Howard's lawn care and snow removal

Description of Work: Mason Howard was hired as a sub for Lawn Love to mow land purchased in Yellow Springs, OH. The grass was too high to mow by the time closed on property. Howard's Lawn Care said they had the equipment to bush hog it for me to get it in shape to mow regularly. He gave me a quote of $450 to bush hog on 6/8/2017. He said the work would be completed first thing on Saturday, 6/17/2017. He cashed my check and did not do the work 6/17/2017. When I questioned him, he said his tractor broke down and he would do it the next day, Sunday, 6/18/2017. I confirmed I would drive out before dinner on Sunday. He apologized for the inconvenience and said that would work. I drove an hour each way to see that the work was not done. He said he had a family emergency with his grandmother and that he would be back in town on Wednesday. He would have the property taken care of Thursday. He said he would call or text so that I know it is getting done. It is now Saturday, 6/24/17, and no response and no service since I asked on Thursday if it was done because I had not heard from him. He cashed my check two weeks ago, and no service and now no response.
