Bud Huffman and his crew did an absolutely wonderful job! 

They removed all our deck furniture before roping off and removing the limbs from two large trees hanging over our roof on that part of our home.  They then worked down the back of our home continuing to rope off and carefully removing the limbs off two more large trees hanging over our roof and garage.

Watching the care they took protecting our home while removing the tree and large branches was impressive, but what was more impressive was their clean-up.  The crew blew off our back deck before replacing the deck furniture right where it had been.  The tree and limbs were cut up and removed to the front where the branches were put through their chipper and the larger limbs were placed in a truck.  They then raked up and removed any remaining debris.

Both my husband and I agreed that Bud knows his stuff.  From the time we first met him for an estimate (which was very competitive with the estimates I had received from "tree door-knockers" doing work in the neighborhood) to his explanation of removing the excess 1100 lbs. of weight from throughout the front tree instead of just the low branches as the "door-knockers" were planning to do.

I'm so glad I asked my next door neighbor which tree service company she was going to use to remove seven dead trees from her back yard and she had already gotten a couple of quotes.  That's how we learned of R.L. Huffman and we are very pleased.  Just a little heads up - because they are so good and competitively priced, you may have to wait a while to get the work done, but they are worth the wait.

Bud Huffman returned my call the next day, then came out that afternoon to provide an estimate. He thoroughly explained what he would do and why, and provided a written estimate. He said it would be 2-3 weeks before his crew could do the job depending on weather, and it was just shy of 3 weeks. The work was completed while no one was home. The quality of the work was good, and they cleaned up after themselves, leaving the usable firewood stacked where I requested. The only negative aspect was a slight downgrade for professionalism as he talked about personal family problems. But he is a nice guy, does great work, on schedule, and at a reasonable price. His was the best price of 4 bids received.

We have used these guys several times, for removing entire trees, grinding stumps, trimming trees and removing limbs. They are very efficient and do a terrific job, and their price is extremely reasonable. They clean up afterward and always protect our lawn from their equipment tires using boards to drive equipment across our grass. When they're finished you can hardly tell they were here, except the trees or the limbs are gone. I would call them first whenever I have tree problems. They're the best.

I had 2 very tall trees (approx. 80-feet each) that needed to come down, an ash and a maple. The ash was heavily infested with the emerald ash borer and was dropping large branches on my roof. The maple was rotting at the base.
Bud Huffman gave me a estimate in early May, and performed the service in mid-July. I was not able to witness them working, but was told by my neighbors that they had both trees down, and the wood removed in about 4 hours! My street was lined with trucks and equipment. They were the model of efficiency!
Then, the next day they came out and removed both stumps. On the ash, they also removed the mound of roots around the stump. I now have a level surface where the tree once stood.
I would recommend Huffman tree service very highly!

Very forethright and honest in his evaluation of approach to trees and his scheduling/availability. Very refrshing and green of him to counsel saving trees instread of taking trees down 55 year old maples (which mother wanted to do) and would have been much more lucrative for him. The professionalism from protecting the yard and property, to the actual work, to clean up was stellar.

We have had R.L. Huffman and Sons work on our trees for over 25 years at two different homes. It is a family owned business who provides excellent work. Over the years we have had trees topped, trimmed, removed, and stumped. The estimate is always detailed as to what each piece of work costs and what will be done. Quotes from drive by tree companies will always be lower but the price that we pay for the work provided by true tree experts such as R.L. Huffman and Sons will be a fair price to match the quality of the work.
For this visit Buddy Huffman worked us into his schedule quickly as the weather worked for the particular job at our house on a windy day and he knew we had an upcoming event that might complicate the scheduling. Buddy and his team arrived early in the morning and thinned all three trees. They removed some additional limbs to open up some space on the very large maple and gave it a very clean look at no additional charge. All debris and limbs from the trees were removed and the yard was raked so there was no trace that they had been there other than the cuts made to the trees themselves. The trees are now thinned and nicely shaped.
When calling R.L. Huffman and Sons for routine tree work, be prepared to call well in advance of the time you would like work completed. This company gets quickly booked. We were so glad Buddy was able to work our visit into the weather of that day but we know to plan 5 - 8 weeks out during the busy season. We wouldn't want any other service doing our tree work.

Excellent. They came when they said they would, cut down the tree. and removed all debris.
Very important to me: they didn't damage my fence in any way, which I was concerned about because the tree was so close to it.
I recommend them for good service. I give credit where credit is due.

A very professional expert job trimming the three trees in the front yard with excellent shaping of the trees and removing all debris. The complete tree removal was much better (quicker and efficient) than expected with all debris being removed. The initial estimate was informative and professional. We were given an approximate date they would call the day before the service. We received the call well within stated time frame. The day of service the team arrived with all the necessary equipment at the time stated and completed the job efficiently. The person who came for the estimate was the expert team leader on the job.

Two trees fell, one onto a garage. Since this was an emergency removal, we were worked into the schedule and the tree was professionally removed within two days of the call. Job was reasonably priced and very well done. We plan on using them from now on for our tree removal needs.

We are in a very wooded area and we have had trees removed before and wanted somebody who had insurance and also that was an expert, both of which they were, and they also had one of the best bids for removal of the tree, but what was most important was we wanted someone that had insurance that was up to date and he had no problem giving the insurance certificate. He was also very above par about everything, and they were very quick about taking the tree done. They were also very thorough, and they came with a full manned crew, and they were just very good. We have had many trees taken care of on our property and they were the best. In fact I have the ash trees which are dying here, so I have to have three more ash trees removed, and I was just going to call them today.

The job went well. I have used this company for years. They are punctual and clean up the job site very well. Make appointments early. They are in great demand.

THEY ARE CAREFUL WHILE THEY ARE WORKING. THEY ALSO ARE VERY PUNCTUAL. THEY CLEAN UP ALL OFF THE MESS THAT THEY MAKE. THE CREW IS VERY POLITE AND PLEASANT TO HAVE AROUND.

HE WAS VERY GOOD. HE KNEW WHERE TO TRIM THE TREES. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND HIM. THEY CAME OUT AND GAVE US AN ESTIMATE. HIS CREW WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL, THERE WAS NO MESSING AROUND.
