Description of Work: Cheryl and John had initially came by our house in the Fall to give an estimate on landscape work prior to selling our house. Of the 4 estimates we got for landscaping at that time, we thought Deal's was among the more reasonable and were impressed by their knowledge and advice. Though we didn't end up doing any landscaping in the Fall, prior to holding an open house one week ago, Deal's agreed to help us out on short notice. They sent a three-person crew from 9am to 4pm for edging, mulching, weeding, and planting some bushes and flowers as well, basically making the yard look presentable for an open house we were holding. We supplied the mulch, shrubs and flowers, so we were just charged for labor. While the cost was a little higher than what we were expecting, given that they were able to come out 2-3 days after we called and they did quality work, we were pleased (especially since the house sold!).

Description of Work: I had a problem area in my front yard. At one time there was an area that had been a parking area, the ground was compacted over culvert pipe with a lot of concrete blocks. I could not get grass to grow so I called and asked for landscaping ideas. The gentleman came out and looked at the area and asked why I just didn't make it back to yard. I had never thought of that, I thought I was stuck with the culvert pipe. He explained that since it was not a permnant driveway the pipe and blocks could be removed and the area graded to match the rest of the yard and either seeded or sod put down. I loved the idea and he gave me a quote and the job got done and it looks great!! You can not tell that it was not always part of the yard! It was a job well done!!

Description of Work: We purchased 2 trees (white pines) from Deals and took them home to plant them. When we got them home we found some bag worms on them and I called and left a message . (they had already closed) . We went ahead and planted them because we didn't know when or if they would get back to us. On Monday they called me back and said they would have someone come out to look at the trees. And shortly after they did. All the bag worms had been removed, but they noticed the trees were planted incorrectly and offered to fix it for free for us. Today they came out and dug deeper holes for us and planted them properly. We were so concerned that we hadn't done it right, and so I am glad they fixed it for us. I never expected that a company would be so quick with their response and so helpful at making sure it was done right. They did this free of charge, I never asked or demanded they fix anything, but they offered. You can tell they care about their name and what people think of them. This was my first experience with Deals and I will most certainly use them in the the future as a first stop for trees and probably shrubs too. One more thing. While most all other places that sell trees were out of stock for the pines, I was happy to see that Deals still carried the pines we were looking for.

+ -1 moreI am absolutely DELIGHTED with the entire experience. Cheryl was great to work with on the design. The woman knows her stuff. There were some things in her original plan for us that we didn't like (I'm not a fan of daylilies, but there was no way she could have known that since I hadn't told her beforehand) and we even did that annoying thing of saying we wanted one thing and then when she put in the plan we decided we didn't like it. She was patient and respectful throughout. Most importantly, she knew when to stand firm to tell us something absolutely wouldn't work in a particular spot no matter how much we might love to have it there. The guys who did the work were phenomenal. They ripped out all the old stuff the first day, put in the new on the second, and my walks surrounding the new landscaping look like they've been power-washed they left the place so clean and tidy. A few years ago, we had estimates from another company to have just the back of our property landscaped. We didn't do the work then because the plans proposed to us were simply not our taste -- and no matter how much we told the company we prefer a simpler style, they couldn't give us what we wanted. They actually kept adding more and raising the price. Deal's actually listened to what we wanted and liked and made it happen. They also do all organic landscaping. Great company. Great people!
Description of Work: They worked with me to develop a plan for landscaping my property, then tore out all of the existing (old and badly maintained) landscaping around the front and back of my house and replaced it. They also put in underground drain hoses from my gutters so water from them will go farther away from my house.

+ -1 moreTheir estimate was quite exact. They did the work in a timely fashion. I was pleased with the work. They were quite punctual and quite friendly. I think they were a little expensive. I think if you contract with a landscaping company to do your yard, you are going to pay. I don’t know of any cheap places to do that. If you want to hire somebody off the street or your friend has a gardener that’s very different. Professional landscaping places are all expensive. I didn’t think it was shocking, I expected to pay a lot.
Description of Work: I had them come out and do a clean up right before the winter. They did some leaf cleaning and cutting back some shrubs, just things like that.

+ -1 moreThey do organic lawn care for us. They do a very good job. They are very reliable. They contact us and remind us of when certain things are due to happen. They give us recommendations but at the same time they warn us about some of them being expensive and also that some may not be absolutely necessary. They just want us to know the options. If we ask them to do something that isn’t in their philosophy they will find someone else who is qualified to do the work for us. They don’t use certain weed control materials as it is toxic stuff. They work with materials that aren’t harmful.
