+ -1 moreMary was on time. I was a a few minutes late but my spouse showed her around the house until I got there. I had warned her by email to expect a mess in the living room, right as she walked in. She refused to sit down the whole hour she was here. She seemed very judgmental about my lifestyle and about how the house got to be in such a mess. She seemed to blame me more than my spouse. It was very upsetting. She did not give us her rates, but just started to leave, and we had to ask her for her rates ourselves. She didn't seem to want to work with me or for us to hire her. She seemed to want me to change and solve all my life's issues, and THEN call her (maybe) and she would help me sort through some piles. I thought organizing were supposed to HELP someone GET THRU their life issues and in the PROCESS clean out the clutter. Overall, she was very judgmental about me and what I've been doing in my life. It seemed to me that she was not very feminist - it's all the woman's fault because women should be the "homemakers." (She didn't use that word, but that's definitely the feeling I got.) I emailed her with my feelings afterward, but she did not respond.
Description of Work: We took a class with Mary, and she offered everyone the option of coming to their home to evaluate how she could help them. We took her up on that offer, and she came to our home for a one-hour free consultation.

+ -1 moreMARY WAS VERY PROMPT, PROFESSIONAL, REASONABLY PRICED AND EXPLAINED WHAT HER COSTS WOULD BE. SHE HELPED WITH RECYCLING ITEMS FOR ME AND SUGGESTED VARIOUS CHARITIES THAT COULD USE MY ITEMS. SHE IS VERY ENERGETIC AND POSITIVE.
Description of Work: MARY DONAVAN HELPED ME WORK ON ORGANIZING AND DE-CLUTTERING MY APARTMENT. SHE STARTED ONE ROOM AT A TIME AND MADE A BIG DIFFERENCE IN COLLECTION OF ITEMS BY QUESTIONING MY REASONS FOR HOLDING ON TO SUCH ITEMS. SHE EDUCATED ME SO I COULD HAVE BETTER HABITS WITH PAPERS. SHE EXAMINED & QUESTIONED MY BEHAVIOR.
