Technician arrived on time. Checked circuit. Assessed problem as loose wires on dryer outlet. Supposedly corrected. That night dryer triggered circuit breaker again multiple times even on low heat. Called company, same technician returned. Owner (a licensed professional engineer in the State of Ohio) believed circuit breaker was worn out from multiple trips. Contractor's website even states breakers can wear out from overuse. Technician disagreed. Breaker did not trip while technician was on site. Technician recommended if owner believed that to be the problem he could replace it himself (Mr. Electric cost $200). One bit of good advice. Owner purchased $40 AC clamp meter. Checked current draw. Determined max draw at 24.5 Amps, well within 30 Amp breaker capability. Owner assessed breaker as defective. Owner bought identical breaker at Home Depot for $9.87 and replaced. To this day breaker has not tripped one time. Owner cost to solve about $50. Mr. Electric cost prior almost $200 with no solution. Case Closed

This company answers the phone as Kettering Electric/ Mr. Electric. I left a message twice and never received a call back. Perhaps Kettering Electric was just acquired by Mr. Electric and they're in a transitional period. I don't know, but it was disappointing that they didn't return my call requesting service.

Awful. I keep finding things that were done wrong. So far, I found the breaker box mislabelled, which caused a huge spark and potentially very dangerous situation for the guy installing my new dishwasher. I turned off the breaker labeled for the dishwasher only it wasn't correct and the power remained on. Then when I had my siding re-done, the back porch light switch wouldn't work. I called Mr. Electric out and the guy said it hadn't been done right the first time. More recently, my breaker box kept sparking and shutting off a certain breaker. I called another electrician this time and they said the wiring was installed improperly and unsafely to the garage. There was also a hot wire exposed in my basement, and the new breaker box is about to fall off the wall because it was affixed to drywall only, nothing stable. I will never recommend this company to anybody. I don't trust their work, and the fixes are going to run me $1000+
Description of Work: I asked for a complete overhaul of my wiring: remove all the old knob and tube wiring and replace with new wiring and circuitry, new and larger breaker box.

At first, I am very impressed with the service. Mr. Electric called me back right away after my initial request. On Oct 10th, 30 min. before my technician arrives, I get an email telling me my technician, Dave is on his way and I get a photo of what my technician looks like. Nice touch and added safety feature! Dave arrives on time and is very polite and uses booties to enter my home. Within 15 min. after the survey, I get an estimate on his iPad and he emails me the estimate immediately. I am told the work will take 1 and 1/2days to complete. I schedule it for the 24th and 25th and take time off from work for those 2 days. They tell me I need to contact Watson's Pool and Spa for a bonding kit. I call Watson's and their service department tells me they can't order any until spring. I call Mr. Electric and Joe says he knows the parts person at Watson's and he'll talk to him. Joe calls me back and says Watson's is ordering the Bonding kit and it will be delivered to them Monday, in time for the installation. Again, I am very impressed with the service of this company. On Monday Oct 24th, Dave starts the work. I ask him about the Bonding kit and he knows nothing about what Joe told me. On Tuesday the 25th, Donna calls me to tell me Dave hurt his back and needs to reschedule for tomorrow. I tell her the inspection is tomorrow and she says they will push that back. My daughter is home sick so I need to take the day off anyway, so I tell Donna that tomorrow will work. On Wednesday the 26th, nobody has called me by 8am so I call them and a man named Michael answers saying Donna was going to call me, because Dave's back still hurts. I ask if there is anyone else who can finish the job and they tell me Dave has all the tools for the job in his truck and he lives in (far away town named), so they need to get the tools from him somehow. My husband calls Mr. Electric and explains that I took off from work and the work must be done the following day (Thursday), or Saturday. Donna tells him Dave will call Thursday morning to let me know if he will be doing the work in the morning or afternoon. On Thursday Oct 27th, Dave calls and arrives. I ask him about the Bonding kit and he says they are supposed to bring it to him later today. I ask about the inspection and he doesn't know anything about it. He calls Donna and he tells me it's been scheduled for Monday at lunch. Mike brings over the bonding kit and a triple lock receptacle to finish the work. He finishes the work. The trenching job passes the inspection. Then, Monday is the bonding and final inspection and that doesn't pass inspection. I let Donna know and send her photos of the issues found. They send someone to correct the issues and this time it passes the bonding inspection. Overall, this seems like a good company with some communication and management issues they need to work out.

It was kind of terrible. I took the lowest bid, I shouldn't have done that. Their service was not nice at all. He didn't put it where I asked him to. He placed it down on the bricks, instead of putting it on sort of like the eaves of the house. Then, one of the owners came out, and he put it up on the eaves, but he refused to adjust the LED light. He just flat refused. Sometimes that is what you wind up with when you try to get the cheapest way out. I had called two of them. I should have went with the other one. They were $50 more, but I should have went with them. I had to call another electrician out and he adjusted it for me and that was some $90 besides some $300 that I paid Mr Electric. Their pricing was cheaper, but it didn't pay off. It was bad for me. They were really, really nice. The girl in the office was superb. She really was nice. She did send another guy out. I think he was the owner of the place. She did respond and send him out here, but for some reason, he didn't do too well.
Description of Work: I had them move an LED light from the back, down the side, closer to the front of the house.

He did a really good job. He was really nice and came on time, right when he said he would. He explained what he had to do. I think that he needed an extra hand up there but there was no way for him to know that he needed another person until he was in there. I had to help him by holding a light fixture from the inside for just a little while so he could finish it because there was no other person with him. But when I booked the job I did not know that he will have to do that and so I did not convey that to him. So I think that was more my fault than his. It was a little price for the work that was done.
Description of Work: I used the services of Mr. Electric Montgomery and Greene Counties. He came up and climb in my tiny little attic. He replaced and re-did a bunch of linings and hooked up a bathroom fan.

We had a tech come out to diagnose several problems. While he did fix the first few, the third stumped him and he said he would get back in touch. We never heard back. We had another tech come out (Jeff) who had been there before and he not only fixed this continuing issue, but also fixed another problem we had been facing and for which we had received a huge estimate, for nothing. Jeff cared enough to really help us out in a tough financial time. Can't say enough about this electrician. It's a fair business, if a bit on the pricey side but if you are thinking about using them for several services, sign up for service plan and it will save you money!!

My son and I noticed an electric "burn" smell in his room and we couldn't place it. However, as soon as we saw the sparks, we threw the breaker and unscrewed the light plate, and discovered that the connections had literally burned/melted. We called several electricians, but none of them could get to us for at least four days -- a serious inconvenience as that circuit held not only all the electric for my son's room, but also the electric for the pump (we have a well). We called late in the afternoon and Mr. Electric was able to be here the next morning. The electrician was courteous, professional, and informative. After he replaced the switches, he replaced the light to make sure the second switch was working, a ceiling light that we thought was long dead. After he finished, he also checked the other light switches in the basement to make sure they were safe.

This company is super professional. I will never use anyone else except Mr. Electric for our electrical needs. The company was on time, used protective covering on shoes, gave us a fair price - worked efficiently and conducted themselves in a professional manner. The cost of an all day job was not unreasonable. Also, there was follow up from the company. I only wish that everyone who performed a service would represent and do the great job that this company has done. Most importantly, we feel our home is safe regarding the job that they have performed.
