Sales person was excellent but when they handed the order off to installation, I had the worst experience of my life. The laminate went as scheduled and was of just ok quality, as they did not finish bull nose installation and were tool lazy to take the laminate to the wall in a closet. I had to chase after them a couple of times to get them to finish. Carpeting went in fine because I paid the installer $20 to slow down and do it right. Also, they charged me for feathering the floor which they never did and I suspect never intended to do since the installer hand no compound with him. I am still waiting for a refund. The biggest problem was the ceramic tile. I scheduled it in on a Monday. Monday came and no installer. I called and they had no record of the installation. Rescheduled for the following week. Installation day came and no installer. I called and they said that they could not find the tile. No call to me and they really did not care as they had my money. I finally threated to sue them so they refunded my money for the ceramic. You have to chase them down for everything. Service quality in my opinion is below average. The prices seem good, but they kill you with add-ons that appear way over priced. I rehab houses and I won't ever use them again no matter how much less money they appear to be.
Description of Work: I dealt with the location in Dayton. I bought all the floor covering for a small house, carpet, laminate and ceramic for a bath.

Overall the experience was a nightmare. I will NEVER go to Rite Rug again. I will also be sure to share my experience with others that may think about going there. By statements made on Angies list from other customers that used Rite Rug, it sounds like it is truely a gamble whether or not you get good instalation.
Description of Work: No problems picking out the carpet in the store. Had the instalation date set up. I took the day off to be there for instalation The installer had my carpet hanging half way out of his van with no plastic or any kind of covering over it to protect it from the road. The carpet was almost touching the driveway, that it how much it was hanging out. The installer also spoke very little english so when I asked about it he had no idea of what I was saying. He just smiled a lot and shook his head yes. I finally talked to someone at the store to have a different rug delivered, (one that didn't have road dust and dirt) and requested to have an installer that spoke english so I would be able to communicate with him if necassary. After a couple of weeks, I took off another day of work and a different installer came. This time there was no carpet in the van. He spoke better english but was under the assumption that the carpet was at my house already. So, I got on the phone with the main office and they really didn't know what was going on and wanted to know were the carpet was. I told them they may want to check the previous installers house. Maybe it went with his furniture. I told them that I wanted a new one anyway because I ordered it new, which would mean no road dirt and dust since the previous carpet was hanging out of the van so much it practically touch the road. I set up another instalation and 2 guys came. Both spoke english. Instalation seemed ok until after they left I noticed that there was an area leading up to my hardwood floors that had no padding under it. It was very noticable in certain lighting and of couse if you stepped on it. Set up a time to have that repaired.

TERRIBLE. I initially wanted to purchase ceramic tile for the kitchen, but Tim at the Rite Rug store recommended laminate which looks a lot like tile but is easier to clean and less expensive. I picked out the one that I liked, and stressed to Tim that I needed everything completed ASAP because I wanted to have the floor finished before moving in. He recommended that I leave the current hardwood floor in the kitchen- he said the laminate would just go on top of that. Another contractor that I had installing hardwood floors in the living room and dining room said that he would take it out for me, and that he thought it would be better to remove the old hardwood because it was in bad condition and was not level. But since Tim at Rite Rug said to leave it, I did. The guys who Rite Rug sent to install the tile were awful. I was not home, but had another friend at the house doing some work on other areas. The installer broke a lot of my tiles because he was getting irritated that he was having a lot of problems installing the floor. He called me and said there was a problem with a weak spot in my floor which would completely invalidate any guarantee on the quality of the work that was done, and it was up to me if I wanted to cancel at that point. Since I had to move in soon, I didn't want to cancel- I didn't really know what else to do. He apparently continued to have problems and got so mad that he threw some of the tiles at my kitchen wall and damaged the drywall that had just been installed in that area. He also urinated in my garage and smoked in my house and was cursing nonstop. He spent all day and was not finished because he ran out of tile, since he had broken so much. I obviously did not want that person back in my house. I went to Rite Rug and complained. They said they would get a more experienced installer out ASAP. They had someone scheduled to come a week later, but they ended up having to reschedule that. When the guy finally came back, he did what he could but basically said that it had not been done properly to begin with and that my floor underneath was not level. That was going to continue to be a problem. I have called and spoken with so many different people at this point. I am now waiting to have a visit from the manager from the corporate office who will come to my house in 2 weeks. He was apparently unavailable until that time. I will hopefully be able to get them to do something to get my floor straightened out. No matter how they resolve this, I would not recommend this company to anybody. Their installation team is separate from the store, and the store apparently has very little control over who comes to the jobs and how they schedule it. If I could go back in time, I would love to just go somewhere else. I could have gone anywhere else and probably paid less and got better service. I paid $2800 to carpet 2 very small bedrooms and have laminate floor put in a very small kitchen.
Description of Work: I purchased laminate flooring for my kitchen and carpet for the bathroom, and paid for the installation of both. The carpet installation was no problem. The laminate flooring was a nightmare, and we are still in the process of trying to work it out. The laminate floor keeps coming up at the seams and it has now been nearly 2 months that this has been going on.

I had a great experience with the Beavercreek Rite Rug from start to finish. Jason, my salesman, was knowledgeable and worked to find me carpet in the price range I had established -- absolutely no pressure to purchase something out of my price range. Bought carpet on their fall sale and got a tremendous bargain -- under $5 per yard installed with upgraded padding and the aforementioned tear out and take away, this price also included moving the furniture and putting it back. The last time I bought carpet was about 10 years ago and I paid about $10 SF then for less labor and a lower quality carpet. I was able to get a very nice Shaw carpet for the upper level of my tri-level and a no-frills, nice looking Mohawk Berber for the lower level (rec room/basement). Rite Rug stored my carpet for over a month until I could get things ready for the install. The two installers they sent, Chris and Rodney, were clean, professionally dressed, polite. Even got 18 months no interest/no payments.
Description of Work: Tear out and remove old carpet, lay new padding, install new carpet.

This experience was not an all together good one. The sales staff was good, they had many examples of carpet to choose from, but we feel the carpet that was laid, was not the carpet we purchased. The color looked off to us. The rug company would not exchange the carpet either. They had said we got what we paid for and that was that. We still don't think we got the carpet we ordered. The installers were OK, but kind of gruff. The carpet does look good and it feels nice to the touch.
Description of Work: We purchased 921 square feet of carpet from Rite Rug Company and also had them install it.
