CJS Heating & Air

Great! Friendly serviceman, replaced filter, checked the system & found no problems, finished & gone in less than an hour (although our experience has been that CJS will take as much time as needed to find & fix problems). We've been very satisfied with our CJS-installed geothermal HVAC -- installed about 10 years ago.

Please forgive the long post, but you need to know this before employeeing these people. I had a horrible experience with CJS heating. I was a club member, so I got biannual checkups on my ac and furnace. Guillermo Rubke came out on 1/27/2020 and told me that there was a problem with my furnace's heat exchanger and it would end up pumping CO into my house. So he turned off the gas and said if I turn it back on, that it could kill everyone in my house. This was scary and the thought that I could have died freaked me out. That day, they sent Gary Reed, a project manager to give an estimate for a furnace replacement. He said itd be $5480 to replace. Thats with the club discount. I told him I'd like to get estimates from others to double check and THANK GOD I did. Albert Heating and air gave me an estimate of $3709 on 1/28/2020. Logan heating and air gave an estimate of $3625 on 1/28/2020. So I called CJS back and asked why theirs was so high. They said they'd redo the estimate. CJS sent out another guy who comes with a number of $3719 on 1/28/2020. After CJS leaves, One Hour Heating and Air came out and double checked to see if I even really needed to replace my furnace. They said no and CJS's original diagnostic findings were misrepresented and false! McAfee also came to confirm that CJS was wrong on 1/28/2020. I'd say it was just a mistake by Guillermo Rubke, but with what Gary Reed tried to do by upcharging me 2000 bucks makes me believe it was planned. I will NEVER go with CJS again, and my suggestion is you dont either. I took my complaint to them and they gave me my monthly payments back for their service. But I lost a days work, bought space heaters, and stressed for awhile. Not worth the trouble. I should note CJS's excuses to be fair to both sides: Guillermo made a human error according to them and Gary was new and a former car salesman, so he "didnt know" it cost 3700 and not 5488 to replace a furnace. They offered to have a second technician to come out to check the safety of the furnace but I denied it because I feared they'd mess with the heater to purposely break it to "prove" themselves right.

CJS arrived early w/i the 2 hour window and was here for app. 2+ hours, ran several tests, checked all the equipment both in the house and outside and made a recommendation that the problem might be due to a wrong size air filter. Bill, CJS left here almost 2 hrs. ago and so far, so good! I do know that if the "growl" comes back, CJS will come back.

Great, Andy was prepared for a quick fix (replace thermostat), but I elected to change it myself. He gave me some tips that will certainly help though.

Note: No charge for check up - part of CJS Veteran Plan and I provided filter. This is my second visit from CJS under this plan - and both times their Service Techs have been outstanding. Brooke was awesome! She was very professional and honest. She quickly diagnosed the problem with the unit and offered several solutions. I rarely leave reviews but I will definitely recommend and use CJS.

It was a simple problem (failed capacitor). It was replaced under warranty. We have used CJS heating and Air for the past 4 years. we have received exemplary service since they replaced our old heat pump with gas furnace and a new air conditioner.

For the most part, it was good. He wasn't provisioned with the right thermostat and needed to go get the right one, but was otherwise prompt, professional and responsive.

Ben of CJS was very efficient and thorough in his check up of my air conditioning unit. He was very timely in his arrival and explained what he was doing and why. I would hire them again and have no problem telling others about their good service.

They were very professional, responsive and thorough. Their estimate was much higher than any of the other quotes I received, but they took the time to do the job well.

The CJS team worked 12 hours in sweltering heat to replace an attic air handler and heat pump. In spite of having to fit "10 lbs of sausage into a 5 lb sack" through the 20"x25" access to the attic and having to troubleshoot electric short with the existing control wires, they got the job done. Our first nite with a 16 SEER unit was exponentially better than our previous nites with a wheezing 10 SEER unit. Great job CJS!

Mike came in support of sales for CJS to help determine whether my old heat pump was fixable. I know a bit about heat pumps and their major components so prior technicians were either too glib with the sales pitch or weren't able to fully convey what they saw as the problem. Mike was more thorough in his inspection and talked with me about possible strategies toward fix or replace. Overall, it was a better experience than the previous two guys.

Installed new unit within 1 long day. Had some problems with new thermostat. Outstanding warranty and service calls. Very quick to respond and come out, service people are wonderful and very helpful.

I rated price a D not for the service call, but the replacement fan motor price. Service performed by Mike was excellent, really appreciated his professionalism and honesty. The price for the fan motor, WOW,! Not something in Mike’s control though, I will shop around more when replacing the HVAC unit next year.

Bill Washburn performed all tasks with obvious years of experience and kept good customer service in mind the entire visit.

I noticed my house was not cool, and it was hot outside. I called in the morning and they were able to come that afternoon. Danny quickly found the problem and did the annual service as well. Highly recommend.
