I sent my nephew to Broadway Sand and Gravel to pick up soil to fill in a long trench on our property. We did not want to overload the truck so we only wanted to get a half ton at a time and go back to get the other half ton. He was told the minimum charge was $29.00. The charge for a full ton is also $29.00 . When I called to let the manager know that i wanted to have the full ton she said there would be another $29.00 charge, stating that each time they loaded soil onto a truck here is a $29.00 charge (for a process that takes less than 5 minutes!!). In the spirit of good consumer relations, I should have been allowed to get the other half ton at no charge. This is an example of capitalism at its worst and an example of why i will not use this company again. Quite frankly this policy is BS!! WARNING: THIS COMPANY'S POLICIES ARE NOT CONSUMER FRIENDLY!! WHAT A RIP OFF!! I have a list of companies that i no longer do business with and this company has also made that list list. It is my practice to inform all friends and family members of these companies and my experiences with them. Angie's List allows me to reach an even larger audience to spread the word so that other consumers will not be ripped off!! Broadway Sand and Gravel needs to give me the rest of my soil!!

The price was right and the delivery was just fine. However the quality of the top soil was marginally better than the clay that I am trying to improve. I would recommend spending the extra $20 or $40 that the competition charges to get a better quality soil.
