Overall, the service was good. The driver was amazing. He was hard working and very organized. He did a lot of the special packing including dishes and other fragile items. They delivered on time and packed on time. The crew was a pleasant to deal with and it was a positive experience. We had prescription medicine that had tablets. Once we arrived to Cincinnati, it did not have any pills. However, the service was great. Out of everything they moved, we had one really cheap picture frame break. It was so cheap that I did not file a claim. They were also the cheapest compared to other companies I looked into.

Their service has been great. I have no complaints. They are very reputable and do a good job. They have loaded and unloaded our belongings. They were right on time. In fact, we had to made an adjustment to the schedule and there were no issues. The quote was exactly what they charged. They were responsive and provided the estimate quickly. The price was reasonable compared to other companies I looked into. The lead man was very communicative. The other workers could not speak English well, but he kept everything on track. Overall, the service was solid.

The price was what they quoted. All of our processions arrived in the time they said. None of our processions were damaged or broken. They performed exactly as we expected. Their price was one of the better ones for a large and reputable company.

The people were professional and did a good job. The only issue is they left a piece of furniture by mistake. They are going to rectify the issue and send me the chair. They were supposed to be here within a week and it took a couple of weeks for our stuff to arrive. However, it was not an issue for us because we did not have a home at the time. They were very nice about the entire situation. If we needed to stay at a hotel, they would have paid for it.

We had broken items. We signed a form that stated we wanted their full insurance for our items. However, they never charged us for the insurance but we did not know that. They only compensated us 60 cents per pound of broken items. I would definitely not recommend their service. They would not help us even though it was their error.

We weren’t completely satisfied with them. They did a fair job, but it wasn’t perfect. They did some damage to items that were both in boxes and other things in the move. It was a brand new home and they damaged our vinyl flooring. They refused to provide compensation for the damage. They wanted to do the repair themselves and refused to just provide us with money. We wanted money because we plan on replacing floors in a few years anyways and my husband could do it himself because he already has that skill set. We purchased additional insurance with them but there was a $500 deductable on that insurance so it didn’t cover the additional broken items.

The work turned out fine. They were smart about it, we just wheeled it down the sidewalk. They were professional, and no damage was done to any of my belongings.

Estimater was very polite and professional - felt good about the service. Had used this company six years earlier for cross town move. Packers came and started packing up the house. The estimater had underestimated the number of boxes/items to pack. Packers refused to touch anything already in box (i.e., hat in hat box, items in storage tubs in basement & garage). Had to personally pack and protect too many instances like the example given. Movers performed generally well. Movers did not pad & shrink wrap major furniture items as is industry standard. Movers suffered from broken down truck on delivery day. Had to repack entire truck onto another truck. Movers arrived late in afternoon. Several items damged and photographed by movers. Head mover contacted corporate (via phone) and identified damaged items. Corporate asked if we were paying at time of delivery. Payment arrangements were made with the estimater and the charged to CC on the day of pickup 3-days earlier. Moving truck headlights inoperable when movers finished. Made contact with company as no one had contacted us with claim information. Corporate admin/claims dept unaware we had any damaged items and subsequent claims for same. ISSUES: General lack of communication between all departments with this company. Packers and movers publically disparaged other departments. Appears truck fleet is not well maintained. KUDOS: All employees were polite and affable. Employees tried to rectify disparities on the spot.

The estimator (Tonya Day) came to our house and estimated everything we asked for. She was very informative and presented case scenarios that we would have never thought to question which in the end made our move go more smoothly. The packers arrived on time as agreed upon and I was truly amazed on how much they were able to get done in a short period of time. On the day of loading, Eric, Steve and Joe did an outstanding job especially when it came to moving items that had been in my family for many years. We were in storage for 2 1/2 months and moved into a very historical home in the Covington, Ohio area. The truck arrived and the crew immediately used different items to protect our home. All of the items were delivered in the same condition as they were picked up. We have now completely unpacked and I am happy to say that all of those items arrived in the same condition as they were before they got packed. I would highly recommend American Way Van & Storage to all of my family, friends and business associates.
