This is the 2nd time I've used CJS and each time they showed up right on time. Time given 2-4PM and they were there at 2. Eric was a great technician. Immediately diagnosed problems and walked through the "straightforward pricing guide". I see no reason to ever go with another HVAC company.

Talk about impressive!!! We had been away from home since early morning, When we came home the thermostat read 63 degrees. We keep our thermostat set for 70. As the temperature plummeted this afternoon, it became obvious that our gas furnace wasn't working properly. With the forecast calling for 10 degree low overnight. We needed someone FAST!. We called CJ's HVAC about 3:30 PM. We were given at appointment for 5 PM to 7 PM. About 4:30, James, from CJ's showed up. He was very professional!!! He was unable to diagnoses the problem in a matter of minutes. We were so pleased that we signed up for a service plan. The price was just a bit higher than we would have liked BUT...we're so pleased with the service that it's not as important.
Description of Work: Reconnected a loose wire, cleaned the combustion area and ran diagnostics.

It was quite simple scheduling the appointment. They arrived about one hour late. They diagnosed the issue, but I haven’t had the repair completed yet. The service was fine.

I don’t recall any problems with scheduling. When they came out for the initial visit in July, I felt that they did not do everything that was promised. I called and they came back again in August. They were helpful and there were no problems with getting them to come back out. When they came back, they addressed all of the issues that I had. Both technicians were nice. When the first technician came out, the weather could have been the issue. Also, since our unit is older, he may have been more interested in selling us a new unit instead of servicing our older one. After the second technician came back out, I feel that it was a good experience.

We called their answering service at 6 am on one of the mornings it was ten degrees below zero. Right at 8:00 am they called us and told us a technician would be at our house in 20 minutes. We were very pleased that they were able to come so soon. Josh arrived right on time and was very professional and polite. At first he thought we were going to have to replace a $600 part, but after three hours of trying to figure out what the problem was, he found the part was not working because there was just a hose that was pinched. He moved the hose, and the furnace started working again. We are very impressed that this seems to be such an honest company that they did not try to replace anything that did not need replaced. After worrying that we were going to have such an expensive furnace repair, we only had to pay the $89 service fee. We would highly recommend this company, and we will definitely use them again. Thanks Josh!
Description of Work: Our furnace started shutting off on it's own and then coming back on a few hours later, and then one night it just stopped working completely. We called CJS to come inspect it and tell us what was wrong.

A few months prior, a different company told us our heat exchangers were cracked, most likely had carbon monoxide issues and we needed a new furnace ASAP, even though they didn't test for carbon monoxide. Then we forked out some money for several home CO monitors and the alarms never went off, so we called CJS for a second opinion. The CJS service man was very technical and did a first rate job. The CJS guy was honest, not pushy, and communicated well. Plus he had a good sense of humor. Personable. We will definitely hire CJS again and will most likely have them install a new furnace in the next year or two - after we stop paying for 2 college tuitions, simultaneously.
Description of Work: CJS inspected & cleaned our furnace and tested it for carbon monoxide (CO) using a CO sensor device inserted into the furnace. Plus they used a camera/probe to visually inspect the heat exchanger. CJS said the heat exchanger showed some rust and some thinning, but was not cracked, and was operating well within carbon monoxide limits. CJS said it was OK and we could put off getting a new furnace for awhile, even though our furnace is 22 years old.

I was given the timing that a technician would be at my house between 1000 and 1200. At 9:55 I received a call that Josh was at my house and ready to work. I was extremely impressed by the punctuality. If Josh is representative of CJS than this company embodies professionalism and impeccable customer service. Not only was he able to clearly articulate the issue, but he was extremely willing to answer any and all questions I had. The problem was diagnosed and solved within minutes, and all is well with my furnace. I was so impressed by the whole experience, I signed up for a service plan with the company. As a customer I know my HVAC is in good hands with CJS and definitely recommend this company to others.
Description of Work: My furnace was turning on and off and couldn't keep a consistent temperature in the house. I contracted CJS to come do an inspection, cleaning and diagnostic.

