Jan 2014 I took my Cuckoo clock in for repair. After one year it had not been touched. I requested it be returned but did not receive all the parts.
* I dropped off my Grandmother's cuckoo clock January 25, 2014 at Bill's Clock Shop. This clock is very special to me as it was my Grandmother's. I requested an estimate to repair, clean and oil the clock. I spoke with both Sue and her sister at their shop.
* Spoke on the telephone with Bill's Clock Shop (Sue's sister) on May 5th 2014 regarding the estimate on my cuckoo clock. She gave me an estimate of $248.00 to repair my clock. I approved the estimated price. She gave me a repair completion date of eight weeks - mid July 2014.
* I went to the shop on July 21, 2014. I spoke with Sue who said she is waiting on parts. Estimated completion given was about two weeks. She said she would call when finished.
* I went to Bill's Clock Shop on Oct 8, 2014 and spoke with Sue. I was taken to the "cuckoo clock room" and shown a wall full of cuckoo clocks. She pointed to one tagged Alan Cox and said that was mine. She told me parts are on order for mine and this one other, they are near ready to go. She told me next time it will be finished. I ask if she has drilled out the broken antler and she said no. I ask if she replaced the bellows and she said no but she will. Estimated parts will arrive in two weeks.
* Feb 4, 2015, I went to the shop and told Sue I want to pick up my clock as it has been over one year since I took it in for repair. She said she understood and even recommended another clock repair shop to get the work done at. I was also informed she was closed for three weeks because of a large water issue in her shop and she is now alone in the shop. She took me to the back room (cuckoo clock room) and I identified my clock. She removed it from the wall and handed it to me. She ask if I could return in a few days to pick up the pendulum, weights and the head piece. She showed me several large storage areas of these items wrapped in tissue with names on them. She wanted time to go through and search for my items. I agreed to return in one week. I have the unrepaired clock back without all the other parts. I did ask if I could go through the stacks searching and she said no, they are fragile.
* Feb 12, 2015, I returned and she had no idea who I was and no recollection of our earlier conversation of getting my parts. I was told she would call me in a couple of days when she has found them. Another example of her not telling the truth.
* I have not heard anything from her. She does not answer the phone and messages cannot be left.
I would be happy at this point to just to have my cuckoo clock parts returned. Parts that are missing, three weights, pendulum and top crown (elk head)
UPDATE March 17, 2015 . After filing a Better Business Bureau complaint Bill's Clock Shop returned my clock parts
