Our air went out in the high summer heat. Called CJS and they were out the same day we called. Advised that the A coil was leaking but at the age of our outside unit we decided on the whole unit. They filled with coolant to get us through. Salesman came the next day to decide on which unit and it was installed within a few days. Very pleased with the service. After about 6 weeks, another team came to review the install. They adjusted it and checked all the wiring, coolant level and other things. Very pleased.

Had a tune up for our new air conditioning system (installed 1 yr ago). Needed a filter for the air handler but it had to be ordered. It was not installed by CJS but they ordered it, delivered and installed it. Very prompt and professional.

CJS Service Technician William W. worked late-Friday evening to diagnose the source of the problem, and made extraordinary effort early Saturday morning to obtain the replacement part, install it, and get our Central Air Conditioning running on the hottest weekend of the year, so far. He communicated with us during every step of the repair process, and was extremely understanding, respectful, and professional. Over the last (12) years I have had CJS replace our Heating, Air Conditioning and Water Heating systems, and we are extremely pleased with the performance of all systems. I have given CJS my highest recommendation to my neighbors and other friends and associates.

Awful. When making the appt, I specifically asked for diagnosis and repair of a refrigerant leak. I also asked to have 'stop leak' added with the recharge. When the technician arrived, an hour late, he made it clear that he would not do a dye test to pinpoint the leak nor would he add a sealing agent with the recharge. I am especially angry because I specifically asked for this service, and would not have scheduled the appt if I had been dealt with honestly. It seems apparent that they really just want to sell replacement systems, and not do actual repairs.

We do apologize on behalf of the representative that you'd spoken with, for not letting you know ahead of time that we do not add stop-leak or dye to any unit. She is newer with the company. The reasoning behind this is that adding in a foreign dye or leak-stopping agent can cause irreversible damage to very important components of your unit, such as the TXV, which can lead to costly out of pocket repairs. Our number one mission is to always keep our client both Safe, Happy and Comfortable. We can assure you that our intention was not to come out to your home to pressure you into a new unit and we apologize if that was the impression you'd received. We always want our clients to know all of their options before moving forward with any major repair, especially when the current system is being phased out. With CJS just say yes to overpaying and being ignored if you balk at the high prices. They did give us a free second opinion with one of their service techs on the status of our heat pump that was failing. The service tech recommended replacing the existing system due to its age and operation. CJS then sent out their sales manager Jim to take a look at our current heat pump setup and provide recommendations for a the new installation of a new Tempstar system. The installer was fairly knowledgeable and took measurements of our home and answered all of my questions so far so good. Then i asked him for a general estimate on the price of a 4 ton 16 seer matching system with the air handler to which he replied $14,500. He could tell that my jaw hit the floor since the highest quote i had received prior to this was around 12k, which I thought was high. I explained that i wasn't going to pay that much for a new system because he was very high. He told me that his bottom price was $10,600 and explained that they charge a premium for their services. He said he would perform a manual J calculation for the exact system needed for my home, get a couple quotes on paper with the options we had discussed, and get those to me over the weekend. He then promptly made up an excuse of why he had to leave for another appointment and was gone within 5 minutes. The weekend passed and no quotes arrived. I called his number and left a voice message on the following Tuesday asking for him to contact me because I wanted the quotes we had discussed. I waited a few days later and still had not heard anything from the installer regarding the quotes. I decided to contact the local office to see if something happened to the installer or if they had my contact information wrong. They stated they had my information correct and that they would let the installer know i was still waiting on my quotes and was promised i would have something in had within a couple of days. A couple of days passed and i decided to go with another company since CJS was clearly not willing to do any type of work unless i paid a very high premium for it. I got a better system - 4 ton 18 seer, with a better parts and labor warranty, and free service plan for under 10k from Extremes Heating and Cooling. In summary, based on my experience with the CJS representatives, they seem like they would treat their customers well and probably perform quality work, but only if you are willing to let them take your wallet and run with it. If you are willing to overpay by thousands of dollars and be taken advantage of, then by all means go with CJS. If you are looking for a fair price and quality installers my recommendation would be to look elsewhere.

Good overall, but the job took longer than projected, even with two techs and an on-site estimate. Only reason for lower than excellent quality score is due to model of heaters that CJS deals in. Work was well executed. While I was not thrilled with the models of heater they dealt in, I was won over by responsiveness and professionalism.