Our furnace would not heat to beyond about 65 degrees when we first called (it could get no higher than 62 the day before when the temperature outside was 0 - 9 above zero). Josh performed the above services and concluded that there had been an obstruction in the flue that may have been released during his checking of the piping. A pressure switch had been clicking on and off and it stopped once he got done searching inside and out for the obstruction. Overall, Josh was punctual, professional and personable. He kept me informed as he checked different possibilities. Although a definitive answer was never found for the furnace's inability to hold the proper temperature, the fact that CJS will come back out without charge if it happens again this season gave me peace of mind. I was impressed enough with the service and the technician that I purchased their "silver" maintenance contract. Definitely recommend.

After reviewing your files, unfortunately we do not show any record of our company replacing your heat pump. We did find, however, that we came to your home on 01/25/2011 and found that a wire in the thermostat was not connected along with the unit needing a much heavier cleaning. It was also recommended by our technician that your heat pump be raised a little more off the ground. Our technician recommended that the fan coil be replaced and that your unit needed an increase on the return air. All of this was performed on a Lennox brand, model # E25Q3-781-IP heat pump. The total on this invoice was $79.00. Again, we certainly apologize. If you still have any documentation, we would love to have the opportunity to try and fix this honest mistake. I bought the tune up deal CJS offered. We just bought a house and needed the furnace looked at and tuned. There were some issues with the furnace that Chris addressed and now we have a nicely working machine. Their straight forward pricing seems a bit high for some jobs but they are things I can do myself. I did buy their membership package for future cleanings which also gives you a discount on service charges. Overall, this seems to be a great company. Chris was very knowledgable and answered questions for me that will help as we remodel this home. I will use them again.

I am so impressed with the level of superior customer service and integrity of the employees of this company. Since October 28, 2013, I have had two service calls, a sales call and an installation of a new heating and air conditioning system. The first technician who responded (October 28th) was very helpful and informative. Chris was so polite, professional, knowledgeable and honest. He told me there was no charge, as he was unable to "fix" the furnace. However, he did get it started again before he left. Three weeks later when I experienced the same problem (November 9th), a different technician, James, responded. James was prompt (very early on a Saturday morning), kind, professional and seemed genuinely happy to help. He was knowledgeable and did not charge me because he couldn't "fix" the problem with my (antique) furnace. He too, was able to resume heat for me. Both technicians cautioned me about the age of our furnace and gave me different options. I asked James to have a Comfort Specialist (salesman) contact me. James called while he was here and Paul met with me shortly thereafter. Paul assessed my situation and made recommendations based on answers to questions and a complete diagnosis of our comfort requirements. He was very personable, honest, thorough and knowledgeable. Three days later (today), three installers arrived. All three were prompt, courteous, professional and they answered all my crazy questions, happily. The quality of their work was fantastic! Before the end of the day, complete comfort and peace of mind was restored in our home. The installers left everything as they found it or better. I highly recommend CJS Heating & Air. They are awesome!

