First of all, they were NEVER on time if they even showed up!! At least 7 times they were a no call/no show. We hired them to drywall a small bathroom. The crew they send out is very foul mouthed and unprofessional. The Owner, Mike, will show up every now and then. He’s a fast talker and has no issue talking over you like he is doing you a favor. One of the guys he kept sending out (Greg) told us he has no idea how to do drywall. This guy was 5’2 and Mike didn’t even provide him a ladder or stool to use. However, he was the hardest worker of the bunch and the most respectful. His employee Leroy was very fast talking, rude, belligerent and disrespectful. He spent way too long talking about how good of a drywaller he was to even get anything done. He would be 5 hours late and stay 45 minutes to get a tiny bit of crappy work done. I finally kicked him out of my house after he cussed at me because I asked him if they planned to finish texturing a wall they tore up in my hallway. Any time you try to communicate with the owner, Mike, he will say things like “they are on their way”, “oh I thought they were done”, “oh they got stuck at the dump but are on their way” only to have them show up 4 hours later. They are all so unprofessional they spend the entire time talking about each other. My favorite was when Mike said he was going to fire Leroy but I think Leroy wanted to fire Mike and Greg ended up quitting over the phone while he was leaving my house one night saying “you’re a liar, you haven’t paid me, F you” the drama with these people goes on for days. They give you a “good” quote. Let’s say you are better off paying an expensive company because almost 2 months later we are having to redo all of their work ourselves. We paid them half of the original quote up front. They raised the price and they got paid for the rest of what they asked for. Then Mike said he was emailing a receipt and never did. STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS!

Well..let me say first I ONLY joined angies list to let other people know of our experience. First of all we paid to have the walls skimmed twice and the first time around they only did it once and only in spots. They do not deliver what you pay for. What they did was horrible. We called them back again , and still the work was horrible. The BBB has a A plus rating on them. How in the world they got that rating I have no idea. My husband spent hours in the kitchen trying to straighten out the mess they left us in. Finally we complained to who had told us of them. They in turn called the owner, Mike Mitchell, and he called and came out to look for himself. You have to remember this is after they had come back a couple times to correct the bad places and my husband had spent hours working on it , too. He saw lots of places where they should have done a better job and said they would be back to correct them. Well..after almost 3 weeks( no show or no call) we called Mike Mitchell back on the phone and he didn't even remember being out here to look at the work. So..he said he would send them out again. They came back and redid it again. First I need tell you they use no ladder, only stand on the floor and just slap it on whatever way it lands. They definitely aren't painters either. They put on such a thin coat we could see streaks of the plaster they put on right through the paint. The walls were gritty wherever you touched it. My husband painted the kitchen again and that helped a lot. They destroyed my oak baseboards with paint and plaster on them. Now I need to take them off myself and try to sand the paint off of them or get someone else in to replace the oak baseboards. I did take pictures but not at the beginning when we started calling them back. I do have some from about half way through though. Were the guys nice, yes they were and very personable. They are called constantly on the phone or one of the guys would go out and buy things for the next job when they should have been doing a better job here. Would I have them again...NO...not even if it was free. A job that was suppose to take a couple hours, a couple days actually tied up our kitchen for 7 weeks. The new backsplash had to be delayed until we could get it presentable. The work they did was actually seen by the saleman of the countertop company that was going to replace the countertop also. Their oppionion was the same as ours. If you hear of this company..RUN.....We have been in our house 46 years and have always had things done by outside people. I have to say this was the WORST company we have dealt with and they definitely aren't cheap.
Description of Work: We removed the wallpaper from the kitchen walls ourselves. They gave us an estimate to skim the walls with plaster twice , paint the ceiling which they provided the paint . We also paid to have walls painted and we provided the good quality paint. This was suppose to take a couple hours one day and they would come back the second day for another couple hours or as needed to finish the job.

Jimmie promptly came out a couple days later looked over the job, answered all my questions, and gave me a good, firm quote and time frame it would take to complete. They Tuesday worked all day and came back touched up, sanded and finished up on Wednesday and I was very happy with the job they did. I would definitely recommend them for drywall projects.
Description of Work: I called Drywall Wizard to finish a remodel project I had started. I tore out a wall between a bedroom and a bathroom and gutted a small master bathroom. I installed the new rough in construction and shower surround. I needed Drywall Wizard to give me an estimate on how much it would cost to finish the project. Jimmie promptly came out a couple days later looked over the job, answered all my questions, and gave me a good, firm quote and time frame it would take to complete. What stood out the most were the friendliness and their availability. I called them on a Tuesday and they were out there on Thursday and started working. It was a concise job and they were able to fit me in. They had told me that it would take four days and it actually took five, but they didn't charge me any extra despite my adding a couple of things to their list. I would just caution people that the drywall process is a messy process and he is definitely messy, but they did clean up afterward.
Description of Work: I used Drywall Wizard for a remodel. They dry walled three rooms, did the finish work and touched up several other places around the house.

Overall our experience with them was far less than favorable. I would steer clear of this company.
Description of Work: We had drywall wizard come and close in our garage to a rec-room. The drywall and small frame out took 6 weeks to complete and even after that it looks like crap! The drywall is not finished well. The windows were placed at an angle and had to be removed and re-set. The siding was placed on with finish nails barely in the foam insulation, with a slight pull all is falling off and has to all be replaced. We spent all this money and now get to pay it all agin...plus material!

