He was very nice and quoted the estimate the next day as promised. The biggest issue was that the quote was more than twice as much as another quote I received.

I requested a written bid prior to the work beginning. I did not receive it until the last day (with his bill). Had we had one from day one we might have avoided a few conflicts. The quality of some of the work was not as expected. I have a skylight area which needed to be cleaned up prior to painting. It was done on the last day and in a very slipshod manner. It was also painted the wrong color. I was also very specific about there being 3 "handyman" type small things that needed to be included prior to the areas being painted. I was told he would have 2 handymen there the first day to handle them. I wound up adjusting 2 sets of sliding doors (so the paint wouldn't rub off). I removed some carpet from a wall (which I thought they would sand/smooth prior to painting. Wrong.) And I removed the drop ceiling for access to the skylight prior to their arrival having been assured they were perfectionists and the holes, etc. would be repaired in a professional manner. Wrong again.

Darrell and Les did a great job, the ceiling had drywall tape separating for most of the length of the peak and they did a wonderful job repairing and painting. Their estimate was lower than some and those about the same were slow to get to the job. They were quick to get to the job and finish.

The quality of work is excellent, and Darrell was quite professional from beginning to end. The quote was based on three coats of paint in each room. The den required only two, but the kitchen required four. He wanted to take $100 off the final bill because the den required less, but I insisted on paying him the full amount because he had to come back for another morning to apply the kitchen's fourth coat. Because I needed the work done within a short time frame, Darrell worked to fit me in with the other work he was doing. I feel that he was very fair, and he completed the work in a timely manner.

Mr. Ash came out to give us an estimate and he was very friendly, prompt and easy to work with. His prices were good and he was able to start very quickly which was important for us. In the kitchen and living room, there were several layers of vinyl along with 5 or more layers of wallpaper. I was very impressed that he didn't charge any extra for this. They were very quick and very good. There was a miscommunication with a closet needing to be done, but they came back out and finished very promptly. My only complaint is that our kitchen was left pretty messy with gunk on the cabinets, counters, vents and appliances. This may have been a miscommunication though, because we are replacing all the carpet, so I said they could be as messy as they wanted.

All cut in work around ceilings and stained woodwork done expertly with clean, straight lines. Custom blended colors. Completed work on time in professional and workmanlike manner. Fully insured and has workers' compensation. Highly recommend. Had to paint 16 foot skylight in master bath and approximate 20 foot foyer. Did great job. Charged per quote even though some rooms required more coats of paint than originally estimated. Offered to pay for additional paint, but Mr. Ash said he doesn't do business that way. Final cost is as per estimate.
