Appliance Doctor

I called at 8:30 AM and had the appliance doctor ringing my doorbell at 11:30 AM. After some diagnosing of the ice dispenser, he ended up on the phone with Whirlpool. They told him the replacement part needed for repair was no longer in production. He felt bad about that and charged only the visit fee.

Came out and told me I needed a new oven. No work done. cost $70.

I was told it was too old to repair (from 50s or 60s). I could have sent a picture to get that recommendation. Maybe it was me in that I expected too much.

Temporarily fixed on first visit. Ordered part and fixed permanently on second visit.

We called the Appliance Doctor, got an appointment as requested. Tom called, arrived on time and knew right away what was wrong. It was plugged drain. He fixed the problem quickly and his fee was very reasonable. I would recommend this business highly.

Could not tell exactly what was wrong. Thought that the water arm was splashing against the door and bent it a bit.

I called in for service and a repairman was here in approximately 90 minutes. The issue was quickly identified and fixed within 15 minutes. I will definitely utilize the Appliance Doctor if I need future Appliance repairs.

Great. Tom came super quick and worked just as quickly to clean out the sump pump and get it running again. Simple repair, but glad I didn't need to buy parts. I found Tom to be extremely professional, and totally fair - no hint that he was going to try to charge us for more than what we needed, which is always appreciated.

Tom quickly and carefully removed the washer case, agitator, and steel drum, which rests inside a plastic outer drum. Turns out the seals were OK, but there was a lot of accumulated grease, sludge on the bottom of the steel drum and the inside of the plastic drum. This is what was flaking off into the clothes. Following a thorough cleaning by both of us on each of the major parts, Tom efficiently re-assembled the washer and checked to make sure that it was operating properly. My wife was thrilled with the results, and the charges were very reasonable.

Tom arrived promptly at the scheduled time and completed the job in 1/2 hour.

He came out pretty fast. He is reputable and very expensive. He is a dollar per minute. I got into discussion with him and I actually helped him solve the problem. He is not knowledgeable enough. It took two of us to figure things out. That was the first time I used them.

We contacted the Appliance Doctor via Angie's List on a Sunday when they were closed. I received an email within hours asking for specifics and scheduling us for the first appointment on Tuesday. We received a phone call 20 minutes before they came out, and he arrived promptly at 9:15. He inspected the oven, did 20 minutes of testing, and tracked down the faulty relay on a circuit board. He called in the part order, and fit us in between afternoon jobs to come back and install the board, calling first to ensure we were home. The only slightly negative issue was the cost of the circuit board, but that wasn't the Appliance Doctor's fault, it was KitchenAid's/Whirlpool. I would highly recommend the Appliance Docotr, and would recommend them to friends.

I have let him come into my house when I’m not home multiple times and have not encountered any problems. He is extremely honest with me as well. I had a problem with a washer so he came out to look at it. He ended up not charging me anything and told me upfront it wasn’t worth fixing and I should just get a new one. He takes care of all my projects.

I called Tom today hoping he could come by my home on 10/15 when I would again be working at home. Although I live in Miami Township, way south of Dayton compared to his location, he said he'd try to come by once he finished his appointment in Huber Heights since I was working from home today. I told him my problem and the problem code the range was displaying. He called me back and said it was probably the oven temperature sensor (which is a part he carries on his truck), and he'd be at my home in 30 minutes. Wow, I was so happy I wouldn't have to wait 9 more days as I had asked. He was here on time. I showed him the stove and he told me it could be the clock instead of the temperature sensor which made sense to me. He quickly diagnosed the problem as the sensor and replaced it. He was very professional and I was very happy. He is now programmed on my phone as he is now my repairman for all my appliances. I gave him a C on price only because I don't have a clue if it was high or low; however, I do know he is professional, courteous, prompt, and very knowledgeable. He is the ONLY appliance repair man I'll use.

I called to schedule an appliance repair & was told they don't travel "that far out". We are 12 miles from Dayton. So much for availability.

We've used him twice. We had a wonderful experience and we highly recommend him. He is very good and very quick. He was a very nice guy. His price was right. There was a continuing problem the first time but he came out for free and it is totally fixed now after he came out the second time.

He was great! I could tell he's fixed his share of washing machines like mine. He found the problem right away, gave me two options, and it was fixed with 30 min. He was also able to come much sooner than if I had gone with Sears repair. I would've been without my washer for another week. I'll definitely call again and have already told a few people about you. Having used Tom many times in the past, and generally been satisfied with his work, I called him again. Strangely and frustratingly, when he arrived the washer turned on as if nothing had been wrong, after I could not get it to do a thing for two days, He was at my house about five minutes. When I apologized for the inconvenience, hoping since I was a repeat and loyal customer, he would waive the service charge. His response was a sarcastic "well I'm sorry that I still have to charge you." I get that he still made a trip, but really? NO compassion or interest in building customer relationships and keeping customers for the long haul? Despite the fact that he is relatively responsive and able to fix appliances fairly well, I will not be calling him again, nor will I ever recommend him to others as I had in the past. I found his sarcasm and lack of personality appalling.

I was needing service on a washing machine. From my conversation on the phone, we were able to determine the seriousness of the problem, and that it was not practical for me to have it fixed. I appreciate the honesty, rather than making an expensive service call.

|The only reason I give a C on quality is the repair was to fix a previously repaired problem where a wire had become loose on a part that they replaced more than a year ago. We kept the bill from the earlier repair and they stood by their work and only charged me half of a service call to resolve the problem even though it was out of normal warranty. The technician was courteous and clearly knew what he was doing and was quick to solve the problem. I would have to say I'm pleased with the service, and I would have them back although I wish that the original repair stayed in place and not forced me to have them back out again because the loose wire cost us everything that was in the refrigerator.

He had to go and get a part but came back in about an hour and repaired it. I would recommend him to anyone. Thanks Tom

We had called at 8:30 am to have our refrigerator serviced as we had to unplug it at 4:00 am the night before due to a burning smell throughout the house. We had looked up on the internet and saw what the problem probably was (a burned out starting device on the compressor). Mrs. Keihl was very efficient and helpful on the phone from the start. At about 9:00 am Mr. Keihl called and said that he was on his way! By 9:30 our refrigerator was repaired. It was the part we suspected. Mr. Keihl showed me the burnt part, had the part on hand (new in the box) and even showed me the price labeled on the part (which was spot on with what the internet sales were quoting). Needless to say, I am thrilled with The Appliance Doctor's punctuality, professionalism, explanation of the problem, got straight to work without wasting any time, courteousness and, best of all, reasonable pricing! I would definitely recommend him and will definitely call him again when the need arises!

Very friendly and polite, got right to work and identified the problem immediately. Didn't mind my pets being around. Discussed with me the options (repair or replace) and told me about the warranty and what to do if I had problems with the new part. I'd definitely call them again next time I have a problem with a large appliance.

Fixed our refrigerator/freezer. Refrigerator was not cooling. Pulled of the back of of the unit and found it to be all froze up. Fixed the problem and was very reasonable in price
