him they were closed. He tried anyway and found out I was correct. He kept calling to ask when adjuster was coming out daily as he wanted to meet with him. I scheduled appointment and told Michael the 2-hour window. He said that wasn't good enough and he needed to know exactly when. I told him I couldn't get any better as I was the 3rd appointment of the day and it would be after the first 2 appointments. He continued calling daily to get better time window and I kept telling him nobody would know more until day of appointment. He kept saying he needed to be there when the adjuster was. I asked why and he told me he was basically acting like a lawyer since insurance companies never agreed to do the work since they didn't want to pay. I cited 2 examples I know of where my insurance company did pay to repair people's roofs. He said it doesn't work this way and I told him I personally know sometimes it does. I did some research and had concerns based on lawsuits, reviews, claims of storm chasers, and not being BBB approved. I told him my concerns and he kept saying how big the company was. I'm not concerned about their size, I'm concerned about their quality of work. He told me I had to go with them since he identified the damage. What happened to no obligation? Don't I have the right to any roofer I may choose? He called the day of the appointment. I told him I had a better time window since the adjuster called after his first appointment. Again he said I need to use his company. He constantly said he needed to meet with the adjuster and wanted his name and number. I refused. I told him I would consider his company, but wanted to hear from the adjuster and do more research. He repeated that I must use his company which I know is incorrect, at which point I told him since he continued arguing with me then I would make it simple and not use his company. Again, I was considering and had told him that but he wanted the guarantee. At this point he said "Why didn't you just be a man and tell me that before?" As I again began to explain that I was considering him but wanted to do more research still, he hung up. This company may do good work for a fair price, but dealing with this individual turned me off using the company for life. I am leery of door-to-door people anyway, and after reading about storm chasers, these salespersons/inspectors faking hail damage, countless negative reviews, a lawsuit in Indiana, but mostly dealing with this representative, I won't use this company in the future. I will use a local company I can trust and who allows me to research. If they have a good product, they shouldn't need to force you into using them.

We were approached by the "storm chaser" method. At first when the adjustor came out and approved while the rep (David) was on site it seemed great, but when we asked for a breakdown/quote we quickly realized something was amiss...as after several requests we were refused and told they do the job for whatever AMOUNT the insurance is paying out for. So since they wouldn't clarify we investigated, realized the initial product pointed out was low grade quality, and they would receive a hefty sum and we would get the short end of it. PLUS if you go online you will find out they are not affliated/rated by BBB with an F score on Google, etc, and rightfully so. The replies from the sales rep to my husband were extremely unprofessional as soon as we questioned anything. The manager from Dublin never responded to my husbands requests through email and phone calls (4×) and my husband had to follow up as well as clarify under no circumstances would we ever, now or in the future, do business with them and to never attempt contacting or "dropping" in on us (as that happened once during an appointment with another contractor). Do your homework and don't allow yourself to get caught up in the excitement of a new roof, etc and get in the way of quality products and good companies that will do right by you. You should at least sit down for an hour or two with each contractor to have everything them explain their services and go over product information and their guarantee. I recomend 3-5 quotes.

The roof replacement process went great the team worked quickly and finished in just one day inspite of a mid day rain shower. The only part of the process that caused concern was the companies billing process. it took multiple calls on my part to get all the payments completed (they randomly forgot to charge my card on the agreed schedule). Other then that it was great.

It did not go well at all. Products were delivered without any notice. I was advised at the time of purchase that after product was delivered someone from the company would come out to verify all product ordered has been delivered. A crew showed up unannounced the following day to do the install. At this point, nobody from the company had verified my product delivery. There was rain in the forecast but crew insisted on doing the install. During the install one of the crew members put their foot through the decking and did not advise us. Instead, the crew tried to cover it up with tar paper hoping we would not notice. My husband was in the garage when it happened and we stopped production until I could reach someone from the company. I could not reach anyone as all phone numbers I had for contacts went straight to voice mail. My husband and I decided not to wait since our entire roof was now exposed and rain was on the way. We made the crew wait while my husband went and picked up new decking. During that time the storms hit and the crew hurried to try to cover our exposed roof decking. Unfortunately, they were not successful as the tarps they used were old and had numerous holes in them. Our garage looked like Niagara Falls for approximately 30 minutes. We suffered water damage to our interior ceilings and to our personal belongings that we had stored in the garage. Luckily, none of my husbands mechanics equipment was damaged. After the install was completed (which took 2 days) we noticed that the flashing had not been installed and the flashing around our chimney was not done properly. We had 2 other roofing companies come inspect our roof to find this out. After numerous attempts to get our ceilings painted to cover the water stains, we gave up dealing with the company and agreed to a credit to our balance (which we have never seen) and we did the painting ourselves. It has been almost 4 months and our issue with the flashing still has not been resolved. We have agreed to have crews come out to replace the flashing and the first time all they did was paint it. The next 2 times appointments were scheduled and the crew never showed or called. We have since been contacted by the company telling us they are done with us because all we do is complain and want money from the company. Supposedly, they have issued me a credit to a balance that I have never seen and do not believe exists. You cannot reach anyone at the local office number because when dialed it sends you directly to their Downers Grove, IL office. The company is refusing to address our personal property damage claim and have told us we need to file a claim with our homeowners insurance. I will not do that since the roof was a claim and my damage is due to their negligence. We have not been able to resolve anything even with the "assistance" of the Better Business Bureau of Illinois. I have no clue what my warranty says or covers because I have not been provided with a copy of it. I honestly believe that IF I have a warranty claim the company will not honor it at all. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE USING THIS COMPANY. If they come to your door, shut the door and do not speak with them.
Description of Work: This provider came and inspected my roof. Told me I had damage and they felt insurance would cover it. They assisted with making the claim. To my surprise, insurance approved it. Their contract states that if insurance approves, you are obligated to use their service so I felt I had no other option.

Why don't you listen to what the home owner is saying?
Description of Work: They came out and they take a look at the roof. Asks if they could do an inspection. I called my insurance company and my insurance company sends an adjuster out. I wasn't sure if my insurance company would cover it or not. Regardless, they come back with shingles for the roof and material for the roof. I told them I was waiting to hear back from the insurance company to see if it would be covered. Instead, they showed up with their truck ready to go. They told me I was responsible for the cost of the materials that they had to do the work when I told them to wait while I wait to hear back from the insurance company.
