The individual concrete pours were too large (7-10 yards) and unmanageable, requiring tearing up and removal as the concrete would set up too fast. The stamping was irregular, out-of-line, and often overlapping (double stamping). The release dye was erroneously removed with power washing. Steps were inappropriately stamped and the 1/4 inch of concrete hardener (providing the base color) that was supposed to be on the surface was in many places as thin as a sheet of paper. The result was a disaster: a large two level concrete patio with an irregular overlapping double stamped pattern with virtually no color contrast (second color 95% gone) and no surface hardening. It required 250 hours of personal time with laborious hand staining to render the appearance to an acceptable level. This contractor has very little knowledge of stamped concrete, avoid at all costs.
