Emergency Services Offered
Services we offer
Plumbing, drain cleaning, water heaters, pumps, softeners, wells & pumps.
Service provided was overpriced, amateurish and terrible. Paid $7850, which is really high for standard drain assembly. On their first attempt they forgot to seal one of the pipe connections. Total amateur mistake. Had to call them back in. Second time they found the mistake, but still had a leak after their second attempt to fix it. On the third attempt the plumber actually told me that if it leaks again it must be because of something else and wouldn't be on their dime. Can you believe that?? After two times they had to fix their own mistakes!! No apologies and no discounts for my inconvenience and their poor work. Then when I eventually had to try to clear out an unrelated clog using the overflow/cleanout, I found that they used a permanent seal on it, which should not be done specifically because that has to be used as a bypass to the drain for clog removal with a snake. So then I was stuck fixing that mistake on my own because there was no way I was letting these idiots back in my house and touching my plumbing! These guys seemed to have no clue what they were doing beyond maybe watching a youtube video and made many mistake along the way no professional plumber should ever make, but I was stuck paying professional plumber pricing. DO NOT USE!

Plumber was looking for everything that was wrong that I didn't even call them about. Asked a bunch of unnecessary and invasive questions that sounded as if he was looking to report issues to an inspector if I didn't use BF Plumbing to fix them. They're prices are RIDICULOUS! They also try very aggressively to sell you their repair plans for their already overpriced service. Never again.

He came in and showed me where the price to clear out my garbage disposal would be $142.00 and my $50 dollar coupon would go towards that. It took him 10 minutes to finish the job and I was billed total cost of $221.00 I could have gone out and bought and replaced my disposal at home depot for $165.00. I found $142.00 to be extremely high to begin but agreed. I have wasted about one hour of my life now and really feel ripped off!!!

It was extensive and expensive but I was pleased with their work. Their cost was competitive compared to Roto Rooter who also gave me an estimate. I thought that the gentleman doing the estimate was more straightforward. Unlike with Roto Rooter, he did not get a condition on the work. they did a good job. They did it when they said they would do it and they got it done within the expected time frame.

Ed from Ben Franklin Plumbing was on time, and very professional. Rather than clearing the clog by removing the cap on the pipe, he actually cut the pipe, augered out the drain, then placed a fitting on the pipe. This will allow me to fix a clog the next time it happens myself. When there was confusion regarding the price of the service call, Ed called Angie's list to make sure the pricing was right, and we both understood it. I appreciate him doing this, ensuring I was satisfied with the pricing. I would highly recommend Ben Franklin Plumbing, and Ed in particular. d

The service was excellent. Ed from Ben Franklin was very personable, and friendly. Instead of pulling the cap from the pipe in the laundry room, he actually cut the vent pipe, augured out the clog, then fixed the pipe. Doing this allows me to fix future problems myself. When there was confusion regarding the price of the service call, he wanted to make sure I received what I had paid for. Therefore, we called Angie's List, got the confusion cleared up, and he completed the job. I recommend Ed from Ben Franklin Plumbing. He was professional, yet friendly.

the address we serviced was not the one listed above. However, our technician did indeed arrive for the named individual above at [Member information removed] and provide pricing up front. Which was declined. We believe that a misunderstanding occurred as to what the Angie's list deal provided. It seems that our client misunderstood that ALL work would be covered by her deal. We find that occasionally Angie's clients have this misunderstanding, which creates frustration for our clients.

If you are female do not use these people, I expressed my concern over their $79.00 service fee and I was told I could trust them. Big mistake they came and gave me an estimate that was about $600.00 too high just to replace a kitchen sink and faucet. This is exactly what I new would happen. So because I didn't have the work done I had to pay the $79.00 charge. I was told by other perfessionals this at the most was a $300.00 job. So story goes got ripped off again out $79.00 and no new sink. Beware ladies just another company that treats us like idiots. I received a second quote later that day for $252.00 to do the same work. Beware is all I can say. The only good thing is they were on time (to rip you off)

