On 12 October we ordered a vent-free gas fireplace with an associated contract. I deposited 50% of the total cost, which included all products (oak surround, background, gas logs, delivery, installation and a remote control). While in the store, we selected the type of surround, and the salesperson, with whom we received a previous quote and biz card, indicated that the store owner would call to visit our home to select the type of fireplace logs. Approximately 1 hour later, I received a call on my cell phone, indicating that the salesperson made a $500 mistake and needed to charge my account for the difference. He asked me to send him the quote from a competitor to compare. When I returned home, I re-read the contract, and determined that we had an agreement and Patio & Hearth needed to fulfill the order as stipulated. After multiple e-mails, the salesperson and then, the owner, attempted to re-write the order to a cheaper surround and log set to offset the $500 error, which, in mind, is a breach of contract. After a heated telephone conversation, the owner, noting that he's an attorney, said that the contract was too ambiguous and I didn't have a leg to stand on. So much for good faith....I told him that I would never purchase anything from a company that operates the way that his does. This information is based upon my experience and my opinions of the facts as I experienced them.

THEY HAVE BEEN HERE THREE TIMES NOW, AND EACH TIME WE HAVE HAD NO SATISFACTION. THE LAST TIME THEY CAME OUT, IT STILL DID NOT FIT RIGHT, AS IT BUCKLES. THEY HAVE NOT REFUNDED OUR MONEY FOR ANY OF THIS, AND THE OWNER HAS NOT RETURNED OUR CALL.
Description of Work: THEY WERE TO REPLACE THE SLINGS ON OUR PATIO CHAIRS.
