Description of Work: Valve on water pipe to washing machine broke and we had to shut the water off to the house. Amanda responded in about an hour and fixed the problem.

Description of Work: The Sump drainage got blocked by tree roots. All the rain water was over flowing and the sump pump was running non-stop. They diagnosed the issue correctly and used a small machine to completely clear off the blocked roots within a short span of time.

Description of Work: The guys that came out were really knowledgeable and nice, however, I asked for an estimate on installing large shower head, 2 toilets, one needed flange repaired, faucet hookups for two bathrooms and a kitchen faucet hookup, fixing a clawfoot bathtub install that a previous plumber did not finish and connecting a steam shower unit that was already installed. I thought the estimate was outrageous. I got another estimate and got the job completed by another company for $1300.

Description of Work: The got the pilot light re-lit in the water heater. The technician was kind and spend a very long time educating my folks about their water heater. He was the consummate professional. He came out the same day. Price was a tad more than other local folks but was well worth it in their confidence in his work and the same day service. They were thrilled!

Description of Work: Main kitchen sink drain was clogged on New Years' Eve. After failing to clear the clog myself with a rented power snake, I contacted Amanda based on recommendations on Angie's list. My phone message was returned promptly and the service technician arrived at the appointed time. Joe was very professional. He removed his boots at the door despite my insistence that was not necessary. He cleared the clog and even corrected some of my shade tree plumbing under the sink. When he was done he wiped the entire kitchen floor even though his work was only under the sink. Before leaving he made some recommendations to prevent the problem in the future. We have followed his advice and have had no problems since. I will definitely call Amanda again when I need a plumber.

Description of Work: They replaced a bathtub drain shoe and overflow (old one was corroded). Also replaced the kitchen faucet (old one was broken). They were very professional, did a great job and were fast!

Description of Work: Called on Sunday and decided to wait til week to save on service call charge. 15 minute fix on leaky tub. 2 minute fix on toilet. Very nice serviceman. Thought $100 service was a little pricey for such a quick fix but I have nothing to compare to. This is the second time I've used them and I will continue to use them for any plumbing needs.

Description of Work: I called in Amanda for my plumbing work which was left unfinished by one unprofessional contractor during our remodeling of bathroom. Plumber from Amanda plumbing showed on time and finished job quickly. As after being bitten by craigslist plumber/contractor I was concerned all plumbers just purposely try to make more money possible, however he completed the job as earliest possible.

Description of Work: Re-attached well cap to pipe. Because of the severe winter, the cap and the well pipe had become separated. The opening becomes a magnet for yellow jackets if not closed properly so I knew I needed to have the work done quickly. The service person arrived in the timeframe promised and did the work quickly. Fortunately, there was a coupon on Angie's List that I was able to take advantage of and that helped a lot. This company is a little expensive but they do good work.

Description of Work: Amanda Plumbing came out to my house a couple of months ago because of a sewer line problem (sewage backing-up into basement level utility room floor drain). They ran a 75 foot sewer machine (heavy motorized snake with cutter on end) down the sewer line. The blockage was cleared. They offered to investigate the line with a camera ($175 additional charge), but I declined at that time hoping the problem was solved. They also explained additional options, including a high pressure water jet that can be inserted into the line (@$350 additional charge -- involves bringing a trailer with equipment and two folks to operate equipment) to clear roots and other debris from the line. About two months later the sewer line clogged again. The owner Doug promptly returned my call and we discussed options, including the camera. He agreed -- without me asking -- to charge a continuation rate (rather than another initial service charge) and also discounted the camera service by $50 due to a full schedule and my agreement to delay appointment until next day. Dan came out the next day; he assessed the problem; he cleared the line with the 75 foot sewer machine. He also ran the camera and obtained some additional information. Options were discussed, and $225 was charged for the services provided (which took around two hours). A sewer problem like this is very aggravating, and I flt like Amanda Plumbing was helping to partner to resolve my problem. They have extra charges that compensate them for additional equipment needs and operation time, but I felt that they adjusted the charges and treated me fairly to take into account the actual circumstances and what was accomplished. Every customer of a service provider hopes for this type of understanding and cooperation when trying to address a problem, and I felt like Amanda Plumbing helped me with my problem. They were also very professional; were careful bringing equipment into my house; and they cleaned-up before leaving. Good owner and good technicians. I was glad to work with them and will use them again -- I felt like the way they treated me ensured a continuing customer relationship.