I arranged for service two weeks ago for 11 Nov 2013, Veteran's Day. At that time I asked if that date was going to work being a holiday. The woman I spoke with stated that it wasn't blocked out so they should be providing service that day. I made the appointment window between 1100-1300. On the day of service I contacted the office at 1157 to find out if a technician would be coming out. Any other time I have contracted with someone to come to my home I receive a call the day of the service to confirm the appointment, especially when it has been more than a few days since initial contact. I was informed that the tech would be there by 1300 but he was on a service call at that moment. At approximately 1315 there is a knock at the door and it is James. He was very pleasant, introduced himself and inquiring my form of address. Before coming in he place booties over his shoes (He used the booties every time he was in the upper part of the house). he asked knowledgeable questions about the problem and looked at the thermostat. Not noticing any problems we went to look at the furnace itself. We discussed the problem a bit more as we went to the furnace and he was able to quickly determine the problem. The units diagnostic display indicated a faulty control board. He verified the information and asked me to validate what he was seeing. I did and agreed with his assessment based on manufacturers information. He explained the "straight up' billing system and my repair would cost $936 based on the level of service needed. He thought he might have a replacement available and left the house to check. While he was gone I was able to locate the part on the internet for $321. When he returned he stated they did have the part available and he could get it installed today. I expressed my concern about the price and he explained why the pricing was so high and didn't leave out anything that I could tell. He also offered a service plan for $150 that would save 20% and give me two free checkups to my system over the next 365 days. After some internal debate I decided to go with the service plan and replace the part today. One thing I did not like was that when I asked if the original price would cover any additional work I was told it would not and that it would fall under the pricing plan based on the level of repair needed. I feel that if you are going with that high of a price then only parts should be charged for any additional work completed that day. I was concerned that 'other work' would be 'necessary' raising the amount I was spending. HOWEVER, that did not happen. James went and got the part and was back well within the time frame he gave me. He quickly and expertly completed the repair to include installing a face plate because the board was a slightly different size. He put all excess materials and debris into his bag instead of on the floor and checked the quality of the air flow. My furnace was rated at 80% efficient when it was made and is coming in at 79.5% or better today. He stated he was surprised and impressed that my 12 year old furnace was still operating so well. We completed the transaction, I received my receipts and he left, with no mess left behind and my furnace in working order. Over all, I like the tech. I think the company needs to do a better job of keeping the client in the loop but I would use this organization again for heating or A/C needs.

Chris was very thorough and was very professional. He even checked for carbon monoxide and changed the batteries in my thermostat. Chris did an excellent job and was very helpful! I would recommend him.

It turns out there was a miscommunication on the phone and they and they do not work on our particular type of boiler -- so they were not able to do the work for us. However, they were right on time, were extremely professional and obviously knowledgeable, said they would refund the service call fee (we received the check the next day), and they recommended and contacted for us a company who works on our type of system. The company they recommended was just a courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. I would not hesitate to use CJS. Though they didn't do the actual work, we were very impressed with their customer service and responsiveness.
Description of Work: We were having issues with our steam boiler - leaks and clogged valves. We had them come out to evaluate the system and do repair work.

It turned out pretty good. They guy seemed very sophisticated. They did the inspection and everything was fine. He also found that our water heater was leaking. We let them come one week later to replace the water heater. The water heater replacement took them about 3 hours and they informed me how long it would take before they installed the new water heater. They kept me really well informed on how everything was going to work. I would recommend them and would use them again in the future. They first time they came they forgot to call me before they came out, but the second time they apologized and called me when they would be arriving.
Description of Work: It was a Big Deal for $74 Heating OR A/C Inspection, Cleaning, & Tune-Up. It was a gas furnace inspection. We also had them come back to replace our water heater.

Chris came to the house and fixed our A/C very quickly. He found the problem within the first half hour and had us back up and running. He was very friendly and patiently fielded all my questions and answered them in easy to understand terminology. He wore shoe covers while in my home and took them off as soon as he got outside. He explained all the pricing options clearly. I appreciated his efforts to make my home livable again! The only issue I had was with the office not letting me know Chris was on his way. Other than that minor thing, everything was great! I will definitely use CJS again!
Description of Work: The provider fixed our A/C unit that had stopped working in the midst of 95 degree heat and high humidity.

CJS installed a whole house fan in our attic (at no charge) to resolve the cooling problems we were having with the new unit we previously purchased from them. They responded quickly after being notified of the problem. The technician investigated and discovered that our attic was not well ventilated and extremely hot. Once they installed the fan our A/C unit began to work properly and this solved the problem! This company cares about their customers after the sale! I would definitely recommend them to a friend!

The service technician did a good job. The quality of the work was great, but it was a bit pricey. He did try to push us on a sales contract. Other than that, it was a good service.
