I explained to the person who answered the phone that I wanted an estimate for siding and windows. She said someone would call me back that day, or the next day. Two weeks later I hadn't heard from anyone so I placed a second call to schedule the estimate. Apologies accepted, I scheduled the appointment directly with the rep. He arrived promptly at the scheduled time. He gave me an estimate for the siding but said he didn't remember me mentioning the windows. He said he would get back to me in a few days with an estimate for the windows. Almost a month later ... I have not yet received the windows estimate. Needless to say, I chose someone else to do the work.
Description of Work: House needs new siding and windows.

We noticed they were putting on the wrong color of shingles, and luckily we caught it in time. They were very messy; trash, nails, and beer cans all over our property. It was hard to communicate with them. They didn't do things they said they would and we had to negotiate to get things fixed. They broke a solar panel on our roof and we had to go after them. They blocked our garage doors, our front doors, and they had our gutter hanging down. We also couldn't get in our own driveway
Description of Work: They were doing work on our roof.

Both repairs completed to satisfaction, but estimate was quoted as the removal and re install of front entry door. Carpenter repaired the door without removing and re installing. Even though the door closed properly afterwards I felt the price was not in line with work performed. When challenged it took over a month for the person that quoted the job to finally call and talk about the job. We finally agreed to a 100.00 reduction in previously quoted price. Also when I returned home after the workers had left, I noticed something on the roof near the replaced drip rail, a worker had left his tool belt on the roof. I got up on the roof to retrieve the belt and noticed that the drip rail required several additional nails to fasten properly. It took a week for the worker to return and fix the drip rail and retrieve his tool belt. He stated that he had to buy new tools too work that week. He did thank me for returning them.
Description of Work: Repaired missing damaged drip edge (due to wind) on fasic, and repaired poorly installed front entry door. Door was intially installed by a different company, not Buckeye.

It took Buckeye Home Improvements numerous return trips to try to get the roof leak fixed that they didn't take care of to start with correctly. It took them from June to December to get the roof leak fixed. Most of the people who do repair work for roofing companies are not local people. Some of them do not speak English at all and if you have a problem, you can't talk to them because they don't understand English. That was part of the problem to start with - there was a communication barrier. I couldn't tell them that they were doing things incorrectly. They didn't have any one locally that oversaw their work. The only thing I could do was call the salesman and tell him they made numerous mistakes. Instead of going out to supervise it or to send someone out to supervise that understood English and could possibly communicate with them, he sent trouble-shooters after the job was done to try to piecemeal and try to get things done that weren't done correctly to start with. And that was part of the problem.
Description of Work: Buckeye Home Improvements LLC took care of some hail damage on my roof.

Response from Buckeye Home Services
I talked to this client this morning and he confirmed that it was not buckeye home improvements but rather Buckeye Home Services that he had contracted to do his work, so please remove this report from my account. Thank you.

This work was done in January of 2007 during a warm period. They came out and gave us a very good price and made a temporary roofing repair until they could get the materials and job started. They started the week that they said they would and finished in one day. My wife went to work and we had an old roof, when she came home we had a new roof. Unbelievably fast for a large ranch. There were immediately 2 small problems: A small bit of cracked drywall in our kitchen (maybe not entirely their fault) and they put the wrong style of dryer vent on the roof. Both were fixed within a day or two and without question. Later that year my wife and I noticed a bit of roof ridge line that was sagging. We called them and they came sometime within the next week and fixed it without us even knowing that they were there. I wish I knew what they fixed (was it something they should have fixed during the original work, was it something that requires us to keep an eye on?) Overall, we were satisfied with their roofing work and can recommend them.
Description of Work: Stripped 2 layers of roof and re-shingled.
