WILCOX HOME INSPECTION LLC.

I am the seller of a house that the prospective buyers hired Wilcox Home Inspection to inspect on 9/7/21. During the inspection the inspector, Gary, (later I found out was actually the owner of the company) operated a Jacuzzi tub that had not been operated for 20 years and pumped massive quantities of water destroying the entire ceiling of the room below the tub. The inspector under reported the leak describing it as ‘minor’ over the phone. By the time I was able to return to the property several hours later there was still active leaking of sizable amounts of water with 100% destruction of a ceiling of a 15’x12’ room and active dripping onto furniture. I was astounded that any individual would leave the house with an active problem still in progress. His claim was that it was not leaking when he left. Also I was astounded, given the magnitude of the damage that he would leave the property without calling the owner back and discussing the situation in person. Subsequently, Gary(owner)has stated that he and his company is not responsible and has not made any effort to assist with repairs. Generously, this could be described as an unfortunate accident but it was handled so poorly in so many ways that I would recommend any prospective customer give this company a wide berth.
