In business since 1990, Arnolds Home Improvement is your local roofing and remodeling contractor serving Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. We specialize in roof repair and replacement, bathroom remodeling - including our One-Day Bath remodeling services, siding, windows, and much more.
"We responded to the promotion on TV by JacuzziBathRemodels (JBR) and Arnold's was the contractor who responded to our inquiry. Arnold's representative showed up on time but was never enthusiastic about our needs to have a shower installed, just flat affect. But since they had a good rating with the BBB, we didn't mind until he emailed us the wrong contract the following day. First off, their quote was outrageous: $8,996. This for a walk-in shower without doors. Second, the contract was open-ended, said nothing that was anywhere near to being customer-focused, and included only jargon and stipulations for a roof install: Nothing about our shower. Third, it said nothing about the promotion we responded to from JBR. In other words, nothing was itemized or disclosed in the contract regarding JBR's promotion details, just Arnold's quote. Fourth, when we contacted the representation, who I won't name in this review, was suddenly defensive and responded with callous remarks when we asked for clarification. In fact, when we read some of the contract to this rep, he actually told my 73-year-old mom that she was "nitpicking". He had absolutely no regard for our concerns! (And we were ready to spend this $9,000, in cash and up front, to have the shower installed, despite the Rep's attitude!). But this Rep was nasty and drove our decision to cancel the contract that we already signed when he visited. On top of that, Arnold's cancelation policy was a loaded disclaimer and scare tactic. WOW, I guess Arnold's Home Improvement out of Toledo, Ohio has so much business that $9,000 does not matter to them. My advice for residents who live in northwest Ohio: RUN from Arnold's Home Improvement and don't look back."

Garage door repairs cost $260 on average but can range anywhere from $80 to $675. Factors such as the type of repair needed, the style of your garage door, and the material your door is made of all play a part in the final price tag.
For example, wood garage doors look beautiful but are prone to dents, splitting, and cracks that are difficult to fix. You can expect to spend an average of $200 to $300 to repair your wooden garage door. Fiberglass garage doors are more durable and less expensive to fix, averaging around $100 to $200.
The cost of replacing garage door panels is around $1,200 for the average homeowner. However, depending on a few factors, you could pay as little as $250 or as much as $3,000 or more. Considerations like panel style and the type of garage door you have all factor into what you pay.
While sectional garage doors are common among homeowners, they are often the most expensive to replace, averaging around $700 to $2,400. Tilt-up garage doors, which are the simplest door available, range from $400 to $1,400.
Annual to biannual routine garage door maintenance is vital to extending its life as much as possible. Most importantly, noticing any unusual sounds or movements and taking care of them as soon as possible is one of the best ways to maintain your garage door. Keeping the tracks clear of dirt and debris and lubricating the rollers and other moving parts twice a year will also help to get the most out of your door.
Even though garage doors can last 15 to 30 years, it’s important to recognize the signs of wear and tear or other damage that might cause the need for a repair or replacement. A big sign that your garage door needs repair or replacement is the door not opening and closing correctly, including moving slower than usual. Also, if you notice that your garage door is becoming warped or overly weathered, it’s time to call a professional to discuss your options and tips for buying a new garage door.
Garage doors generally last between 15 to 30 years, depending on many factors. Your location plays an essential role in your garage door’s lifespan—doors exposed to harsh elements like heavy rain or intense heat might not last as long as those installed in a milder climate. How often you use your garage door also factors into its overall lifespan. Generally, standard garage door springs can withstand 20,000 cycles, whereas tension springs typically last between 5,000 and 10,000.
