Description of Work: Garth's offers free appraisals once a month. I went to their location for a free appraisal of an antique item that I own.

+ -1 moreI was impressed with the quick response from Garth's and the convenience of the walk-in appraisal (this is like a mini Antiques Roadshow that happens on the last Tuesday of every month)--luckily for me, it was happening just when I needed it. I was impressed by the attitude of the appraisers working that day. Based on my experience at the walk-in, I plan to use Garth's as appraisers when I need a written appraisal in the future.
Description of Work: I needed a quick informal appraisal of some antique jewelry. I sent an inquiry email to Garth's on Sunday night detailing the problem, and received an email back from Amelia Jeffers first thing Monday morning. She suggested that, since time was of the essence, I might want to come to their walk-in appraisal service the next day. I met with their Jewelry Specialist Lisa Darke. Lisa was able to look at the rings, look at the old appraisal I brought in, and give me a verbal update on the value of the jewelry. At no cost. The walk-in appraisal is free.