Total disaster. Contractor estimated a five day job (seven to be safe). Drywall Wizard then subcontracted out the entire job to another firm. The workers arrived some days, not on others. For the days they did work, start and finish times varied widely. After a week, the subcontractors began to express concern over not being paid. Claims of violence and threatened violence were alledged between the prime and subcontractor. After nearly two weeks, the subcontractors walked off the job with the master bedroom drywalled, mudded and only partially painted. This after I started taking time off from work to 1) ensure the work was being performed and 2) to perform some of the work myself to move the job along. A replacement pair of subcontractors were sent to finish the job and worked only one day before never being seen again. After 19 days of what was promised to be 7 day job with the closet still yet to be mudded , a negotiated settlement was reached. For a slight reduction in money owed, Drywall Wizard agreed to cancel the job. The drywall work was spotty at best. The new window that was installed was clearly the wrong size (too large) and was simply jammed in the opening. Promised work (baffle vents in the rafters) were not installed and not realized until too late (no price adjustment). New insulation added was added at significant mark-up. Numerous calls to the owner, Mr. Marshall, were either not returned or answered with, "I'm really busy". In short, this proved to be a bitter learning experience regarding home improvement contractors. While the estimate did appear to be professional (as did the estimator), with hindsight the quoted price may be high.
Description of Work: Install drywall (a little under 2,000 sq ft) and paint master bedrrom. Finish (drywall, floor and paint) 144 sq ft (by floor size) walk in closet. Work also included the addition of 6 can lights in ceiling. After removal of previous wall covering, some additions of insulation were called for.

An estimator came out, took pics of damage from a beam falling from our living room ceiling. It took two weeks to get the work scheduled. The workers showed up without supplies, and had to come back the next day. I wasn't able to miss two days work, so my daughter was there. They did not speak english. The repairs were not what the estimator and I had agreed on. I contacted the owner (Rick Marshall) with my concerns. I sent him the pictures and the drawings from his estimate. I asked him to come and look at the work. He scheduled an appt with me and my husband the next day. He never showed up. He sent a cleaning lady and some other guy. They both were appalled at the mess the workers had made (drywall dust permeated my carpet). I contacted Mr. Marshall again for an explanation. He said he had vacation plans. I advised him I was not going to pay for this substandard work. His lack of professionalism and use of profanity was deplorable. He threatened to pull his workers off the job and leave my living room in a mess if I continued to complain. I contacted my insurance company to intervene. He was advised to remove his supplies and await contact from the insurance company. He instead sent workers out to collect money. What a mess! I ended up contacting a different drywall company who had to remove all the mess and start over. The ceiling is not what we wanted but at least it is now presentable. I turned Drywall Wizard into the BBB and contacted the State of Ohio Attorney General to try to recoup the moneys paid (deposit).
Description of Work: A ceiling beam had fallen after a storm. I went through the BBB list for a drywall company, as we were new to the area. DON'T trust the BBB, come to find out, Drywall Wizard was not in good standing but the data base was not current. The ceiling was to be repaired without the beam. Where the beam was would be flattened out,the ceiling would be restomped in the same pattern, and our ceiling fan remounted. Instead, the ceiling came to a peak and was uneven, the seams were crooked, the pattern didn't match, there were clumps of putty in my carpet and on my tables, drywall dust was everywhere.

Drywall Wizard started and finished the mudding and sanding in 1 day. Most people know that 3 coats are normally needed to finish drywall. Their work showed that 3 coats should be used. It also showed that their workers have not been trained to do drywall work, and have very little experience. There were literally hundreds of air holes, drag marks from dirt under the blade, unsanded areas, etc. Too much material was applied at the seams, so there is a high spot every 4 feet, where the seams are. On some outside corners, almost an inch thick of excessive mud was left on the walls. Once the drop ceiling frame was installed, it was easy to see how unflat the final result was. Inside corners have no straightness at all. After we complained about the poor workmanship, Drywall Wizard sent out the same crew, and they tried to cover up the poor work, which actually made matters worse. I finally gave up and fixed the walls myself, which took many, many hours. The Drywall Wizard crew assigned to our job only had one person that could speak English, so communicating was very difficult. They obviously had not received any training on how to finish drywalls, I guess they were getting on-the-job training at the expense of the customer. They didn't bring their own tools, and had to borrow our ladders, spotlights, etc. My recommendation, don't even bother getting an estimate from Drywall Wizard, and definately don't hire them. If you do anyway, at least do your homework, and learn about what you should ask for and what you should get. Also, do not sign their acceptance form when they claim to finish the job, even when they try to pressure you to do so. Take your time after they leave to inspect the work, with proper lighting, etc. It is easier to find the mistakes after the surface is primed. Only 4 photos can be attached in Angie's List. The 4 that I attached are typical of Drywall Wizard's workmanship, but I have hundreds more, and the room was only 30' x 20'.
Description of Work: Drywall Wizard was contracted to mud and sand (finish) new drywall that was installed by my contractor.