By the end of the visit my wife was thoroughly freaked out and they cut our furnace off stating that the CO levels were a little high, not dangerously high but a little high. The cleaning consisted of wiping down the filter and cleaning the immediate area around the furnace. I was then informed that a more thorough cleaning would cost me between $150-$200. I knew the furnace was old but there were no indications that it was bad or on the way out the door (no weird noises or a strange smells) and of course their fix all solution was to sell me a new furnace that day which I didn't have $2000+ to spend on one that day. It wouldn't have been so bad had they not convinced my wife that she was possibly going to die that night. This was about a year ago, still have the same furnace looking to replace just because of age but it works fine and my bills haven't been outrageous.
Description of Work: I had just bought a renovated house that was about 30 yrs old. It was recommended by the home inspector that I get it cleaned and inspected again by an hvac company. I had heard their advertisements on the radio and figured I would give them a call. They had a special on cleaning and inspection - exactly what I needed.

[Member Name Removed], Thank you for bringing this to our attention, regardless of the time since service. We did look into this matter and viewed the invoice from our previous visit. It appears that our technician had found a CO reading of 118 PPM (Parts Per Million). Unfortunately, anything over 100 PPM we are required by law to inform you of, as anything over that reading is in the "dangerous" zone. When it comes to CO and/or gas leaks, there isn't always an accompanying issue with the furnace, which is what can make these two things deadly. We are deeply sorry that this may have put your wife into a state of shock. With these readings it isn't an immediate life threatening matter, however it does show that there is a CO leak ad that CO is coming back into the home. With CO leaks, although however minor, they can escalate at any point and without warning, leading to life threatening circumstances. Our goal is never to put our clients into a state of panic, nor "push" a new unit on you. We always have your comfort, happiness and above all your safety in mind and at heart. The person I spoke with when we called was very nice, and the technician called quickly. He arrived quickly, and was very nice. He got right to work, and had the furnace running, again, in no time. Very satisfied with the pre-Winter check and the follow-on maintenance. The furnace technician's name was Les and he was very prompt, right on-time. He estimated 1 1/2 to 2 hours to do the work and was finished in 1 1/2 hours. Can't beat that for accuracy. He was careful to not make a mess when removing, cleaning and reinstalling the blower (a pretty dirty job). He replaced the ignitor and was on his way. Considerate, professional, and great attitude. Also appreciated Trina's phone courtesy and friendliness. She called with a reminder prior to the work and followed-up with another call to make sure we were satisfied with the work.
Description of Work: Conducted pre-Winter check on furnace and determined blower motor was very dirty and the ignitor appeared to be degraded. Subsequently asked them to service the blower motor and replace the ignitor.

We not use them again, got in and then overcharged for everything. a $75.00 cleaning ended up being over $1000.00
Description of Work: was supposed to be a $75.00 special to clean and service my furnace and it ended up costing over $1,000.00. they replaced one part and charged us $295.00 and looking online the part was less than $20.00 and that wasn't even the labor part,

Codey came out to give us a proposal on a new system. He understood exactly what we needed and gave us a very competitive price. A week later Josh and Ola came out to install the new system. Everything was done in a very professional and timely manner. All the CJS people are very polite, friendly and aim to please the customer. Codey stopped by during the install to make sure everything was going OK and to answer any questions I had. If you are in the Dayton or Columbus area, call CJS. You will not be disappointed!

The price wasn't bad. I had a few issues with them, but they were straightened out soon enough. we do have a service contract with them, so yes, I would use them again. When they made the hole on the side of the house to put the vents out, they didn't even attempt to insulate where they had done the work until I had said something about it. I'm sure that had I been out there and had seen it, they wouldn't have done it.

The technician (Steve) arrived right on time and was very courteous and professional. He actually found a dangerous carbon monoxide leak in our old furnace. He showed me the readings on the CO detector as well as the deterioration in the heat exchanger. He may have saved our lives.

I hired them to clean and replace the coil on my heater unit which only took a couple hours. I also purchased a year of service from them. Since then I have also found out they have a new veterans program that will save more money.

Not bad. I purchased the service through Angie's List on July 24. I selected three days that week and never heard from them. I called them three weeks later and they scheduled someone to come out on Friday, August 25. Their service tech had booties on when he left his truck. (I thought they'd wait until right before they enter the house.) He checked my furnace and sprayed something on the coils. He also checked the A/C unit and replaced a capacitor. He also suggested that I purchase a new unit. I was warned by a co-worker that they would do this. But then, my unit is 29 years old, uses R22, and replacement parts may be hard to find. I mentioned that I was an Angie's List member, and somehow got charged the $49 service a second time. I'm in the process of working this out with them.

I thought it was a bit pricey but the Tech (Marc) was great. He had to replace a few parts and run some diagnostics which took about an hour and a half. I asked questions along the way and he explained everything clearly.