Skip to the sixth paragraph if you don't want the full story of how I ended up using Benjamin Franklin and just want the review of their company. I purchased my first home in 2009 and had an incident shortly after that involved water back-flowing into my basement through a floor drain. Since that occurrence, I had a plumbing company out each year to run a machine through the sewer line to remove roots that had found their way into cracks in the clay sewer pipe causing blockage which lead to the back-flowing of water from a drain on the floor of the basement. Each year, I had a different company out to clean the drain because I was looking for the best work at the lowest price. This sometimes cost me more money because I would have to get 2 plumbing companies out in a single year and would often be told that I had a collapsed sewer drain, when in reality, the companies just weren?t spending the appropriate amount of time to cut through the roots. In the area of drain cleaning, I give kudos to Stebbins Plumbing because although they were one of the more expensive drain cleaning providers, they were also one of the best. In January of 2013, I had a back-flow of water in my basement so I called a random drain cleaning company to come out and inspect. This company did go beyond what previous companies had done and they cleaned out the floor drain where the water was coming up instead of running the machine through the cleanout closer to the main city sewer line. This didn?t work though and a few days later there was a major back-flow of water. I called that company back out and they ran their machine through the cleanout and told me that they were hitting something and would have to run a camera to investigate. This was expensive, but their camera recorded the images as it went through the pipe and they provided a DVD copy of this recording. That company proceeded to tell me that I had to have my pipes dug up and replaced which would have cost around $15,000 (aprox. $7k would have been covered by insurance for the replacement of the pipe, leaving me responsible for the remaining $8k). I called several places, and for those that actually showed up to give me an estimate, this seemed to be the going price. What increased my price was that I also would have had to get the street dug up which requires extra permits etc. After dealing with some no-shows and some high bids, I made a call to Benjamin Franklin Plumbing. They advertised a non-invasive alternative to pipe replacement through a method of pipe lining. I did a little research on this technique prior to calling them and it seemed like a legitimate way to go. I spoke with the owner and he explained about their process and how a team would do the job, but I'd be working directly with one guy throughout the project. The rep I worked with from Ben Franklin was Bryan. He reviewed the other plumbing company's DVD of the line and also used his own camera tool and determined that I could have gotten by without having my pipes dug up or the line replaced immediately, but indicated that the pipe was deteriorating due to the roots. He wrote up a quote and explained the lining process in further detail. Their price included a 10-year warranty and even though my insurance covered none of this type of repair, it was still less than the amount I was going to have to pay with the insurance assistance using the dig-and-replace method. I decided to go with the permanent fix and have Benjamin Franklin line my sewer drain pipe because I felt it was superior to the dig-and-replace method. The weather was not ideal when the work was performed. Temps were fluctuating daily from snow to 50's and 60's. This caused some minor setbacks, but the crew worked diligently and completed this job in about 4 days (3 working days, 1 setback day). The crew showed up on time, they were all very professional, and they all worked hard from start to finish. I would suggest that Benjamin Franklin Plumbing be your first call if you have root issues and plan to get them permanently corrected. One year later, I have not had a single back-flow issue and Benjamin Franklin came out to inspect the liner and everything was still in good shape. I am planning to have other plumbing work performed by them because of their professional approach.

Always excellent service!!!
Description of Work: I remember how much I spent on this, but it was worth every penny. Right on schedule they called us to set our yearly checkup and to drain the water heater as part of the extended maintenance agreement I purchased at the time they put it in. I wish everyone that came to our house was as polite and professional as Chad. I'm hoping there will be an opportunity to renew my contract (I think I may have another year) because the service is so good. Great work EVERY time from first contact (scheduling) to completion!! Thank you!

They were very good. I was on standby on call, I contacted them at 12:30 in the afternoon and he contacted me just before 3. He came in about 3 in the afternoon to do the repair work I needed done. He was really good and professional. He put covers over his shoes to keep my carpet clean and he cleaned up the mess as he finished and dumped all of it at his truck. He had the parts so I didn't have to wait, it was a good job and I've used them before.
Description of Work: The nut on my utility sink had corroded. It was leaking from the pipe that connects to the sink and Benjamin Franklin Plumbing replaced that whole assembly then added new PVC piping in it, too. My other problem was that my drain from where my laundry dumps into was running real slow and backing up so he cleaned out that pipe for me, too.

Bad experience. Buy your own faucet from a hardware store. Stick to the reason for the call.
Description of Work: Call was for plumber to replace a faucet. The cost for replacing this faucet and purchasing the faucet from the plumber was over $500. Also was selling some type of plan to insure and check your other appliances and plumbing for a fee on a yearly basis which came to about $150. Advice: Buy your own faucet at a hardware store and don't listen to all the other verbage.

It went well. The only issue I have is that they advertise they will take $300 off your bill if they show up late for their appt. I had to ask repeatedly for an actual appt. time. They always wanted to give me a general time frame (after 1pm or between 3 and 5) rather than an exact appt. Other than that things went well. When I did get my appt. time they did show-up, did the job well, and wore shoe covers in my house which I really appreciated.

ACCORDING TO OUR RECORDS, 10 MONTHS AGO WE INSTALLED THE CUSTOMER SUPPLIED FAUCET AND REPAIRED A DRAIN LINE AS WELL AS INSTALLING THE NEW DRAIN TRAP ASSEMBLY. THE PRICING USED WAS CORRECT BASED UPON THE PRINTED PRICE GUIDE ALL OUR CUSTOMERS REVIEW AHEAD OF AUTHORIZING REPAIRS. THE RETURN VISIT WAS A RESULT OF A WEAK PART PROVIDED WITH THE FAUCET. WE ELECTED TO NOT CHARGE ANYTHING EVEN THOUGH WE CANNOT WARRANTY THINGS PURCHASED BY OTHERS. THE ORIGINAL INVOICE WAS $97 LESS THAN THE STATED AMOUNT INCLUDING THE SERVICE FEE ALL OUR CUSTOMERS PAY. I DO NOT SHOW A RECORD OF THE CUSTOMER CONTACTING OUR OFFICE WITH A CONCERN ABOUT THE PRICING OR A RESPONSE TO THE FREE REPAIR RECEIVED THAT DID NOT QUALIFY UNDER WARRANTY. 100% SATISFACTION IS PROMISED AND PRINTED ON EACH INVOICE. EVEN IF 100% OF THE INVOICE IS RETURNED WE STAND BEHIND OUR PROMISE. WE LEFT A VOICE MAIL MESSAGE 8/11/06 REQUESTING A RETUREN CALL TO RESOLVE ANY CONCERNS.
